Anga steps back 5 feet, and casts burning hands on orc 1, 2 and 3, trusting to the corner behind her vs orc, er, golden sword, and that kaos is shielded from the spell by the wall he is next too.

Round Two recap

Mordea hits the fifth Orc with a crossbow bolt. Then climbs down from the crow's nest. She jumps the last ten feet, but twists her ankle on the deck landing prone.

Haskyll moves across the boat's topside deck and drives his spear into the sixth Orc killing the green intruder.

The powerful burned Orc pulls out a Falchion and twice hacks into the Dwarf Ranger Barbarian.

The first Orc attacks Anga, nearly critically hacking into the Dwarf Wizard. The second Orc moves to get at Anga too, but stumbles and drops his Flachion.

@Anga- You missed your AoO against the second Orc.

The third Orc blocks the starboard side stairs heading to the rower's deck. The fourth and fifth Orcs attack the fallen Rogue, but miss their hacks against the human female. The seventh and eighth Orcs didn't miss anything. They both strike Bloodtusk. The Captain falls to the deck unconscious.

Then ninth Orc moves then attacks Haskyll. He strikes the Dwarf Cleric.

Ghorza hacks into the fifth Orc, but it was Sharg's blow that killed it. The Coxswain organizes the rowers to go topside.

Kaos moves up and nearly engages the Orc at the top of the stairs to the topside deck.

Anga steps back five feet. A fan of flames burn the first, second, and third Orcs. Kaos feels the heat from the flames, but is unharmed by them. The first and third Orc take the full brunt of the flames. The second Orc the stairs has its legs singed.

Just forward the hold person action to this round then. Hold person DC16 will save. Is the map being updated? I see all the orcs in one room near Kaos, and none of them near Mordea. If there aren't any orcs in front of where Ragnir is, he'll continue forward to the door that leads to the next set of stairs that leads to the top deck.


@Ragnir - Maps are being updated. Orcs 1 thru 3 are on Anga and Kaos. Orc 4 is on Mordea. 7 and 8 are currently on the Captain. 9 is on Haskyll. 5 and 6 are dead. The burned Orc is on Ulfgard.

The burned Orc sneers at Ulfgard when the Ranger-Barbarian misses his attacks. His sneer changes as Ulfgard parries away the burned Orcs further attacks.

The first Orc becomes ferocious and screams at Anga. Its breath and spittle were foul like rotten eggs. It takes a step and delivers a wicked blow against the Dwarf Wizard.

The second Orc escaped the worse of Anga’s Burning Hands. Without its Falchion, the Orc takes a step up the stairs pulling out a Javelin. It hurls the pointy stick at Dwarf Wizard, but Anga was unconscious just as the javelin passes and sticks in the back walls to the stables.

The third Orc screams through the pain and turns on the big Human coming up the stairs. But its strike bounces off Kaos' magic shield.

The fourth Orc continues its attack on the female human Rogue. But the capable Rogue dodged the heavy blade.

Orcs 5 and 6 are dead.

Haskyll has a choice of AoO on either 7 or 8. Since you are ahead of the Orcs in the Round, your actions could change some of this. However, if you step back and attack without killing Orc 9, then Orc 9 will take a step and attack.

The Ninth Orc stays on the Dwarf Cleric, nearly achieving a critical hack into Haskyll.

Ghorza was distracted just enough to receive a hew from the seventh Orc. Ghorza hacks back at the green mongrel. Green blood splatters about as Ghorza's handaxe cuts into Orc flesh.

As the ninth Orc approaches Haskyll, the Dwarf Cleric skewers the green cur.

Round Three recap

As Mordea stands, the fourth Orc cuts into the Rogue. Mordea was not able to return the favor.

Haskyll, with a precognition of a near critical strike looming, instead kills the ninth Orc.

The first Orc brings its Falchion down heavy on the poorly armored Wizard. Anga goes unconscious and falls to the deck of the boat.

The second Orc takes a javelin and heaves it at the Dwarf Wizard. But Anga was falling to the deck. The javelin sticks into the back wall of the stables.

The third Orc hacks at Kaos. But its Falchion is deflected by the big human's magic shield.

The fourth Orc slashes at the Rogue, missing the nimble female.

The seventh Orc cuts into Ghorza. The eighth one misses Sharg.

Bloodtusk stabilizes. Ghorza and Sharg hit the seventh and eighth Orcs respectively.

Kaos makes sure that the third Orc is out of the way. The third Orc falls down...dead.

While unconscious, Anga fails to cast a Shield defensively.

Ulfgard Agrimmoshes and bashes the burned Orc. The formidable Orc weathered the blows.

Seeing the Warpriest coming up from the bilge, the Coxswain allows the Dwarf to pass. With Kaos on the right stairs, Ragnir takes the left, casting Hold Person against the first Orc.

Mordea stabs the fourth Orc.

Haskyll skewers the fourth Orc. It becomes ferocious.

Round Five mostly

Both Haskyll's and Mordea's attacks were parried by the fourth Orc.

Orc 1 Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

The first Orc remains held.

The second Orc, once again with Falchion in hand, moves down the stairs. He hears another coming up from below. He turns and engages Halrex. The blow glances off the Coxswain's magic leather armor.

