Torillan Ellandilas |

Sorry guys...internet issues over the weekend
After he kills the goblin facing him, Torillan begins scanning the room, slowing his breathing down. Casually wiping his sword on the goblin closest to him, he suddenly tilts his head to one side, muttering "What was that?..." to himself.
Snapping out of his reverie, he glances back to realize he is somewhat forward of the group, and so he calls back to the others, "Did you guys hear that?"

Round 5
The Great Goblin BladeMaster is no more. Songs will be sung of great deeds, heroic epics will be written in his honor. Goblin women will tear their hair and gnash their teeth at word of his death.
Or not.
Creed's arrow ends the BladeMaster's career just as it began.
Yelena's light spell goes off just as there is a crash and a yell. Goblins burst into the room from both the door you came through, and from deeper in the furnace room! Two each engage Khalad and Gimble, while the other group burst forth hurling razor-sharp glass chunks at Torillan. One gashes Khalad on the shoulder with his dogslicer (5 pts) , the other misses from atop the table.
Gimble takes two viscious hits, (6 pts) the goblins grinning evilly at his pain.
The glass hurling goblins are mostly unsuccessful, except for one, who heaves the shard with all his might. The jagged piece flies as if in slow motion, light refracting into a deadly rainbow as it moves. It slices across Tor's arm, drawing a stream of blood with it. Critical hit! 6 whole points!
As Torillan looks down at the improbable wound from the glass shard, an arrow wings out of the depths of the room, embedding itself in his chest. (6 pts)
Ok, getting back on track here.
Continue Round 5
Creed: bless, scratched, moved and fired arrow, done
Yelena: bless, cast light, done
The New Goblin Horde, done
Gimble: bless, hurt
Rogar: bless
Torillan: bless, hurt
Khalad: bless, wounded
Note we are still in Round 5 with Gimble up next.
New map here updated with current dire situation...muhahaha....!

Torillan Ellandilas |

Quickly becoming enraged at the sight of his bleeding arm, Torillan tightens his grip on his sword, bellows his best and loudest warcry, and leaps forward with a downward chop at the middle goblin.
Take a 5' step to square T18 to strike the goblin in square S17.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 1 = 11 (bonus for Bless)
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Gimble Boddynock |

Gimble steps back a step, reaching into his spell component pouch to retrieve a packet of red, yellow, and blue powder. "Iiluqinnge!" he shouts as he tosses the powder toward the goblins with a mystical flourish. A vivid cone of clashing colors springs forth from his outstretched hand, washing over three of the goblins.
Oh, by the way, Gimble still has mage armor active, so his AC is 17.

Old Guy GM |

Round 5 Summation
Gimble's spray hits the three goblins full-on, and all of them drop like rocks, unable to resist the spell.
Rogar's foot hits a pile of broken glass mixed with blood from the Glassworks' workers, and it slips out from under him, sending the dwarf down in a heap.
Torillan steps into the breach, trying to hold this part of the line from the new goblin threat. His swing goes wide of the frantically dodging goblin.
Khalad's mighty blow smashes a goblin to a pulp. I switched your target to AA16, as the others went down to the color spray.

Old Guy GM |

Torillan Ellandilas |

Cursing as the little nit dodges his sword, Torillan whirls the sword once above his head to strike again. He yells over the noises of combat "A little help here, guys!!"
Perception roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Strike same goblin in square S17
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17 (+1 for Bless)
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Khalad Orlon |

If all the goblins near Gimble are down because of his spell, Khalad rushes to help Torillan.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
I can get to T17 and attack, or if that's a table, I'll double move to get as close as I can. If goblins near Gimble are still active, I attack the nearest one.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
1d12 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Acrobatics if needed: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Gimble Boddynock |

Perception Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Gimble's expression becomes grim as he surveys the goblins knocked unconscious by his spell.
"These goblins are getting totally out of hand..." he muses to himself as he draws a dagger and steps toward the unconscious goblins.

Old Guy GM |

Round 6 Summation
Sebastien, in a hurry to get off two shots, misses with both. Rapid Shot makes you +4/+4, not +6/+6.
Yelena begins casting her spell, when an arrow whistles out and strikes her in the leg, forcing her to work to maintain her casting. 8 pts and a Concentration Check, DC19.
The goblins, seeing that they have Torillan in dire straits, attempt to finish him. The mob is a swirling mass of hacking, gnawing and biting goblins. In the end, two of them connect, their dogslicers tearing itno the fighter's flesh, dropping him to his knees. 8 points from two hits, puts you at 0 hp.
Gimble steps forward, preparing for a grim harvest.
Rogar, attempting to aid his friend, slips again, only allowing him stand up in an adjacent space.
Khalad also rushes to aid Torillan, the impetus of his move lends weight to his swing, cleaving the foremost goblin in two!
For Gimble, Khalad, Torillan, and Sebastien

Old Guy GM |

Round 7
Sebastien: bless, scratched
Yelena: bless, wounded
Goblin Horde
Gimble: bless, wounded
Rogar: bless
Torillan: bless, disabled
Khalad: bless, wounded
Sorry for the delay, Also, I like where you all have used the round number before your spoilers. Please continue to do so, makes my life easier, and yours too.

