Ioann, at first ready to give a snappy remark, is offset by the nickname she gives him. Instead of lashing out at her, he grits his teeth, tighten his grip on his sword and lower his gaze toward the ground, battling both anger and shame.

Shortly after everyone has entered the hallway, there is the horrible sound of ethereal shrieking as the floating, burnt faces of the dead criminals fly from all of the surrounding doors and rush at the group. They surround you, fly through you, with their shrieking filling your minds before just as suddenly rushing out the door you entered from slamming it shut behind them.

A look of deadly focus crosses Ingrid's face, the angelic aspects of her features seeming pronounced. "The only rest for these will be final judgement" she says shifting her blade into a combat stance, her eyes beginning to glow far more intensely as she scans the room.

As the disembodied faces float pass, Ravel lets out a startled curse in a guttural tongue, "Frigidná cecky Alazhra to!"

Giant:
"Alazhra's frigid teats!"

Once the spirits pass, Ravel composes herself and smiles at her friend. "Sounds like quite the duo, Ake, dear. Is everyone alright? If the bump-in-the-nights are finished, perhaps we can open a few doors?" Ravel glances about the hall nervously.

Ioann takes a step backward staring at the faces and trying to slice thourhg them as they pass by. Clearly, he is shaken, he had not expected the place to be truly haunted.

"Ake, Ravel.... Ingrid are they dangerous? Were they only visions created by magic or true specters?" says Ioann.

Still turned toward the whole group:
"If the doors are locked, we can simply break them down... "

Holding her blade before her Ingrid slowly advances towards the skulls."Oh it's real alright. There's a faint aura of undeath coming from those skulls."

Pausing for a moment she looks back over her shoulder at Ioan. "Welcome to my world."


Ioann is about to head toward the door to hack it to pieces when Ingrid mentions that the skulls are some kind of undead creatures. His facial expression hardens as he musters the anger and strenght to face it.

"Thanks, let's hope we never end up in my world. How do we slay that thing?"

The skulls have left the room. They flew through the door you came in, slamming it shut in the process.

"Ioann, I would expect everything we engage within these halls to be quite dangerous. We must use the weapons we found in the crypt. We can press onward, but now we know that we face more of the restless dead. If we escape this haunted place tonight, we need to acquire prybars or heavy hammers to deal with other doors in this prison. It was designed to contain, I doubt time has made that any more favorable for us."

"Forget the other way out. This should open the way back." Ioann says, showing off his sword and making his way through the group and toward the door.

Ake pulls a snack of jerky...of some kind out to gnaw on and watch the fun as rocks crash down on Ioann.

Clearly his strength lays within his physical might. It must be truly impressive to make up for other weaknesses.

When Ioann strikes the wood he feels as if he just struck a stone wall with all his strength, it reverberates through his body leaving an achy sensation. There is absolutely no sign of damage done to the door, although the blade looks as if it's seen better days.

Ioann groans in frustration but otherwise listen to the others and falls back in his place of the lineup.

"I think focusing on the door is out of the question..."

OK, I think imgur is f*cking with me. I KNOW I had the right map that time because I uploaded it just before grabbing the link and even double checked but still it didn't give me a link for the one I was on. So, I'm trying to do it again and just to be extra clear, you are ALL in the long hallway that occupies the space of AA22-23 through Q22-23. The doors at AA22-23 are the ones you entered the hall from.

So, we have it down to a left? I think? But I'm hearing both 1st door and 2nd door...

Oy vey, ok, bear with me as I make an ass out of myself... again. I jumped ahead of things somehow. IDK, got everything all confused but after re-reading the posts and the book I've got it straight now. You were in the square area, which is where the skulls locked you in. I made a new map moving you up when Ingrid said she was going up, and forgot that I saved that/uploaded that. Since she didn't go up, though, and you guys instead went to the first door on the left, this is where you should actually be.

When Ingrid attempts to open the door, at first there is a resistance and then suddenly it springs open with ease. You find yourselves in a hall that has four doors to your right, two at the far end, and one further up the wall to the left that appears to simply be an opening that leads outside. The doors in this hall, like the main entrance (and very unlike the doors in the room you just left) are all old, rotted, and hanging awkwardly.
