+1 Mithril Musket

The long-barreled rifle known as the Wind's Whisper is an omnious and highly accurate firearm. The Wind's Whisper has an ebony wood stock and deep blue Mythral relief with jade highlights, giving it a very deep, and almost translucent appeal, reminesent of the wind whistling through the rocks and grass. Remarkably the rifle is exceptionally light and accurate, capable of striking a target even 100 paces more distant as the rifles lightweight frame seems to slip effortlessly through the air.

The Wind's Whisper has the uncanny ability to strike both highly accurately and far targets with ease. The Wind's Whisperer has a range increment of 60ft and its user can spend a Move action to increase the accuracy of the next shot made that round, granting +4 to hit.

So, this is a +1 Mithral Musket with an air element (with increased range and accuracy instead of moar damage), allowing it to strike a further 20 and to do a sort of "pause and aim" moment, increasing accuracy, exactly like the Bullseye feat.

I will allow.

Some nice PCs, a think we can have a great range of races and types.

I'm looking over submissions. I'd like to see what Chillblame has tomorrow.

This was captured by a goblin tribe when it destroyed a kobold tribe that served a blue dragon named Grel. Grel retaliated for the loss of her servants, obliterating the goblins. The glove, made from grel’s discarded shed skin, was looted by the goblins and left on the field of battle. It's path from there is little known, but it seems it has a purpose, or a destiny.

story:

Adoy was born in the slums of the city of Escourt, and soon learned that he was different from the other gutter goblins. For one, he was a blue colour instead of green. Tormented by the other goblins, he soon learned two things. A desire for something better, and an ability to punch hard. Upon gaining some wealth, he left his home with no regrets once his mother died. But the wider world was not accepting of the aspiring blue goblin, and he found he was as likely to be kicked as paid for work.
Then he ran into others of his kind, and received some training, but little friendship. Adoy rejected the cold relationships of his fellows and the discrimination of everyone else he had encountered. Despite this, he gained some wealth and equipment, and his happy go lucky belief that he was going to find better was maintained.
Then luck struck; both good and bad. In his travels, he encountered an old man, who was set upon by a group of bandits. Adoy leapt into the fray, fists and feet flying, shielded by the power of his mind. At the end of the battle, Adoy was covered in scratches, the surviving bandits fled, and the Oldman seemed to be breathing his last. Adoy pulled out a potion to help him, but the old man stopped him.
Why are you helping me, goblin? Not that I am unwelcoming of it he asked.
Why wouldn’t I? I can help, so I think I should. I am better than what I was, and I seek to improve Adoy replied. Now take the potion. It will save you
No, I think you will need it more. You will do. The suddenly firm voice of the old man cause Adoy to step back. A sudden tearing noise occurs behind him and he spins, seeing a tear in the air, leading to darkness and the unknown. Tentacles of shadow reach out and grab him, beginning to pull him in the rip
What is…no! You betray me!
Betray? From a certain point of view. But you have been chosen Adoy. Not by me but by something. You have a destiny. Stick by your beliefs, little Blue. They will aid you. The old man’s voice fades into the distance as Adoy is dragged from the world he knew to, where? All he can see in front of him is a, glove? Blue leather with silver spikes? Then he arrives

I'll make a decision tonight.

This is Emissary's submission: Fengari the Lunar Knight.
I'm a tad busy at the moment, so I hadn't added his backstory to the profile (I have it handwritten) but expect it to be added during the following hours.

I have added a spoiler with the "final version" of the Moonblade's abilities. Used generic term ala rulebook for ease of understanding, but if anything is confusing please do hit me up ^^

Anyway, I'll post again when his backstory is added so you know.

And finally: Good luck to all the submitters. I've seen really good ones and wish you the best of lucks to y'all.

Ps.-Fengari's equipment is actually... lackluster. But he was on duty when he was transported so he only was carrying his weapon, armor and clothes.

You know, I thought when you said give it an elemental ability that meant something like shock, fire, or frost.

Zayne Iwatani wrote:

At first I thought that too, but as I saw the submissions ad GM's answers I realized it was both an elemental ability and a special ability to design with the master.

Same. I had just picked 'fire' and thought to be done without then I saw what others were asking.

My original idea was to create a weapon of special material with a +1 bonus and an elemental ability like frost ray. When I saw the ideas, I got excited. I can control the CR if it gets over-powered. I will just raise the CR or give foes additional special abilities.

Lantern Lodge

I figured our weapons would grow but I just said what its based off of. and thought maybe the GM wanted to make something so it would be balanced but if we are making the weapons. I need to reconsider somethings. Once we start dealing with flying creatures my weapon will be useless being Earth based...

Figured the idea would grow as we play though.