Rogar Hammergun |

'By Torag's hammer, cure our wounds!', Rogar exclaims as he steps forward.
Rogar will move to W18 and Channel Positive energy to heal those in a 30 foot radius centered on me. Sorry guys. Selective channeling allows me to select one person that is not affected by my channel energy. So whichever goblin is the closest I guess I will not heal it.
Channel Energy:1d6 ⇒ 4

Sebastian Creed |

Round 7 action:
Sebastian sees there is another archer picking the party off, so he moves to W16 and aims and fires 1 arrow at the archer, assuming he is within range.
+7 (with bless, apply any penalties)
Arrow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Confirmation rolls: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Gimble Boddynock |

Round 7 Action:
Noting the hooded figure from the corner of his eye, Gimble whirls about and fires a Blinding Ray at the shadowy archer.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Torillan Ellandilas |

Torillan staggers as the goblin blades slice at him. He madly swings his sword in a wide arc to force the beasts back, even for a moment, but quickly drops to his knees. Sounds seem like they are coming from a jar, and blackness begins to overtake him.
But time seems to slow then, as a wave of warmth washes over him. Blinking through the pain, he cries out and gets to his feet. As his feet get more steady beneath him, he hefts his shield and tightens the grip on his sword.
Not sure if he can do anything else this round. If he can, he slashes at the goblin in S18.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12 (+1 for Bless)
Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Sure about standing up? Three attacks of opportunity for that, one from each goblin.

So that 18 die roll hit one of the goblins in Round 6, right? Maybe Torillan is facing 2 goblins instead of 3?

Nope, 3. That goblin is at 0 hp as well. He gets one action.

Ok, but if he swung in Round 6 at Tor, he would have dropped to -1 hps and there now would only be 2 on him...trying to save Tor!

Old Guy GM |

Round 7 so far..
Sebastian's arrow flies into the murk of the furnace room, taking the hooded figure in the leg. The dark form clutches at his wound and staggers away into the shadows, deeper into the room.
Three goblins turn and stare at Yelena, her upraised thumb a source of wonder to their small intellects.
Shift your actions as necessary. Shadowy figure out of sight, 3 goblins around Tor hypnotised. That leaves Gimble, Rogar, Khalad, and Torillan to restate actions.

Torillan Ellandilas |

Torillan in prone, so he will be on Total Defense (a Standard action). The +4 to AC for TD negates the -4 AC penalty of prone vs. melee attacks. After this round, he loses a hp for the Standard action, putting him at 3 hp (went from zero to 4 hp in Round 6 with Rogar's Healing Surge). Gods, I hope this works!

Gimble Boddynock |

Gandel notes the hooded figure as Creed's arrow strikes, and sees the figure retreat into the shadows. The gnome keeps a wary eye out for the hooded figure as he delivers a coup de grace on one of the goblins knocked unconscious by his color spray.
Coup de Grace: Automatically hit and score a critical hit. Damage 2d3 - 2 ⇒ (3, 1) - 2 = 2. (Well, that seems pretty ineffective!) If the goblin survives the damage, it must make a Fort save DC 10 + the damage dealt or die (so, DC 12).
So the lesson learned from this little excercise is that a coup de grace with a Small dagger is not really worth doing! Looking at the rules for coup de grace, I now realize that I could have done it using a crossbow, but I posted upthread that Gimble was drawing his dagger for this action. Oh well, lesson learned!

Old Guy GM |

** spoiler omitted **
My general rule of thumb is that a coup administered on a creature like a goblin is automatic. We could roll day and never get anywhere with it if the dice go bad. If there are more immediate things going on, the victim is a named bad guy, etc. then we go to the rolling.

Old Guy GM |

The scene is hellish in the furnace room. The blood from combatants is mixed with the blood of the unfortunate workers on a floor strewn with broken and molten glass. The entire floor gleams with the reflected fires from the furnaces.
Advancing the action a little here...
The goblins are either unconscious or hypnotized, and certainly make for short work for your blades. Unless you want a prisoner. The hooded figure is nowhere to be seen, but there is an open door at the very end of the room, some 60' away. The hallway beyond that door is dark.
Torillan notices something in the huge pile of glass next to him. It isn't clear, but there appears to be a dark shape, about 5ish-foot long, buried under mounds of glass...

Gimble Boddynock |

Gimble is ticked off at the goblins for wounding him (and at goblins in general for ruining his parchments during the festival), so he will coup de grace the goblins he knocked unconscious.
"Did anyone see where that hooded archer went?" Gimble asks as he rises from his grim task. "I'll bet he could lead us to Ameiko."
Note to self: Used Blinding Ray 2 times so far today.

Torillan Ellandilas |

Torillan notices something in the huge pile of glass next to him. It isn't clear, but there appears to be a dark shape, about 5ish-foot long, buried under mounds of glass...
Torillan slowly gets to his feet, momentarily forgetting about the dazed goblins surrounding him. He begins to clear away some of the glass pile with his boot, hoping to determine what is under it...
