Yelena Shukhov |
"I though that as well, but the locals may be upset that we burned down the largest building in town. But I do have another idea." Yelena takes her shovel by the head. Reaching out with the handle, she will pick up one cage at a time and drop them into the water off of the dock. "You know what they say; 'Trouble always float downstream."

Sure you want to do that right now? An hour's work at least to get them all down to the waterfront.

Old Guy GM wrote:Just to the right of the dock, as you look towards what would be outside, is an open door, the steps beyond leading to a subterranean level...I thought we were next to a subterranean dock?
Nope, the dock is a shipping/receiving type dock on the ground level. Having been in many factories, I made the mistake that eveyone would know what I meant. My fault. This is where goods come and go into the Glassworks via cart and wagon. Shipped out, received in. Then they go to the docks at the harbor. The Glassworks is up on a cliff overlooking the Varisian Bay. There is a stair and a winding path down to the beach, where they get the sand for the glass. But again, it's a considerable amount of work to move all of these cages down there.

"That's how they raise their young." Gimble says disgustedly. "It would be best to just torch the room," the gnome wizard says coldly, turning away from the revolting scene.
Indeed it is. This ensures that the strongest survive, or something like that in the twisted goblin mentality.
Gimble
As you are deciding what to do about this room and its unfortunate occupants, you all hear a soft thump followed by a sickening crunch from the doorway. Turning, you see a dark figure looming over Gimble as the gnome falls to his knees, then face-first down on the dirt floor.
Initiative checks please.

I put it at about 8 rounds since the last combat, so I'm still fatigued for 6 rounds. Is this right Old Guy?
Seeing his little friend fall, Khalad roars in anger and spins to face the hooded figure.

There's been some trap searching and such, so I figured you have a round or two of fatigue. Call it 2.

Great!

Old Guy GM |

The hooded figure takes a split second to look at you, a grim smile visible on the only half of his face you can see. It's a smile you are somewhat familiar with, as this one also bears a striking resemblence to Ameiko.
With a nod to Sebastian, the figure turns and runs down the hall deeper into this sub-level. He makes little-to-no sound as he races around the corner, twenty feet away.
This a 5' wide hall that runs 20' to a turn to the right. The floor is of dirt, the walls are of stone. The ceiling is only 7' to 8' high here.
Order:
Torillan
Yelena
Sebastian
Rogar
Khalad

Sebastian Creed |

Creed curses himself that he reacted too slowly to put 2 arrows in the assailant's back. Since he was close, can I tell what armor or weapons he had on him or in his hands?
Does this hallway have a light source?

Torillan Ellandilas |

Thanks for your patience, guys!
Torillan grits his teeth and chases the figure down the corridor, hoping he can keep up.
Torillan will take a 20' move to reach the bend in the corridor, maintaining a cautious approach down the hallway.
Please feel free to NPC Tor if my lack of posting for now slows things down. Its' too early to kill him off... ;-)

Old Guy GM |

Torillan reaches the corner, closely followed by Yelena, then Sebastian, finally Rogar. As Torillan peers around the corner, Khalad comes rushing down the hall, greataxe and elbows flailing as he moves. Turning the corner in a rush, the barbarian gets two steps before the unseen tripwire takes him down.
Even before the the very audible "oof" leaves Khalad's lips, the twang of a bow is heard...
We'll move Tor back into the order a bit until he gets his issues set. So this for Sebastian who will be next up at the corner, and for Khalad.
Gimble may act as well, mind you barely stable at 0 hp.

Sorry, missed this. All you can see is that he has a dark robe with bare hands. This was at the time you saw him in the door after taking Gimble down.

Old Guy GM |

My fatigue must be over now?
Khalad stands to his feet with a roar and hustles down the hall 20 feet to the side passage.
Fatigue over, pride hurt
Khalad

Old Guy GM |

Sebastian and Yelena deftly step over the tripwire Khalad was astute enough to detect for them, and continue down past the two doors to where the barbarian and Torillan stand. Rogar and Gimble follow, albeit a bit more slowly.
Indeed, it's as if the hooded one has passed into thin air, as the side passage is all of ten feet long...

Gimble Boddynock |

There are two doors in this hall as well, 10' down from you and on either side of the hall. The aforementioned side passage is twenty feet down, at the end.
Gimble pulls out a dagger and cuts the tripwire. Then he staggers a few steps down the hall and listens at the doorway to the right.