EmissaryOfTheNorth wrote:

Regarding the weapon's abilities, that's where I would need GM's input as I have an idea:

Thr Lunar Knight can, at will, as a standard action fire a moonlight burst ranged attack with short range(25ft+5ft/2lvls) dealing 1d6 damage per two levels from the blade. I thought that upon successfully hitting an enemy with the beam, the target is infused with moonlight for a number of rounds equal to the Lunar Knight Level. While marked the Lunar Knight can see it as if under bright light even in pitch black darkness and as a swift action the Lunar Knight can 'travel the light beams' to teleport adjacent to it.

By the way Fengari, your class can do almost all the stuff you want the blade to do. Though Armiger's Mark doesn't light them up mechanically, it does allow you to mark an opponent that you hit and gain some lockdown abilities. So you can add that as the weapon's ability to Armiger's Mark.

Veiled Moon has teleportation strikes that mimic Diana's Lunar Rush. Just pick up the Wayward Path martial tradition and swap Veiled Moon for something you don't want.

I am not sure this works but Zweihander alloys you to use your two-handed weapon as a light shield for shield bashes and maneuvers that require a shield. I think this means you can use Throw Shell Maneuver and fling your sword. Best part is, in the maneuver it says that if you are within 2 increments (40ft) you can catch it as a free action.

So the only ability you would need to add to the blade is making the target glow when Armiger's Mark is active. Then again, moonlight isn't really an element.

Correct. Weapon would grow in power.

Sundakan wrote:

+1 Mithral Katana, with the Lightning element. It has the following ability:

Speed of the Storm: Once per day per character level, move up to twice your speed in a straight line as a swift action, dealing 1d6 damage per level to every creature or object in your path. Any object (such as a door) that blocks your path stops this movement unless it is destroyed by the damage dealt. You are immune to electricity damage until the end of your turn.

Same here. Veiled Moon's Warp Worm or Mithril Current's Crashing Wake. Both really high level maneuvers though.

While correct in everything you stated -I even picked Veiled Moon instead of Golden Lion through a trait- the reasons behind having the weapon be the conduit of the abilities is having it as a RP mechanic, with the weapon 'teaching him' -when and if I do pick the maneuvers and stances that are simmilar- and overall being where he draws the power from.

The rest of the class abilities would be both his training as a Lunar Knight and his precognitive abilities from being a Seer.

Those are both cool (and I probably will get Crashing Wake when it's available), but I wanted something I could do from 1st level.

Made some changes. Added Powerful Build as a 4RP. Should probably be at least that much. The more I remembered about them, the more I realized Powerful Build or large size is necessary. Got items.

Grand Lodge

I'm a tool, forgot to mention I had added backstory.

Anyway, echoing Alecak and Elbow: the wait is the hardest part and it's killing me.

Here is Joseph's character, Brian Longarm!
The build should be entirely done, all thats left is to continiously go over it to clean it up. (ignore the very last spoiler, that is an old character I dont want to delete)
But this should be my complete, finished submission :)

Also noticed we have a character named Brian and a character named Brin...
This should be interesting >_>

Accepted

1. Dr. Calista De-Romana
2. Brin Walker
3. Adoy the Sly
4. Ilya
5. Brian Longarm

1Alternate: Fraga

Fraga would make a good replacement if anyone drops.

Great submissions, that is why I pushed it to five. Head over to discussion thread so we can discuss how to prepare for gameplay.

Good luck. Have fun.

So should I keep an eye out on this forum or wait for a pm if someone drops?

Alecak wrote:

Both if you want. I will definitely pm you if that happens. It would be good to follow the story.

Plucked before conclusion of your daily ritual, you are sucked up into a kind of space tunnel, a wormhole, at an incredible speed. Ice is forming upon your skin, but you are moving too fast to care. Breath escapes you forcing pressure upon your head as it feels as if your brain, your eyes, your eardrums are about to explode.

BLAM! You hit the sand hard leaving you barely conscious. Suddenly, you are being dragged towards a large spire of dark, thick rock jutting upwards into the sky from the desert floor. Your body stops abruptly, about 30 yards from the tower. Your hands are clutching a weapon. An instrument of destruction with a soft violet glow. Both hands are gripped around it tightly as you struggle to regain lucid consciousness and at least sit up from the sandy dirt. A weapon has chosen you through time and space. With your head throbbing, you cannot suppress the anxiety as the question runs through your mind; what happens next?

Wanted: ONE solid PC for a homebrew campaign through time and space featuring psionics and their unique struggles and powers.

You have just been summoned by a magical weapon (+1) with a single elemental ability crafted from rare materials.

You must first describe that weapon and then choose a race and develop a background. (The ten-minute background preferred.)

