Mothman wrote:Nevynxxx, Anor looks good. A few minor problems (or questions) with the stats; it appears that you may be missing a feat (I assume Alertness comes from your familiar, on top of that you should have one for a first level character and one for human). Your Stealth skill should have a +4 modifier I think (if you have a rank in it).
Regarding the background: ** spoiler omitted **
Ok... Swapped Alertness for improved initiative. Now to work out how to ge PCGen to apply alertness for when it applies.
The Stealth skill is affected by encumbrance (as are all her dex skills at this point...)
Ah, I was thinking armour check penalty (doesn't apply here), didn't consider encumbrance. Carry on.

Since I'm looking at the Pathfinder Recruit trait, also, I wondered if you would be interested in tying our backstories together in such a way that Adalwin is the one that saves Jasper after the wagon wreck and the little fellow, having nothing better to do at the moment, tags along with the knowledgeable fighter to Falcon's Hollow until something better comes along. As such, he's not a full-bore Pathfinder yet, but he's learning the ropes.
Alternatively, he could have worked himself out of the jam and met Adalwin in Falcon's Hollow. Regardless, his freedom has occurred shortly before his arrival in the village and any Pathfinder association he has is through interaction with a Pathfinder rather than a Pathfinder Lodge, so he's not official.
If you are interested in rescuing Jasper on the road, I would be happy to share the gory details in a PM so we can hammer out a story.
Sounds like a good tie in, certainly fits Adalwin's character to try to help out someone in need.
Also makes sense that Adalwin would have sought out someone with a good historical/geographical knowledge of the area in the search for the ruins, so perhaps he was put in contact with Oliver by the Sheriff

Thanks Thom; Background looks good, stats are generally ok, but I think there are still some relics from a previous version of Eljoy and maybe a few incorrect calcs.

Cool! I have modified my previously-envisioned backstory, then. PM sent - if you haven't used it before, there should be a wee mail icon and a number at the top of the Messageboards screen next to a "Hello <your name>" message.

Jasper is going through some revisions. I know it's likely not an issue while Mothman's recovery is ongoing, but I wanted to let him know in case it changes some of his plans.
Jasper Eleventoes
Yeah, it only changes his backstory slightly, but Jasper's cross-blooded archetype is going away, I think. Instead of gaining a second bloodline, he lost one and gained a replacement.
That necessitates other changes, of course, and I'm pushing him out a few levels to see if it works as he progresses.

Hello ladies and gents, I am back home after an apparently successful surgery (well, certainly successful if 'didn't die' is a measure of success). Still pretty tired at the moment, so it may be a day or two before I am back to posting and checking the boards on anything like a regular basis, and maybe a little longer before I am ready to start this one. I'll see how I go after (hopefully) a proper sleep tonight away from the constant noises and checks of a hospital ward.
Thanks for your patience!
Jasper Eleventoes
It may not be the ultimate measure of success, but it's certainly a great start!
Adalwin and I have been playing out our meeting via PM. I will try to accumulate it into a single post for your collective enjoyment,

Could someone put together a bit of a list or matrix of which characters know each other prior to the adventure starting, and which (if any) of the NPCs in town you think your character might know (in any more than a passing fashion):
Sheriff Baleson;
Laurel the herbalist;
Lady Cirthana, cleric of Iomedae;
Boss Payden “Pay Day” Teedum of the Lumber Consortium
Anor
Anor grew up in town, so will vaguely know all of the major characters. She will know Laurel and Lady Cirthana particularly well though, having spent a reasonable amount of time with both before her powers manifested and she went walk about.
She'll know any of the other characters who are from the locality, not sure if any of the others are a similar age (24) that she would know better.
Jasper Eleventoes
I'm not sure how long Adalwin and Jasper have been in town, but they arrived together with an empty wagon and brace of horses that they sold on their arrival. That might seem the actions of a thief trying to unload stolen property, if the man at the stables cared to be suspicious, so we might have met the sheriff as a result.
Jasper has stayed close to Adalwin since arriving in town and hasn't met anyone that the Pathfinder hasn't.
I will defer to Adalwin regarding who he might have tried to meet in town in the course of his mission.
Adalwin MacFaine
Adalwin sought out the Sheriff fairly early on after his arrival, seeking information about the region and possible location of Azlanti ruins. Asking after anyone with a good geographical or historical knowledge of the area could mean that the Baleson puts him in touch with Oliver

I think Jasper is complete. The tale of his rescue by Adalwin is a work in progress.
Jasper looks good to me, though I can't work out where his spell-like ability comes from? It doesn't appear to be a bloodline power or an alternate racial trait (that I'm aware of).
Also, just a comment, I notice that you have a bit of a focus on evocation but don't know any first level spells of the evocation school. Just wanted to make sure this is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight.
Jasper Eleventoes
It's deliberate. Part of it is growing into abilities thrust upon him in the backstory, part of it is looking at the future. If he survives to second level, his burning hands from his bloodline will be pretty good. If it was not my bloodline spell, I would take it now.
Isn't the SLA from my tattoo? I'm trusting HL on the build, so I have not cross-checked closely.

Ah, yes it is, sorry I hadn't read the full feat description, just the condensed version on your character sheet which doesn't mention the SLA.
No worries in regards to spell choice, just wanted to make sure.

I imagine that Reekis might have sought out the herbalist for his cough so he will know her (though whether he bought anything is another matter). He'd avoid the Sherriff like the plague (ironic, considering he's actually got the plague) although it is possible he might have had a run-in with the law (I can see him attempting some sort of in-tavern scam, like a crooked card game, and causing a punch-up) and becoming known to the Sherriff that way. I can't see him being attracted to hanging around the Church of Iomedae. I also doubt he'd have much to do with Boss Teedum - he'd have very little interest in being a lumberjack - although he might have considered robbing his house.
Jasper Eleventoes
At risk of telling the same folks the same thing repeatedly, I will share this here, as well.
I know we have only just begun, but I will be traveling next week, but expect to have access to post in the evenings. A little jaunt to try new cycling trails that have been built on retired railbeds. Primary concern right now is the storms that seem to be a nightly occurrence in that part of the country.

Nice complementary skill rolls by everyone by the way - I think you now know almost everything you need to get going.
A map is a good idea, both in character and out in order to visualise everything. With a few characters with decent skill modifiers in knowledge (geography) and (local) you probably have enough knowledge between you to draw a fairly accurate map, which may be easier than otherwise acquiring one. I will see about sketching something up and posting it for reference.

It's been a long time since I've used photobucket,I must have forgotten it was this slow. If it becomes an issue for people I can look at hosting images elsewhere, but I will probably do battle maps through google docs as Aubrey does, so hopefully it won't be a problem.
The scale and some of the distances on the map are a bit off (that's what I get for working quickly) but it didn't turn out too badly.

Not to mention the pop up add in another browser session that eats CPU... But there aren't many similar places to share maps easily. It's the only thing this forum is missing, the ability to embed images. But I understand why they don't allow it.

If our rate of travel is 20', I can keep up and Percival has excess capacity, also. If we are faster, I will need to ride to keep up and he won't have as much extra capacity. Either way, he can afford to carry some more. Naturally, Adalwin has first dibs to use that as I have an existing relationship with him...
