Sheesh - have company over for the weekend and Hektir and Tsin slaughter everyone in sight! Yowza!
Maybe I'm misreading this, but I'm not sure why you invited Hektir and Tsin over in the first place...escpecially not for your hard alcohol, hallucinagens, and handguns bash.
If you find my pants, please mail them to me.

Her left arm wraps around the soldier's forehead, and the blade, reversed in her right hand, comes around the man's throat. Not much different from a hung cow. She doesn't let go, her elbow keeping direction for the blood spray. Only when the arterial pumping tapers off does she release him.
I suppose Hektir gets the blame for this as well. :)
(Btw, that was awesome.)

Quinn will take a chain shirt and the masterwork light crossbow, unless anyone else wants the crossbow.
checks to determine the unknown potion and two crossbow bolts:
spellcraft for potion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
spellcraft for bolt 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
spellcraft for bolt 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

I'm going to assume you're doing this all later...
The potion is a potion of interrogation.
You're not sure what the bolts are.
Quinn Kestrel |
Not that Quinn would know this without speaking Skald, but Sertane said something about forcing us to surrender as he drew the item, given what happened to Tsin I would be afraid of more compulsion magic, and given the dastardliness of Mr. Spicer's adventure designs I would also fear a special form of explosive rune that burns us to ashes then transports our ashes to the nearest chamber pot.

The masterwork sword looks very reasonable :) Anyone, anyone?
Is there a reasonable way for us to turn over all this soldier loot for party profit? Not sure the blacksmith wants bloody goods...

Am I right in thinking that Tsin took the masterwork cold iron longsword and the magical snowshoes?

Also, in going back over all the spoils we recovered, I realized there's an unmarked potion and 2 bolts with ribbons that I don't think we've properly identified yet.
Would there are been time to examine those prior to our departure, Mott?
EDIT: Quinn tried ID'ing both things here, but I don't think we got a response yet?

Oh...I don't think we need the scrolls of Stabilize. We have that on command by two or even 3 of us.
I don't think we need the burning hands either...a alchy fire will cover just fine, I think. But you're the user Mal.

I'd like the burning hands for either Mal or Pemsworth (if it's on the witch spell list). And, I'd kind of like to pick up the scrolls of stabilize more as gesture of good will to the innkeepers. They might not try to murder us if we spend heavily at their establishment and save them from white witches to boot =P

Nice! New toys for Quinn =)
@Hektir - did you already add the 2 alchemist's fires to the inventory log? You, Pemsworth and Tsin each have 2 on your sheets already and I don't remember if they're old alchemist's fires or not. =\
I have not added them to my current alias or char sheet yet.
I will do so soon enough.

the aura is from the animal, not an object, and Quinn doesn't have knowledge arcana, only spellcraft, so at a DC15 I think he can only succeed on a nat 20 on the untrained knowledge check?
knowledge arcana untrained: 1d20 ⇒ 19
oh dicebot, how you tease me...

At the risk of giving away what might happen next, are characters aware of supernatural affects, whether they succeed or not?
They don't provoke attacks of opportunity, so obviously there's no major gestures. If, say, someone were to use an evil eye hex, do PCs have a way of knowing that, perhaps feeling out of sorts or something?
Quinn Kestrel |
I think the use of any standard action ability grants a check to people directly observing the creature taking the action? However, the type and difficulty of the check is wide open.
After the fact, I have no idea about how characters know they have a curse or hex upon them? I'll do some messageboard searching...

Hoffman Estates, burbs of the Second City, is hosting a lot of girls playing tennis, including my spawn, so Tsin might be even quieter than usual for a day or two. She's playing Tsingles, get it? T-singles? Yeah, uh... sigh...

Ok, Team, if that inner gate is within 130 feet, I can drop a hold portal on it if you'd like to start the festivities/violence. Captain Stick-Up-His-Butt won't be able to check with ol' Radosek and maybe we can get the drop on these fools in the courtyard. Plus, it'll slow down any reinforcements.
Thoughts?