I will post more info about the campaign in the campaign tab. This is not a strictly space-themed adventure as you chase your quarry through time as well.

25 point buy attributes, NO attribute lower than 9. NO exceptions.

Level 1 Gestalt- One class must be a psionic class

TWO traits; no drawback

1,000 gp starting gold

No Summoners/eidolons; meta-gamers; power gamers; this game won't work for paladins either.

Must post bi-daily minimum.

Psionic race preferred. Half-giant and Maenads are spoken for, so those submissions will not be considered.

I could quickly re-submit Kitai as a Psionic race of some kind, though I got the feeling you didn't care for the submission at all since you never gave any feedback on it.

Of course none of the Psionic races would exist in his setting anyway, so *shrug*. I can write a new backstory though, maybe from actual Feudal Japan.

You had some good ideas, I just wasn't feeling the Oblivion thing, fun as it was to play. I'm leaning towards a blue goblin for race. Marksman or Psion. I'm open to any concept, 15 racial points max, but you have to play what excites you.

Feudal Japan would be cool

Hey, my character was from a solid 1500 years before Oblivion takes place. Or any of the games, actually. A LOT of emperors get assassinated in that setting.

But anywho, I'd be rolling with pretty much the same build. I don't want to play an archer or primary "spellcaster". And Blue wouldn't really fit in Japan. Ophiduan would be neat if I could justify a lizard or dragon person, but I don't really have the room to finagle my stats to account for that Cha decrease. Or maybe I do, I'll do some fiddling. Losing that Feat will hurt though, argh. I wanted to have at least the basics of the Quick Draw thing available from the start.

Ophiduan is fine.

Tomorrow afternoon, maybe. I have my live game tonight, so no time to work on it.

Oh dang. This looks like a cool game. If there's still time, I might try to put together a swashbuckler/vitalist or psion with the Bladed Brush feat that uses a glaive made of magical ice.

If there is still time, I would like to submit a magical girl/aberrant Aegis from a "Madoka"-esque world , a girl fighting things beyond human sanity for too long and paying the price.

As a weapon I would take a nodachi that can create walls of mist obscuring vision for everyone but her.

Very interesting concept, I couldn't allow the walls of mist though. It is too powerful.

How about an acid effekt that deals some damage to living targets, but dissolves the bodies of dead enemies (maybe some extra damage against undead/constructs)

Yes to acid affect and specific extra damage. No on the dissolving of dead opponents.

I think I can finish her today, if the forum let's me

We have a vitalist and two barbarians.

Kitai Wataru (Story):

Kitai is the eldest son of the Wataru clan, one of the many native clan slost to time. Kitai was born scaled, with slitted eyes, and this was taken as a great omen for the clan, that their line had been blessed by dragons and Kitai would bring great prosperity on them. Marked for greatness from birth, he was given training in the spear and bow, and quickly elevated to the rank of Samurai among his people.

Using his reptilian features to their advantage in battle to strike fear in the hearts of rival clans on the battlefield. Though his skills were unhoned, his natural talent and off-putting appearance carried him through several battles.

It was in the midst of subjugating another clan that Kitai was pulled from this world and never seen again. His clan was routed, and declined quickly with the loss of their scion, their good omen turned into one of despair.

Personality:

Kitai is haughty and arrogant, though very honorable. Raised to believe he is the one true hope of his clan leaves him barely knowing the concept of humility. Kitai was allowed to indulge in a great many vices in his youth, having anything he desired. While life on the battlefield was sometimes uncomfortable, he is utterly unused to any prolonged period of privation.

Sheet.

Senpu no Yari:

Weapon: Spear
Element: Wind

This +1 Adamantine spear grants the following abilities:

Wind Burst: As a Swift action upon hitting and dealing damage to an enemy, Senpu no Yari can be activated to perform one of the following combat maneuvers to the damaged foe: Bull Rush, Trip, or Disarm.

Slipstream Strike: 3 times per day as a Free action Senpu no Yari can be activated to double its range increment and ignore all penalties to attack rolls due to range increments for one round. Effectively, this increases the spear's range to 200 feet with no penalty.

Favorable Winds: The bearer of Senpu no Yari finds that the air actively tries to aid them wherever it can. Perception penalties due to range are halved, the bearer's speed increases by 10 feet (and increases by another 5 feet for every 5 character levels they possess). So long as 1 Ki point remains in their Ki pool they may halve the Acrobatics DCs to jump. At character level 10 the Acrobatics DCs are reduced to 1/4 of their norm.

Tell me if that's a bit much, I thought it was in keeping with "Stagger on hit" and "Change Animal Companion daily". I need to finish gear, and then I'll be done.

