Fergus pulls out a scroll and holds up a small sapphire gemstone. It glints with a blue light before emitting a blue aura that reaches and envelops Serena, causing them to grow in height and weight.

using a scroll to cast enlarge person on Serena, she should be able to smack the spiders now :) He then moves a little ways further out of the way of the spiders.

Illthir struggles ineffectually at the web. Even with a +10 modifier.

Durgan's magic hits a blue bird caught in web beside Illthir. Miraculously the little avian slips free, tweets a few bars of encouragement to Illthir and then flies off in hurry.

That depends upon which of Illthir's many weapons you are using. Note: it is pretty much impossible to bludgeon a rope off of yourself, or tear a net open by firing an arrow at it. Also, while part of the web is being held by the spider 10' away, part of it is in Illthir's space so depending upon what bit you are aiming for a reach weapon may be a blessing or a curse.

Fergus recites the arcane words from a rolled up, foot-long scroll

One of Zokon's arrows finds purchase in the spider's thorax the second though skips along its exoskeleton.

Aliabot Attempts to pull free from the sticky netting she finds herself within. Str (fatigued): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Straining she manages to pull the net taut. Then with her free hand she retrieves a vial of acid, pots the stopper off with her thumb nail and pours it onto the webbing. acid damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 But, the acid has been sitting at the bottom of her pack for too long and has weakened to the point that concentrated orange juice would have been as effective.

Noah cries out as more spiders descend upon the pathway behind the party. The old man clasps his hands around his staff and mutters the words to some sort of invocation. Stuff happens. Noah, does stuff. Its all very Gandalfy.

The two spiders with netted prey attempt to draw their catch upwards, while the third spider tosses its net again at the rapidly growing Serena.

Illthir has a bardiche ready, so it's reach + slashing. She'd have to attack the web above her. She possesses a sword cane as well - if she'd realize (quickly) that her main weapon is too unwieldy to attempt this. But would require a new damage roll!

There's a noise like *TWANG!* and the spider launches upward upon its web.

Instead dragging Illthir up into a tree, the spider spends its round moving up a bit and weaving itself a new net to drag Illthir up into a tree with on some future round.

Durgan will cast Fly on himself and ascend into melee with the spider targeting Illthir.

He will move at a 45' angle, so up 10' and over 10'. This won't require a Fly check. And I believe most Large things other than bipeds have only 5' reach, so he probably won't take an AOO for his movement. The party should all still be in his Aura of Deflection.

Serena hasn't been netted yet. Her amazing grace and agility (and her spider's poor aim) have seen her clear of the cobwebs.

Deciding that the time for discretion seems over - and her half-asleep tangled swings were unlikely to help much anyhow - Illthir takes tone and sings an brevoyian battle ballad. Be gone foul beasts! Fall before our blades!

With weapon drawn, Fergus turns to the spider currently ensaring Alia and utters a draconic phrase.

Ignis buatleb while holding up a ring embedded with a ruby gemstone. The ruby flares with an inner flame momentarily before an orb of fire appears on top of the giant spider.

He will then tap a small pearl hanging on one of his necklaces, and its sheen seems to dull slightly.

@Fergus, I think it is a standard action to use a Pearl of Power. If it is a free action, then Durgan would recall his Liberating Command spell.

Durgan strikes at the spider as it moves.

Then he accepts the Raging Song and strikes again with his silver warhammer. He is not used to fighting while flying, and it shows.

Durgan's correct about the timing. Like most magical items requiring activation, the possessor of a pearl must put some force of will into the item first and speak the magical command word.

Zokon's first arrow takes the spider thought the center and off the wall. It struggles to stand before finally curling into itself and laying still.

His second grazes the spider snapping scissor-like mandibles at Illthir green but doesn't seem to slow it much.

Alia struggles against the sticky web.

green bite v Illthir: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Hit and apparently I have been doing poisons wrong forever. Apparently there is an initial save to see if the poison takes, and second save on the victim's turn to avoid damage. So first give me Illthir's last round save DC 17 to avoid last round's Con damage. Then because she was hit again this round, save vs poison again (immediately upon being bitten, Fort save DC 17 with any Con adjustments from last round). Failure this time results in the poison stacking onto the dose that is already inside her. Then (because this is not complicated enough), on her turn she has to make another saving throw. If she failed the immediate (initial save this round) the DC increases from DC 17 to 19. Failure on this second roll results in 1d3 ⇒ 1 additional Con damage and becoming staggered (again?), I think.

The last spider finally lands a bite upon Serena.

white bite v Serena: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Hit (finally). I need two saves vs Poison from Serena DC 17. Serena connects, but only metaphorically. Her constitution though shrugs off the initial effects of the spider's toxin. This is one of those '2 successful save' poisons though, so since Illthir was affected she will have to make a second successful on the next or following rounds to shrug it off.

Realizing how inefficient her owns strikes are - compared to just being alive - she takes a defensive stance (flail hammer around at anything that comes near) and sings for all that she's worth.

Fergus's sphere of fire, and Illthir's spirits do not allow the spider the space to move out of the way of Durgan's hammer. There is a sickening crunch and the spider falls dead crushing an ancient, dry-rotted cart beneath it's bulk.

Zokonbot moves over and takes aim over the heads of his allies at the last spider. Both arrows strike the spider in the flank causing it to swing a bit from its web.

The first one (which happens at the time Serena is bit) is to see if she is poisoned. She is. The second one (which happens at the beginning of her turn) is to see if the poison affected her this round. It didn't, so she didn't take 3 Con damage and isn't staggered. The poison lasts a while though, so until Serena makes 2 saves against it, or is otherwise cured she is still poisoned and will have to save again on her next turn to see if it effects her. If she makes that (second) save, her constitution fends off the poison.

Ignoring the surprisingly resistant webbing for now, Alia instead retrieves her bow and attempts to land a shot at the Spider still assaulting her friends.

Illthir "controls an area" that is a 5' cube. Don't feel too bad though bugbears are like 7 and a half feet tall and control the same area. But yes, it is out of range of your spirits. However...

Between Serena's sword, Alia's bow and Durgan's battleaxe, the last spider drops dead from the web... onto Serena. *WHUMP!*
