Jerjia Nimburhombus |

Jerjia marches up to where she's just out of their reach, fixes a firm eye on the dogs, and commands, "Down!" Handle Animal 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Looks like she just made the DC to "push" an animal, if they don't know that command. ;)

Sir Herbert Atkins |

Now the boards are functioning again...
From the tunnel ahead of you, the brambles shake, and judder. A goblin comes flying out, carrying a spear in one hand, and a wooden object in the other. The wooden object appears to have a fuse. The goblin himself looks distorted, not as much as the thing in the catacombs, but not normal either. It's head looks too small, and it's shirt sleeves seem to have ripped where it's arms have grown in size. It's waist coat buttons have popped, and it's drooling. A large cigar dangles from it's fang like teeth.
You are not flat footed
Init please!

Jerjia Nimburhombus |

Jerjia gives a little hop toward the approaching goblin, her hands spread menacingly on either side of her face. "BOO." casting daze Will save DC 13

Wits Fizzlewick |

Wits watches the goblin come running toward them, armed with what seemed to be a bomb. "Gracious me, someone taught a dog to walk upright and play with explosives. Can't wait to see who did that! In the mean time, have one of mine, gobber!"
Thrown Bomb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 ranged touch
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 fire and 5 splash

Sir Herbert Atkins |

Casey's shot takes a chunk out of the Goblin's shoulder, but it doesn't seem to notice just yet. At the same time Jerjia mutters some words and the goblin stopps dead in it's tracks, staring into the space before it's own face, and hardly focusing for a few seconds.
Reynard's shot goes wide of the mark. Witz's bomb hits the ground just as the goblin takes it's final step, and it is engulfed in flame. Once the smoke clears, it is still standing, but still dazed...
Back to the top! Damned daze spell!

Jerjia Nimburhombus |

Jerjia laughs with delight at her effect on the goblin. Pointing her finger at him, she says, "ZAP," and a tiny lightning bolt arcs the space between them. casts ray of electricity: ranged touch attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Damage 1d3 ⇒ 2 Her aim is off, however, and the miniature bolt fizzles out into nothingness somewhere over the creature's shoulder.

Casey Jayne |

Jayne raises the nose of his gun up towards the sky, noticing the goblin return to being a normal goblin. "Well if that don't beat all I ever seen." He says as he reloads his rifle. "Nice work people. Now let's find the source of these buggers and kill 'em."

Jerjia Nimburhombus |

Note to self, single alchemists v's 5 players doesn't work....
Well, if he'd saved against the daze, things would have gone differently. And it would have been more difficult if we'd had a battlemap and had to avoid the thorns and dogs instead of everyone automatically getting a clear shot.
"Feed it to the dogs," Jerjia suggests, looking at the corpse. "That might keep them quiet a while." Is the bomb salvageable? I don't really know how alchemists work.

Casey Jayne |

Casey thinks about Jerjia's suggestion for a moment, "Hm." was all he musters as he shrugs, walks over to the dead goblin, picks it up and throws it in the midst of the dogs, hoping to avoid getting bit.

Sir Herbert Atkins |

There is a muffled "boom" from beneath the Goblin, as the unexploded bomb, enters it's low entropy state.
Is the bomb salvageable? I don't really know how alchemists work.
It isn't now ;) I'm pretty sure the bomb component cost is negligible anyway...
As Casey picks up the goblin, a few blood drips, and singed bits of flesh drop to the floor, on top of a large scorch mark. The goblin dogs go wild as fresh meat is thrown to them, and they begin to savage the body.
Following the briers the way the Goblin came (the only way forward) you come to a T-junction, sounds of the sea to the left, and of the woods to the right.

Casey Jayne |

"Alright. Looks like the water. Lead the way, lawman." He says as he double checks his rifle to make sure it's loaded. Seeing how it is, he falls back in their original marching order.

Sir Herbert Atkins |

The path to the left leads about 30ft, the briers opening up along the way. After this distance, as the sky opens up, the ground gives way. The edge of the cliff is sudden, and the vista amazing. A clear blue sky, with gulls flapping, and cooing overhead. In the far distance an air-ship can be seen, but not heard; it's gleaming wooden hull shining in the sunlight.
A narrow rope bridge terminates the path, and passes for 50ft, until it meets a curious outcropping of land. An almost spherical island rises above the waves, standing not quite as high as the land you are on, but still a good 100ft in diameter. If the island is a head, then it is crowned by a circlet of steel. A dark stone-bricked building rises from the grass tufts, crenelated, and bejewelled by windows that glitter in the sunlight.
Also, stealth checks please, if you come out of the briers. There is enough room before the bridge for you all should you want to stand up straight.

Knowledge (local) 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Stealth 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
"Look, goblins!" Jerjia says, pointing to the towers of the building. "They built this new prison because goblins took over the old one. Looks like the goblins came back," she laughs. "Soon Magnimar will build them an even better house to hole up in."

Casey Jayne |

Worst. Rolling. Ever.
"Yep." He says as he looks the direction of where Jerjia is pointing. "Looks like some goblins alright. Let's go kill 'em."

Casey Jayne |

Crunch. Crunch. Scrape. Crunch.
I just died on this one! :)
Unable to hear anything but the lawman, "Hey Lawman. Any chance you can be a bit louder? I don't think the creatures that are at the bottom of the ocean can hear you." He says dryly, as he works his toothpick from one side of his mouth to the other.

"I suppose I could if I was blasting away with a musket while doing this" ;)

Jerjia Nimburhombus |

"Rope bridge," Jerjia sighs, gazing at it. "Hard to sneak up unnoticed when we're filing across that." She brightens up. "Let's burn it down and call it a day."

Casey Jayne |

"Whoaaa, there little lady. If we burn the bridge, how are we gonna get across and kill 'em all?" He asks. "Course, you're right about us being sittin' ducks." He agrees.

Jerjia Nimburhombus |

"Pshshsh!" Jerjia looks at Casey scornfully. "Everyone knows goblins can't swim. They'll starve or drown or get eaten by something in the water. Problem solved!"

Casey Jayne |

Jayne ponders that a moment, looks at the goblin building and then back at Jerjia, "Can't they just take that airship contraption, to get where they gotta go?" He asks truly curious, as he raises his hat a moment to scratch his head.

Adonai Soldatovic |

"I think at this point, we should just hurry across and take our chances. They're just goblins, after all. Besides, I am curious about this island and would hate to pollute the bay with goblins and you never know what might happen if one of those buggers gets caught up with a shark." Adonai shudders.

I'm going to have very little Internet acces over the weekend. Expect to resume on Monday. In the mean time, if you are going over the bridge, I'd like to know, who, and in what order. Thank You!
P.s. The air ship has nothing to do with the island, I picture it as 20 or 30 miles away, but it's a clear day, and the sun is reflecting off it, so you can see it, but not hear it...

Wits Fizzlewick |

Wits ponders his companions, then the bridge. "I believe I should go across first, followed by Jerjia, then the rest of you large gentlemen. It should support our weight, but I don't want to chance it after you walk across." Wits creeps out, testing the bridge, then moving across as quickly as possible.