The concept as far as combat role is a sort of switch-hitter, equally effective in melee and ranged combat. Later on I'll be getting Feats that let me TWF with a spear as though it were a quarterstaff along with your standard ranged/throwing weapon Feats. I was going to make him a bowman but the Spearman archetype called to me, and it is a very thematic samurai weapon, as much as a bow and even moreso than a katana.

A Healer with range is the party's request

As he slammed to the ground, gasping for air, the man found his hands locked around the haft of an elegantly curved bow. It had a polished hardwood grip, wrapped in layers of some soft, pebbly feeling leather that was cool to the touch and gave him an excellent grip. The arms of the bow were a composite of charcoal colored bone, sandwiched between thin slices of pale hardwood, all held together by a sweet smelling resin and more strips of the pebbled leather tied in intricate, wrapped knots. At various intervals along it's length, intricately carved, deep purple gemstones were embedded in the composite material.

The curve of the bow was such that, even strung by it's cord of braided fibers, interwoven with long strands of golden, silken hair, the tips of the arms nearly touched, and the weapon was small, easily something that a horseman could carry. And yet the man deemed that it would almost certainly fell an armoured knight with a single well-placed shaft driven by the power of the double curved bow arms.

After a moment the man took stock of his surroundings, reaching out with his senses and trying to find any other friendly beings in his vicinity.

******************************************

Tomas shook himself awake and lay, gasping, in his bed. The dream was coming more and more frequently, and he just couldn't seem to shake the feeling of impending doom that it brought to him.

"Well, I'm awake..." he murmured quietly as he sat up on the small cot that served him as a bed at The Abbey of Saint Elaina's Hospice. He'd been working at the Hospice as a trainee for nearly a year, honing his skills as a healer, even though he'd lived in the abbey since he was a boy. The priests and monks who ran the facility trained him to hone the power of his mind and body after his powers had emerged, but only recently had he begun to explore the mysteries of saving lives. "I suppose I should get up and see which of my patients survived through the night."

With weary motions Healer Internee Tomas Argannon began his morning ablutions and prepared to fight off Death for one more day.

*******************************************

The Striated Lingual:
Composite 'short' bow made from dragonbone and ironwood and bound by Destrachan leather, the weapon hits with the power of a powerful longbow and harnesses the power of sound to aid it's wielder in obliterating their enemies.

Not sure if you're looking for specs on the weapon as well, but I'm thinking additional range (carrying along an attack on sound waves); a sonic blast type of attack; perhaps something defensive - harmonic vibrations 'solidifying' the air around the user to protect them; and maybe some type of mesmerizing attack - basically a Siren-like effect - it could allow him to Charm those who can hear it? I'm just spit balling, and I'm kinda tired, so my muse is in a weird mood. :D

Tomas Argannon:
Class: Since the party is requesting a ranged healer, I'm thinking Vitalist, coupled with either Marksman or Zen Archer. That would be in keeping with the Psionic theme, and allow the character to aid his fellows by not only healing them, but also doing the sniper thing and sitting on high to observe and coordinate.

Race: I'm thinking either Elan or Maenad. Elan would have that otherwordly feel, which, when coupled with the 'adventure through time and space' would, I think, be pretty fun. Maenad is, of course, very apropos for bonding with a weapon who's powers are based on Sound. :D

I'm just not sure which of those I want to take yet.

Just re-read the player request and saw that Maenad was taken, so that makes for a much easier choice: Elan it is. :) (Unless you agree with me that Maenad is too thematically cool :D)

Appearance: This will, obviously, depend on what race I go with. But in general, Tomas is somewhat small (short), but is in reasonably good shape and has well defined, if not huge, muscles due to his work with the monks. He has sharp eyes that are very observant of the world around him, and when he's not lost in a book, be is a keen watcher of the world around him. As he is a trainee, he dresses in simple robes with little adornment. This being an Abbey, he lives a life of simple asceticism (other than his guilty pleasure/secret of all his reading/fantasizing).

Personality: Tomas, despite being in his early twenties, is a world weary and jaded healer trainee. He grew up in a small village where he was in training with a local herbalist. He was doing reasonably well, but then his powers were accidentally discovered when he healed a sick animal. He was sent to the Abbey of Saint Elaina to train with the Monks and learn to not only control his powers, but to learn the proper, and ethical way to use them in service of his fellow beings.

Tomas, however, is very intelligent, much more so than most of those around him, and thus wasn't content with his place as an trainee. He devoured the Abbey library and learned about the wider world through various fictional and factual stories. He is still young and naive, despite being wearied by all of the human (and other races) suffering he's already had to learn to deal with in his young life, but he desperately wants to find himself as the hero in his own story.

Ok, that's the capsule view/pitch. What do you think DeathbySuburbs ?

Welcome aboard! A charm would be too advantageous, but additional sonic damage would be cool.
