Someone, I don't recall who, asked about languages.
Ustalav doesn't have one of its own, folks there speak common, Skald and Varisian.
That was me again.... :) thanks...I'll take Osirian or Ancient Osirian to give me access to those necromantic spells, it seems to make that part hang together better.

Hey Megan, ever hear of the Godling class from Super Genius Games? How do you feel about it? Reason I ask is I always like to have a backup character in case my first one dies, and I just got this one in PDF Form (the Godling that is) and was curious if you knew anything about it / if you would allow it.
Just in case my summoner dies of course. I have a tendency to lose characters >.> *remembers the game where he lost 4 characters in a total of 8 weeks*
The Godling PDF is here - The Godling Class

Shame stomphoof! No negativity yet! We haven't even started! lol
I should tell you the story of when I lost 4 characters in roughly 8 weeks.
So me and my pals get together, and I am getting to play. I make a Dwarven Wizard (specialist Transmuter) for fun. He has been clean shaven to show his shame and his scalp and face burned to prevent hair regrowth (proper dwarves not being wizards)
In the first town a Dwarven barbarian sees me, realizes what I am, and start plotting to kill me. Within 2 sessions my character is dead thanks to this guy beheading me.
So I make a new character, a human fighter with an 18 Intelligence, designed to be a tactical fighter / ex noble. He literally spoke every language at the start of the game but druidic (and loved to play chess). He was cooked alive in his plate mail thanks to a heat metal spell from a Quasit (at 1st level...weee)
Next up, the barbarian with the 4 int, who charged an Ettin (at 1st level). He lasted 10 minutes in game time. Got his head removed like a teeball.
Up after him was a Ranger who fancied himself a dragon slayer (favored enemy, dragon). He got knocked out in 1 combat (-7 HP) and our Cleric decided to just let him rest it away. During the night a critter attacked, targetted my already near death unconcious guy. Dead in 1 hit.
So yea, I like to have backups given my luck. Its never gone much better since. My character usually have something horrible happen to em lol

Ouch...though I have had a friend at my table go through 3 characters in one night. Bad rolls. In fact with one he got the worst possible fumble chart roll and pretty much killed himself. Didn't help he was the only one squaring off with two ogres while the rest of the party decided to 'play' archer.

Own it! :D
And yes I actually bought after having my group do the "You look like a trustworthy fellow!"
"Lift with the legs Rogar, not with the back!"
"I crawl down the hall, an inch at a time, looking for traps!"
DM: "Your gonna back stab him?"
Player: "Uh huh"
DM: "With a ballista?"
Player: "Uh huh"
DM: "With a freakin siege weapon?! There has got to be a rule against this.....Nope."
Love the first movie The Gamers, have not seen the second yet :)

The waiting is over, the bated breaths may be let out...
And we're off!
Before you scamper over, my rules are simple.
1. Have fun.
2. Be nice to each other at least OOC. Perferably IC as well, but if you have a difference of opinion that's genuinely IC, so be it.
3. Keep OOC comments for here, unless they're brief and apposite.
4. Try to drop by daily, or post on here if you know you are going to be busy or away from Internet access. I'll not kill anyone off just because they are not around. (You are excused on weekends, as Real Life tends to intrude).
5. Please use the board die roller. So will I unless I have a good reason for not making the roll public.
6. When we go into combat, I'll ask for initiatives - as well as rolling for it, please state your action and do any necessary die rolls to resolve it. (Conditional actions as well, if you wish.) I shall make a summary post for the round once you have all posted or 24 hours have passed (weekends excluded). Continue in the same manner each round until combat is concluded.
7. You are responsible for tracking your own character's hit points and other conditions. And cash! Stay honest.
8. Have fun!!!! That's an order.
Thank you very much for asking me to run this game. Now let's go have fun with it :)

Posted!!! And I just wanted to say thank you again Megan for doing this! And the absolute generosity of players for buying the AP!
EDIT: Megan I just thought of a last minute question: I purchased Cure Light Wounds potions, what's your ruling on their amount healed? Is it a d8+1 or d8+3? Myself I normally rule their a d8+3 since to brew potion it requires a 3rd lvl caster. But it's your game so I don't want to make any assumptions or deal with it when the time comes that I use one.