Orc 2 w/Falchion vs Halrex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 142d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 = 9

The fourth Orc continues its duel with the Human female. But its hack was clumsy and off balanced.

Orc 4 w/Falchion vs Mordea: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 62d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 3) + 4 = 9

The seventh Orc turns its attention toward Sharg continuing its success against Bloodtusk and his crew.

Orc 7 w/Falchion vs Sharg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 152d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9

The hapless eighth Orc also attacks Sharg. But this time its blow lands firm with a spray of mottled Half-Orc blood. Sharg falls.

Orc 8 w/Falchion vs Sharg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 202d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12

Ghorza Constitution check: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 1 - 2 = 10

Ghorza stabilizes....barely.

Coxswain Halrex, with a shortsword in hand, stabs at the second Orc, slipping the blade in between the folds in the armor. The second Orc becomes ferocious.

Coxswain w/shortsword vs Orc 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 171d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The burned Orc continues its attack on the Ranger Barbarian. Its first strike caused enough damage to drop Ulfgard.

Burned Orc w/Falchion vs Ulfgard 1: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 252d4 + 9 ⇒ (2, 2) + 9 = 13

Ulfgard takes 13 points of damage and falls at -4.

The burned Orc turns his attention onto the big human with a pained smile. It nearly lands a critical strike on Kaos.

Kaos takes 15 points of damage.

But Kaos takes that smile right off its face. The burned Orc will never again be in pain as Kaos' strike with his big axe kills the powerful Orc.

Mordea continues her shortsword play with the fourth Orc. Her slash severs an artery in its throat. Green blood sprays all over the female Rogue. "Ewww," Mordea briefly shivers and shakes.

The fourth Orc stares at the Rogue. It then slumps to the deck and dies.

Round Six

Mordea finishes off the fourth Orc in a gooey spray of green blood.

Haskyll drives his spear at the eighth Orc, but the green cur deflected the thrust.

The first Orc comes around and is no longer held.

Orc 2 w/Falchion vs the Coxswain: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 192d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 = 11

The second Orc chops into the female Orc crewmember. Her green blood begins to spill out onto the wooden steps.

The seventh Orc moves around the eighth to get at Haskyll. But Haskyll holds his ground and pierces the ferocious Orc. The seventh Orc dies on the giant broken spear.

Orc 8 w/Falchion vs Haskyll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 202d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 2) + 4 = 10

The eighth Orc, seeing the Dwarf occupied with the seventh one, gets a hack into the Cleric.

Haskyll takes 10 points of damage. These guys have been tough.

Sharg Constitution check: 1d20 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (4) + 1 - 6 = -1

Sharg is dying.

Coxswain w/shortsword vs Orc 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Coxswain Halrex, wounded from the ferocious Orc's blow, responds with a feeble thrust that was easily deflected.

The burned Orc stays dead.

As the first Orc comes around, it was able to quickly dodge Kaos' oversized axe.

Ulfgard is still unconscious.

Ragnir, being more Priest than War, provides healing to the Ranger Barbarian. Ulfgard regains consciousness.

The first Orc didn't last much longer in the end as Anga's Magic Missile finishes it off.

Round Seven

Mordea moves and jumps on the boat's vent to the lower deck, not quite getting a flank against the eighth Orc. But she does stab the wretched cur with her shortsword.

Haskyll moves back a little and drived the broken spear into the eighth Orc. Its eyes practically pop out of their sockets. It falls to the wooden deck, dead.

The second Orc continues to go after the Coxswain. It cuts Halrex again, but the female Orc still stands.

The Coxswain presses again her attack against the second Orc. The female Orc returns blows with the Orc intruder. It also still stands.

Kaos moves against the second Orc, stomping on the dead first Orc with zeal. The big human brings his giant axe down hard on the last standing Orc. He nearly cleaves the green humanoid into two pieces. It is real dead.

Ulfgard rises in pain from his wounds.

Ragnir moves to the dying crewmember. He will stabilize Sharg.

No apologies necessary. That was a tough fight. Several fell and almost everyone had injuries. The scattered nature made it a greater challenge. At least no one was lost.

On all the Orcs you will find Falchions and Javelins. In addition, on the burned Orc you will find 120gp, a fancy belt, two vials, a fire ward jel and a letter. The letter reads:

I have learned that his killers are traveling to Ghostlight Marsh by riverboat. Don't worry-there is no need for you to set foot in the swamp. There is a marker on the northern bank of the Esk. Look for a stone carved with a circle of thorns-that is where Skreed's killers will dock. Board the boat and unleash your fury upon them. With luck, I will be on board as well and will join you. Together, we shall avenge Skreed. Do this and the formula is yours.

Bloodtusk and his other unconscious crewmembers come around. With a big sigh the Captain says, "Report."

Recovering from her injuries herself, Halrex reports much of the details. The party and other crewmembers fills in any gaps. "This Melira should be keel hauled. But she will fetch a good price at market. I don't turn down a chance for profit. Particularly when this one has nearly cost us," Bloodtusk comments.

Kaos will note that the Belt and two vials radiate magic.
