Please forgive me, I was on vacation last week and thought I would have more time to post than I did. This week and the following two, I am working a shift that makes it hard for me to post regularly. The games I run may suffer more for this, as it's easier to make quick posts as a player than the work I need for posts as a GM.

Hey guys, been a bit unexpectedly busy for the past few days, will aim to check / update before the weekend is out.

As a bit of advanced warning, it's that time of the semester when my posting may become very sporadic. I need to bury myself deep in my studies to wrap things up and survive the final. I will try to check in on a daily basis, but I make no promises. Well, I make one promise: I will be back.

Phew... Work got hit with a ransomware virus on Friday.... Been a touch busy to get to the forums... Getting caught up now ;)

Well, 16 hours of extra work (we were in until Midnight friday) and a couple of early mornings. A nice long list of things we need to tighten up on, and lots of restoring files from backup.

As these things go it was a mild one, and we did the right things in the right order. But it blew my weekend!

I got one of those a year or two ago. My company's IT guy couldn't find the virus that did it, although he did find some low level malware on my computer. After he declared the computer clean, I kept looking. Microsoft's Malicious Software tool found it. By then I was well and truly paranoid. So I wiped the computer and reloaded the OS.

And learned a whole lot about my computer and all the basic drivers that don't come with the OS. It took days for me to get it right again. Haven't had a major problem since.

Yep, Windows Defender finds a lot that others don't. Basically we have the advantage of knowing what the emails that it came in on are,and where they went. So can decide who needs a scan, and who needs a total rebuild.

Finishing a computer science degree that I started a lifetime ago. Long story, but my career has weaved around and I find myself in a position where the degree I dropped is the one I should have finished. And a generous boss has made it possible for me to pursue it a little at a time. The problem is full-time work and lousy personal time management don't give much time for the studying. I end up accomplishing whatever I accomplish in panic-mode bursts.

I understand that feeling! I've done a few industry certs like that, one ended up being done as a correspondence course to a US collage. It will feel good when you get there though!

Just a heads up, I will be away in China for about two weeks from the 1st of April. During that time I’m not sure how much internet access I will have, how much time I will have to get on, and whether I’ll be able to get access to Paizo; I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to get access to Google Docs for maps etc., and I may not have access to the adventure. Towards the end of the trip I’ll be in Hong Kong which might mean improved access. I’ll do what I can to keep the game moving, but expect some delays.

Thanks for the heads up, Mothman. My wife was in China in December. She had internet access that the hotel had routed from Thailand.

I thought maybe Eljoy and Reekis were being a little high school. I also thought about an OOC shout out to Jasper but decided to just leave it all in character. I'm sure Adalwin will want to bring Jasper so it will all work out.

Mothman, Eljoy will take a level of ranger on his way to de-optimization as a TWF shield and ax fighter. I've got no clue about his favored enemy, maybe fey 'cause he's got a thing about fey. Maybe magical beasts! I really want ranger for the TWF and some side skills.

Neither of those favoured enemies (fey or magical beast) would be a terrible choice, although magical beasts will likely come up from time to time rather than frequently. Same with fey for the moment, with more emphasis on them later in the mini-campaign.

There was also the gem from the gremlin.

The signet ring is worth 5gp.
The semi precious stone from Ulizmila’s hut – you’re not sure.
The six carved dolls could fetch 5gp a piece.
The pink salt is very rare and valuable – the entire pouch of it would be worth 50gp to someone like Laurel.

Also, considering going Bard from this point forward, interestingly enough thinking Dance as a perform would be fun considering his stunted leg. I may just go Oratory as it's more fitting, though.
