здравствуйте!
(Of course, using Russian to obfuscate works better if there is nobody there who speaks it. Or am I there? In a sort of way..)
I think we've got past the initial meeting quite neatly. A bit of bristling, of misunderstanding, is to be expected before those already on site realise why these other folk are here. Just stay friends OOC whatever your characters might do.

Yea, that was all in character. In fact to be honest, Barret hasn't even realized what's happened. So no worries at all.

This is probably a better spot to be discussing things like marching orders. Leave the game thread for the game.
I agree that in confined areas that Dillan should be in front as traps/perception are going to be his forte.
I would prefer to be near or at the front as well, as I will have limited mobility at this level (20ft). Being at the front also allows me to take advantage of the reach weapon and combat reflexes.
Barret can move around easily so having you further back shouldn't hinder too much other than the first round charge.
I would almost prefer if all the squishies weren't right at the back because if something comes up from behind, there is some serious trouble.
Thoughts?

You may have a point there. So how about in a tight corridor, having Dillan and Arturin in the front, Cassandra and Tre in the middle while Merian and Barret protect the back?
I think we should only need one toughy at the back to protect the squishy ones like me, Is Merian a squishy or a reasonable toughy? Cos I'd rather Barret near the front. At 3rd front he won't have too much difficulty getting by us squishies to get to the back if needs be. It may dependon whether Dillan is feels he can do the scouting ahead, being in danger himself?

That was my thought on the subject as well. As long as Merian is okay with that of course.

I am good with anywhere you want Barret to be. From what I gather, she is a battle oracle and should be reasonably tough so she could handle protecting the casters. As far as Dillan goes, its up to him whether he wants the front. Barret has some perception to spot things, but not as good as Dillan's of course.

I'm fine with Dillan being at the front for the 'dungeon' type scenarios. Its actually where he would feel the most comfortable besides the evident danger that may loom ahead.
Its in the open fields or if we entered a gigantic 60x60 room that he would start to feel uneasy with being in the front.
He knows his lot in life...and besides the trap finding and removal is what I designed him for! :D

Hmmm...yes I suppose Merian will want to be nearer the front as it keeps more with her character....Barrat strikes me as a 'let's hit it guy'. Artuin, a disciplined soldier. It might be better with Merian and Artuin in front, character wise, both seem army types, battle hardened and all that. Barrat, maybe a loose canon and more suited to the back, but very liable to get involved and leave the squishies exposed. I think Artuin and Merian might share back duties, as both understand the tactics of war. Tre doesn't really understand battle tactics and stuff, he's seen it and maybe studied it a bit, but it bores him. Unless its battle magic. I leave it for the warriors to decide, too complicated for me.
And one other thing.....
Just so you know...I'm gone Friday to Monday this weekend....
...its festival time, a good old fashion rock festival...Judas Priest and Dream Theater will be entertaining us.
..oh and the beer festival at the same place...
...almost heaven.

What's all this, then?
No, I didn't get the job :( Fed up with being pipped by people who merely fancy a change of post instead of actually needing a job!
Good that you have sorted what your approach will be for once you get into a dungeon-type situation.

Gen con here in the states covers the same time frame. I'll be leaving Wednesday and won't be back until Sunday night. I'll have my laptop with me but won't be able to post frequently.

That's me too. (Actually, down to the travel times. Spooooky.) I'm running Heroes of Rokugan pretty much every slot from Thursday morning through Saturday night.

Happy to pause until next week if you'd prefer. And if folks would like to consider their next level it would not be entirely inappropriate to do so :)
Heroes of Rokugan sounds rather fun. I have a section on RPG Resource for shared campaigns, must go and add it to the listing. That's the trouble with these things, unless you're involved, you rarely hear about them!
But they are fun. I DMed Living Greyhawk, ran the UK side of Living Force and helped set up the original Living Spycraft, writing for the last two... but have not been involved for a while although I now run both Pathfinder Society and Shadowrun Missions as online games.

I quite like my roll!
The method I use in my RL games is that the player rolls HP and can then decide whether he wants to use his roll or have the DM roll HP and whatever comes up is what is used. Makes the players really think about using those mid range rolls or if they want to chance it and potentially end up with a 1.
