If I weren't suddenly involved in three more games over the past two weeks (two of which I'm DMing), I'd likely sign up.

It's hard to get folks on these boards interested in one-offs strangely enough. People seems to like the idea of long term commitments that are 95% likely to not come through.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

Yeah, I've noticed that. I've run more than a half-dozen games at this point. I've had some turnover in my adventure paths, but I've never had the difficulty keeping those going like I have my two attempts at one-shots (one of which I ended after a couple months because I was so frustrated with the players' posting rate or lack thereof).

Precisely.

You might have more interest if you market it as a homebrew campaign with a limited duration. =P

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

Seems to be off to a good start. I think I've got enough other games that I can do with just people from those, so hopefully it'll work out. : )

And on that note, better get posting on this game...

I dunno...I had a lot of fun on the one-of adventures. I still remember the last one, Motte...the vampire-blimp one that didn't make a lick of sense. It was a good run and fun.

I do find some of the behaviors of PbPers to be fascinating...how hard it is to be a good player and even harder to be a good GM. There is an art to pacing and pushing, how to keep momentum while not excluding players.

I put Sad Rock in the recruit thread, but could easily bring in someone else, Motte, if you have room.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

Agreed, Kyson (wasn't thinking of that little vampire blimp -- that was one of my favorite games -- but rather attempts to do Witchwar Legacy and Realm of the Fellnight Queen).

But it's easy also to get sidetracked. For example, I was waiting here for Sekathral, forgetting that he had posted he was helping pilot the ship. That was on me for not posting yesterday (that said, I think we're in enough of a groove here that it doesn't kill things when I miss a day, even if I do try not to).

To me, it's the people who can't even be bothered to say why they're disappearing that drive me nuts. I've dropped out of a couple games, but I always say why. And when I ended Witchwar Legacy, I said exactly why, not just disappearing. The only excuse IMO for just disappearing from an active game is if you're hit by a car or something along those lines. And even then, first thing I'm asking for in my hospital is my iPad. (Of course, my gf thinks I have a serious Internet addition problem, and she's kind of right.)

And, with the seemingly endless journey finally over (well, at least you're on the island, if not at Farshore), you can get another level!

Man, T-Rexes are vicious. I may have to use them again in something. Silvio, any idea what you'd like to do? Obviously you're welcome to come up with another character.

That's my first dead PC in PBP and I don't remember how long in general. : (

I think I'll take this opportunity to bow out of the game thread. A few months short of a year ago I came to the conclusion that the Pathfinder Game System is not for me. I've enjoyed this game a lot. The adventures have been cool, the group is great and you're a really good DM. The only downside is the game system. And that's a pretty big downside :/

I'll continue to lurk but I will leave the RP to you :)

That leaves us with a sudden lack of melee to give Seka those sought after flanks.

Mott would you be up for a broader rebuild?

Motte, maybe we want to recruit from the beefy submissions/rejects from your recent recruitment? I saw lots of interesting submissions. Conveniently, they are all lvl 7.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

Patrik, sorry to see you go. Silvio was a blast, though I'm glad I've still got Treshiell to entertain me.

As for the game, I do tend to like 5 players so I'm inclined to recruit someone new. I can certainly consider someone from the recent recruitment; did you have any particular favorites, Kyson?

My biggest concern would be how to intro them. We could say they were laying low for some reason but are actually one of the NPC colonists who realize he/she has to help or everyone will die, assuming the new player is amenable to such an idea. I need to read through the current mod to see if there's any other place to reasonably add someone in.

I'm also amenable to rebuilding if people want to do that but I don't want you to feel obligated to.

I built Zstelian as ranged/switch-hitter because at the time we seemed to have an abundance of melee types (Dargon, Silvio, and Seka). Suddenly we have just Seka and he seems like the sort that likes having a buddy around. It wouldn't take a whole lot to make Zstelian a more dedicated front-line combatant.

I'd prefer to fill that roll over recruiting someone else to do it.

RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16

OK, that's fine with me. I'll read through the whole mod tomorrow and see where we can add a fifth. Just waiting on Khaz for the current round...

Thanks for the condolences :) Feels a bit odd to "bury" a character you played for almost two years. Luckily death doesn't have to be permanent on Golarion :)

Now I have more time to dedicate to Treshiell. I feel she's been running on empty for a while. Hope I can turn it back up.
