There is a feeling of warmth and a slight glow from his hands. He steps back and while Illthir does not feel any better she does not feel worse.

Not so much that Alia knows much about Giant Spiders, but the fact the Druid was not trying to avoid their slaughter suggests that they differ from the other woodland beasts he surrounded himself with.

"Thank you." Illthir managed a smile. And made a mental note to feed some squirels or something in Noah's honour the next time she had the chance. After being healed by Durgan she felt much better. Still tired to the bone and a bit of stiff - but not actively leaking blood at least! "Thank you too Durgan."

The skald takes the opportunity to sit down while the trackers were ... tracking. Though she feared she'd fall asleep if she just relaxed, so she flicked open her scroll case and half heartedly went over the index. When she came to the Tongues spell she stopped briefly and wondered if the spiders could actually have been talked down? Probably not ... If they couldn't even convince someone mostly human to stand down, how would something so alien like a spider work?

"Bleh. Let's not wish spiders on anyone shall we."

Do the cobwebs in the well show signs of recent passage? Tears, some caught bits of hair or fur?

Or are they fairly intact, suggesting that Ilvah went up the rock outcrop instead?

While he can see in the shadows of the overarching trees, it is hard for Durgan to tell just by looking. The webs in the well look to be old and frayed. They move in the breeze like the tattered sails and flags on a ghost ship.

"...Well there's always a chance the spiders got her first..." Illthir sighed heavily. Bleh. None deserved to go out that way! The skald decided to lighten the situation with a pun. "Well can't do much about it, so I'll just deal with this well instead!" Ouch. Reaching... The skald hoped everyone was too tired to remember that one in the morning. So she went to work on securing one end of the rope somewhere. Then she offered - "Any volunteers to go down once Durgan comes down real soon?"

Illthir is holding on to the rope for all what she was worth. Given the current size of their paladin, she wasn't quite sure how much it'd help, but it seemed like a good gesture. Also the spell probably wouldn't hold forever?

Durgan casts a spell, Illthir begins a chant, and Serena lashes 6' of rope around her waist and begins her descent.

The spiders move allowing Zokon to see them. Clutching sticky nets they descend to just below the branches they were standing upon, ready for whatever may fly into range.

I get that Serena is heading down the well (Climb DC 5 if the rope is tied to something heavy topside, DC 10 otherwise), and Durgan is trying to tease out a plan, and Fergus's player is out of town, but other folks are doing what exactly? EDIT And Illthir is pulling her sling.

Fergus focuses his mind to summon another spell when his concentration shaken is by a crack of thunder and bolt of lightning from the sky that lances into the other spider.