Also in and posted. Thanks again for running this for us. I hope we prove worthy.
-Edit-
Except Paizo frowns on distribution of their PDFs in that fashion, otherwise I'd do the same. -grumblegrumble-
As I said, if all else fails, when we get near to the end of this chapter I can pick up the next one :)

Nesser and Terrick are better off rolling their Initiatives separately.
CLW potions cure 1d8+3 damage.
Um, and as said, Paizo do not condone AP subscribers passing their PDFs to third parties, even if said third parties are GMing for the subscriber!
Fingers crossed I get a job soon then do not need to scrounge!

Getting a job is always good :) But my offer stands regardless! :) I have a bit of disposable income generally, I would just have to not buy a PDF for myself is all (hehehehehehe)
Nesser and Terrick shall be rolling seperately then!

Purchasing them separately would actually make them go into your account differently. They both show up as a purchase in terms of the order details, but purchasing a copy for somebody else doesn't put it in your downloads list, so you could buy a copy for yourself and for the GM at the same time if you were interested in having a copy.

Hi, Stomphoof. On here, I am running: -
Curse of the Crimson Throne, having picked up where another DM dropped out.
Kingmaker - again picked up when the DM found he was too busy and went hunting for a replacement.
Legacy of Fire II - this is the game with a PC Pseudodragon in it.
Council of Thieves - which I am not sure will last, the players seem to have lost interest :(
And a certain Carrion Crown game that you might have noticed...
I also run Pathfinder Society on RPOL, where I have two parties on the go.
It's all down to meticulous organisation: a daily morning 'sweep' with a minimum of two browser windows open - one with the game I'm looking at, the other with a PDF of the adventure (I built a web-style viewer system for all my RPG PDFs, very useful for both gaming and reviewing purposes!). Then an image-handler (PaintShopPro) to cook up the maps, which are posted to a hidden directory on one of my websites so that I can share them with you.
So now you know :)

Thank you for your confidence...
I'll lift the curtain and let you have a peek: According to the AP, you needed a DC 20 Diplomacy roll to talk them down. But I prefer to do social interaction through role-play rather than die rolls.
Are you happy with that style of play? This game is for your pleasure, after all.
Radavel, you may move up to 3 build points at your next level up :)
By the way, I tend to periodically announce, "Congratulations, level up please" when we reach suitable points in the adventure, rather than mess around with tracking XP individually. Naturally, the overall performance of the group influences just how quickly that time comes about.
Keep it up, dear hearts: you have made a magnificant start and I'm honoured to have the pleasure of GMing for you.

Personally I like to use my social skills for something, but if thats how you wanna run it thats fine too :)
Kinda helps avoid things like giving a good speech and then rolling a 3 (like I did, b&~@*%$s!)
Just telling us to level is fine too. Whatever makes things easier for you :)

I'm a fan of the, "Congrats, level-up" style. Takes a lot of potential drama out of it, and the tension over heading into things without quite having enough experience for the next level. The social thing works. It helps in situations like we ran into, and it can bite back if things were reversed. Makes us to get into things a bit more. :)
Thanks for doing this. I know we kinda forced a group together. :)

It's always a balancing act, and if you put no points into social skills and no effort into role-playing their use, then you can hope the dice smile on you...
... but if you put in the effort to come up with something convincing and the dice won't cooperate, I don't want to see you penalised just because the board die-roller let you down. Oddly if all you did was go "Um" and scratch yourself, rolling a string of natural 20s won't make my NPCs think you're eloquent!

*nods* I figured you could just add a circumstance bonus for good roleplay.
But hey, dont let me tell ya how to run a game :) I am having fun so I dont mind at all! :D
Also, anyone gonna comfort the crying girl? Anyone? Or should the half orc try?

Hey Guys, a warning for ya!
May 13th is my birthday, my wifes birthday (yes, same day) and our Wedding Anniversary. We are going to be going out of town for that weekend (13th, 14th, 15th) and I will be AWOL until the evening of the 15th. So during that time I will not be posting.
You guys can just NPC me for that weekend. I wanted to give ya like a weeks notice so you know whats going on :)
Thanks in advance :D
