With the heart of the Stolen Lands explored and the bandits who ruled there scattered, the long-contested realm finally lies open for pioneers and settlers to stake their claims.:
Amid the rush of opportunistic travelers, the PCs find themselves stewards over a new domain, tasked with the responsibility of guiding and guarding a fledgling nation struggling to grow upon a treacherous borderland. Yet the threats to this new nation quickly prove themselves greater than mere bandits and wild beasts, as the monstrous natives of the hills and forests rampage forth to slaughter all who have trespassed upon their territory. Can the PCs hold the land they’ve fought so hard to explore and tame? Or will their legend be just one more lost to the fangs of the Stolen Lands?

Looking torn Erevenywg shrugs, smiles and says with some determination. "You are right, Zoh-Khan, I should do something."

She grasps Zokon's arm again. And suddenly all of the pain and even the tear in his sleeve and the blood dripping along his arm from the wolf waif's attack disappears as if it had never happened. Zokon is back up to full hp!

Then like a flash she rushes past him and out the door. Or did she? She must have rushed past right? The worg, the werewolf, they must not have noticed, right?

She calls back up to the tower shell from the base of the stone step where she must have run too. Right? "BAAL-ZEROES! ZOH-KHAN! I SHALL RETURN WITH THE HELP!"

The forest.

Balzeros and Zokon set to work upon Alia's grievous wounds, and finally stabilize her.

A couple of minutes later, some of the members who remained at camp arrive to help.

Male human Super high-level druid

Back at camp.

Noah makes himself at home by summoning a small army of animals who arrive with a seven course vegetarian meal some of them (like the quartet of black bears) carrying platters of food, and walking upright.

"Want a treat?"

Noah plucks a steamed carrot off of a tray, and offers it to Serena the way she might offer a carrot to her steed. He quickly realizes that Serena can serve herself, and compliments her. "Good girl!"

Soo then. Where are the two wee sparrows you went chasing after? He pauses a moment as balzeros explains. As he does so Fergus crosses his arms.

Well, perhaps next time my words will carry more weight when I suggest taking necessary precautions. As he pointedly looks to Zokon.

I'd say minor invasion of privacy is worth the lives of the baron and baroness of a burgeoning... barony.

As Alia regains consciousness, she barely notes Durgan standing over her, her eyes frantically seeking Zokon, while struggling to her feet and drawing her Estoc.
When she realizes the danger has passed and Zokon is alive and well, she slumps back down against some of the ruined tower.
"I...thank you, Durgan."

As Fergus starts with his explanation, Alia sighs:"Not the time or place, Fergus...please...we will talk of this, but please give me some time to regain my senses."

For what it's worth, I fully plan to have Alia speak with both Fergus and Durgan seperately, later, and also apologize - but she needs to come to terms with it first - right now she's overwhelmed and dealing with a lot. Please give her some time - just saying I'll pick that up and it will definitely have changed her outlook on some things.

As she learns what happened after she fell, her expression has turned sour, and she checks where she was bitten again. With a forced laugh, she turns to Zokon:"Ha, I failed you...maybe they are right, and I should stay home and learn to cook instead of burdening you out here. Nothing of all that would have happened if...", she does not finish the sentence, but her face shows that some serious self-loathing is going on.

School illusion; Level bard 1, cleric 1, magus 1, sorcerer/wizard 1

CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (a piece of brass)

EFFECT

Range touch
Target creature touched
Duration 10 minutes/level
Saving Throw Fort negates (harmless); Spell Resistance yes (harmless)

DESCRIPTION

The subject of this spell gains two benefits. First, the affected creature gains the ability to create a sound like the blast of a mighty horn or trumpet simply by miming the action of sounding one. Second, the subject can speak in a booming voice that carries easily over great distances, lowering the DC of any check to hear what is said by –15. This spell is particularly prized by battlefield commanders and champions who wish to make themselves clearly heard or gain the attention of their allies or foes.

