When Ianez named the Erihppas, I described the rime effect for flavor and to provide a clue, but it's not necessary. The gem name halts the telekinesis, but there's the option of saying the other word and ending it altogether.

Argh. I hate not having the correct spell memorized. This is my first time actually playing a memorizing caster, and the druid spell list is giving me difficulty. There have been a lot of thoughts along the lines of "next time, I’ll memorize this or that spell", which are then forgotten.

I realized I needed to make a slight modification because the golem is large-sized (thus I widened part of the pass towards the bottom of the map).

Ok, rules question: do I make separate concentration checks for each iteration of damage, or all the damage added up? The difference between one DC 20 Concentration check + one DC 29 Concentration check or one DC 34 Concentration check...

On a relevant note: MAN it was a bad idea to put story relevance on whether La Siréene can cast a summoning spell or not...

@La Siréene - I say if you can concentrate through the hailstones, you automatically concentrate for the frost. Make one DC 29 check (with +2 bonus for Ianez's good hope buff, which I think means you're making the check with a +19 bonus total?)

You know what's even worse than not having the perfect spell memorized? HAVING the perfect spell memorized, but not realizing it at the time. I am looking at you, Liberating Command, which would have given me a +21 Escape Artist check as an immediate action versus the grapple the Ape put me in.

How the hell did I not realize I could use that spell for the exact purpose I memorized it for? It is even specifically designed to work in a grapple!

The lantern archons can go.

Olivia's ice storm only did one round of damage, so it's done (except the difficult terrain effect, which will probably last throughout the encounter).

A part of me was hoping that Volst would be still around. I was thinking, if it came down to Gaston and Volst in a fight, and Quinn being Volst's magical battery of sorts, the monk would take his life hence no more magical battery. It's a good thing that scenario never happened. ;-)

I would like to make sure I understand something, just for, you know, my own curiosity and rules knowledge -- would the DC of Blackacre's halt undead spell really be only 15 (10 + spell level 3 + Wis bonus 2)??

I don't know - summon is pretty good.
Undead are your weak point with that load out (mind affecting and poison not so good). On the other hand you long ago convinced me of the utility of flaming sphere despite its low level.
Don't forget the ability to use mind affecting spells on allies. If (and this is worst case) Sandru gets dominated to kill us while in the middle of the group a confusion could be a literal lifesaver. I think we might be able to take him down, but not without significant loss and possibly killing him.

fyi Quinn, you're at 71/80 HP. The Eternity Bracers shocked you a second time for 5 damage.

If only this sentence -- "Despite its name, this spell is not the equivalent of daylight for the purposes of creatures that are damaged or destroyed by such light" -- was not in the description of the daylight spell, this encounter could be over quite quickly.

On the other hand, do we think that they are "particularly vulnerable to bright light" for purposes of determining damage of searing light?

YES. That is what Searing Light is for, the anti-vampire holy blast. They probably have some touch AC, but still definitely worth the risk.

As for the patience, don’t worry, it is a delight playing with you.

I'd say no to both - the aqueous orb isn't running water (in a way that represents nature or baptism, which I'm guessing is why it's a vampire weakness), and the spell bless water is a low level spell that only affects one pint of water.

Sorry! But very cool the idea of a big ball of holy water rushing at these monsters. :)
