I love the maps in this game.
Credit for that goes to co-author Zak S, who's a wonderful painter. The adventure started as a giant mosaic painting he did, and then his co-author Patrick Stuart (no relation to Captain Picard) turned it into a dungeon map with descriptions which they both tweaked.
Here's a link to the full painting from Satyr Press. (Warning, 22MB image file, slightly NSFW). The DropBox preview is currently broken, but you can download the image to view it in its full glory.
It's a wee bit spoiler-y, but will likely just terrify you with what still lies ahead ...

I don't see the danger in letting me heal everyone and get all my spells back.
Vote for long.

Thratch |

I'll vote long rest because that's what the DM said. But as a note, we should be taking an average of two short rests between each long. If we don't, were going to seriously weaken our warlocks.

Wan'di |

Moving the extended OC talk here. Just trying to organize
1) We have had a long rest, unless your character is deliberately hiding information we talked about what you saw off screen. If you have something to hide now is the time to mention it.
The bridge area has multiple exits, not just the room we are in and the mosaic room I saw. The mosaic room I saw has limitations of saying it will kill the 4th person crossing it, while the first three need to sing or dance or bleed. That's why I'm saying keep the size small.
2) It sounds like it doesn't particularly matter because no one wants the swords. That means I can send an Unseen Servant to lock the door if we so choose. I would prefer not to, it takes 10 monutes

1. Unless you guys play it differently, I don't read a spoiler tag unless my name is on it. It helps me not metagame. So me and my character would only know as much as was told to me as Thratch and Tenchi just did. I still haven't read the spoiler, but I have an idea what happened, that way if they missed a detail that becomes important later, I don't have to pretend I don't know to stay in character, I just actually don't know.
2. Ashlyn is definitely interested in the swords. Even if she doesn't get one the idea of leaving magic artifacts behind for someone else to find and maybe use against her later does not appeal to her. The charisma boost is also very appealing, and we don't even know what the other two do. It would be a real shame to just leave the Sword that cuts deminsions behind when it could have teleported us out of this place, and we never bothered to look.

A Lys |

I'm struggling to keep up with all that's going on and what the options are.
Lys can actually use a longsword, if that's what they count as (I'm pretty sure it was said they did) so they're not without value, though she doesn't attach much value to possessions in general, so won't lose any sleep over leaving them behind.

Thratch |

I believe our options are:
1) Go into the door that was magically locked. This is the same room with the rope bridges that will have multiple exits (I think) and the room the bird men just went through. The swords are the key to this room, so going this way means leaving them behind.
2) Go back through the shadow room we just came in from. This will lead us back to the room where we had the fight, but it also has a two exits:
A) The stairway room where the stairs are like an Escher painting.
B) Back to the room we entered the maze in, which also has another exit that Aterro and Ashlyn went through.
3) Ask the bird men accompanying us about any other options.
Taking option 2 or 3 will let us keep the swords with us. Taking option 1 means leaving the swords behind.

OK, guys. Look like you are still confusing the map.
Let me make a basic map:
The only thing I don't know is how Aterro and Ashlyn went from the entrance to the stairs without passing the center chamber.

A Lys |

I tried working through something like that, but got very quickly confused.
What further routes do we know, presumably the Roper Bridges lead somewhere? So if we're trying to get over the Rope Bridges we can either all go through the sword/throne door and leave the blades behind. Risk the wrath of more than 3 traveling through the mosaic room (is it a risk to less than 3, what if 2 people travelled through it while we were sleeping, would that mean the second of us gets it?
Or split up?

Thratch |

Thank you for the map! I forgot about the mosaic room.
Ashlyn and Aterro went to the wedding room straight from the entrance; then they went to the Escher stairs (I think).

Ashlyn Fairchild |

When you guys went to room two, Ashlyn and Attero found a creature that teleported them to a room with 3 exits. One went to the wedding chamber that had 2 more unexplored exits. Another went to the stairway Tenchi found us in. Unfortunately I fell from the stairs that lead to that room and fell 30 feet and gravity shifted 90degrees from where I was. So going back to the stairs is not an option unless you can fly, and even then maybe not. Because when Attero used his boots of flying to come down the 30 foot drop to me, he still fell when the gravity shifted.

Really nice work on that map, Wan!

Ashlyn Fairchild |

Well, this next post should be interesting. During our long rest I forgot to roll to recharge my wand of magic missile, so I am going to do that here.
wand of magic missile charges: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

DM Critic |

I love how much chaos a well-timed random encounter roll can create. :)
So many horrible directions this whole situation can go...

Ashlyn Fairchild |

Not to mention I got the worst possible roll on my wild magic roll. 10 extra rolls on the table! Still, it's fun.

DM Critic |

Warsor posted for the initial recruitment but had to drop out due to scheduling issues. He's been following along since.

DM Critic |

Also, since you guys have been so good,
Map of the Known Universe so far
These are the places you've been on the map so far, with labels.

DM Critic |

We're waiting on Lys. I'll bot tonight if I don't see anything to keep things moving.
I figured folks were busy yesterday (I certainly was).

DM Critic |

The Cryers are in the room marked Sword Room.
As far as posting, you can if you wish, but not required. The dice may decide to interrupt your crying spell soon enough. With that much noise something is bound to hear you.

DM Critic |

By the book it's 5 minutes, but that's a really long time in combat.

Damn dice are ruining my fun. :(
Still, plenty more other horrors await you.

Ashlyn Fairchild |

We can do it however you like, but, I think we may need to stay in initiative since I have to roll on the wild magic chart at the beginning of each of my next 9 turns.

DM Critic |

We can keep going round by round since things are pretty hurried for those of you on the run from the Curator. You can keep rolling wild magic before your actions.