I'm pretty sure she got her teeth into Balzeros too, but there was a lot of biting his way ;)

"I think so. Between her and the Worg, though, it was hard to tell who was actually biting me," Balzeros confesses. "We should take precautions though, and I will submit to any and all for our safety." Wouldn't that be the fly in the milk... Make it out alive, but then turn into one of her anyways!

Lycanthropy is weird. My own personal take is that is lies somewhere between Knowledge (nature), (arcana), and healing in terms of understanding. Usually I give folks a +2 circumstance bonus for each skill they have ranks in above the one they are making the roll with. Regardless, that's a nice roll.

Durgan:
A powerful curse, or the bite, claw scratch, or ingested blood of a natural lycanthope can lead to lycanthopy in a stricken victim. Aside from divination magic only the rise of the next full moon will tell for sure.

"I do not know of any way to discern if either of you have been infected. We may have to lock you up securely before the next full moon rises.
It is possible that a high priest -"

Durgan winces as he says, " - or an arch-druid -"
He regains his composure.
"- could help you."

Can't stand druids. They'd rather see us devoured by beasts or dying of swamp fever than see us build a city.

Meanwhile, back at camp.

Noah offers Serena a bit of tea from a pot brought to him by a tortoise, then holds up some sugar cubes taken from his pocket and asks. "One lump, or two?"

Alia, still learning against one of the ruined walls, not finding the strength in herself to rise, responds meekly: "I...I have some materials for crafting. The moon is full. It will be easy to craft masterful manacles coated with silver until then. You can bind both of us then, to see if we've been affected. I...can do that much."

By the gods. Just what we needed. More things to worry about.

"Well, let's not spend any more time here than we need to. I don't mean to rush you, Alia, but I suspect with some assistance you can make it back to camp and we can settle in for what's left of the night," Balzeros suggests. Sounds like manacles at night are in my future. I can handle that for a month, especially if our future Baroness is doing it too.

Alia nods and stands. She refuses help, feeling surprisingly steady on her feet after the healing.
The shaking that had made her sit down was not her body after all - it was her mind.
"Just needed a moment to catch my breath. I'm good now. Lets go find that damn Fey and see if Serena is safe. Before anything else happens on this cursed night."

Zokon seeing Alia getting up, gives up his vigil for the moment and bulls over to help her, he glares away her protests as he helps her up and helps hold her up til she is steady.

"This is the time to see, I am part of you, the hand that holds you is no different to the one that pushes you up from the ground."

His look softens "I am relieved beyond measure that you are well."

He helps as is needed then takes up his bow again.

Noah drops the cubes into the cup, and affectionately ruffles Serena's red mane with his hand.

The party marches back into camp a moment later, to find the trees festooned with flocks of day birds, and large elk striding about over a ground covered in small woodland mammals, a herd of goats, some wild pigs, and trio of bears.

"AH! I see you have found your lost, young girl." Medwyn says indicating Alia with a glance.

He stands and waves everyone forward. "Come. Sit. We were about to eat. I am Noah Medwyn."

LOL!

Somehow not the strangest thing that has happened to him today, Balzeros takes a seat on a log. He's barely let out a sigh when Ramita collides with his head. Clinging to his face, the man does his best to stroke her back and calm her. Muffled, placating coos are just audible and eventually Ramita settles for clutching his shoulder while prodding his face with her antennae.

"I already ate."

Durgan is not at all comfortable among the druid's menagerie. Their presence feels like a threat.
"Look at the army I can command." Good for you, druid. Go to Hell. I will not bow and scrape before you no matter your power.
Rather than walking into the midst of the bears and the elk, he will go over and sit on the ground by the horses and read The Order of Numbers.

Illthir sits down somewhere not too close to any of the larger animals. The small ones were fine though. And the horses of course. She takes a swing of her waterskin to wet her throat and then sighs *very* loudly. With a small ooops her voice returns to a normal level. "Not quite. It's ... complicated. And now our fairy friends seems to be missing as well. No offense to you, but tonight have been a lousy night so far."
