Thurrios the Forgiving |
FYI. I'll be in town and able to play hard through Thursday. After that, the wife and I and our wee little nipper are going on a Disney cruise. Yes, it promises to be the most awesome vacation ever. Anyways, so I'll be out from 3 April - 12 April, and will be back up and running on the 13th.

Just to be clear, I intend to roleplay Julius as smart and thus eloquent in speech. But this does not mean he will always say the right things as his Charisma is not super amazing, just a little above average.
Marossa |
Hey everyone, I'm sorry I haven't been active in this campaign, I've been struggling with real world issues that are sapping my time and that's been preventing me from keeping up with everybody's much faster posting rate than I can currently give this campaign. I hope my schedule frees up soon but I can't promise it. Therefore, all I can say is that I will post when I can, but if you are willing DM Mahorfeus, you can DMPC Marossa as you see fit. If that's unworkable, I can bow out to make things smoother for the group rather than waiting for me to post.
Mahorfeus |
I'm sorry to hear that, Kiradia. I know real life can be a real chore, so I understand completely. Unfortunately, I do want to keep some kind of momentum going, particularly because I am afraid of having the game stagnate like it did before.
That being said, there really isn't a way to have Marossa part from the group at the moment short of her dying, which would be a huge waste in my opinion. So for the time being, I will go ahead and run her as you ask, at times when you are unable to post. But if your situation doesn't improve by the time the group reaches safety (the monastery, etc.), I think I will have to go ahead and have her stick with the NPCs. From thereon out, I'd say that you are welcome to return if things do eventually look up for you. I hope that sounds fair to you; I loathe the idea of having to eject anybody from the party. :(
Just for the record to everyone in general, if we do end up with five people for whatever reason, it is more than likely that I won't be recruiting for a sixth.

2 weeks... and now 4pm... but i have internet back... just in time for the long weekend to try and catch up to everything i missed.
Thanks for not leaving me in the dust :P
Mahorfeus |
I hope everyone had a good Easter weekend! I am planning on moving things along later today. (For the record, I am not sure why I am posting this so danged late.)
It looks like I will be GMPCing Thurrios and (likely) Marossa for this upcoming encounter. If any of you have any general thoughts about what kind of marching order you want to have for the party, I'd be more than happy to hear them.
Anapa Scion of Anubis |
Where can i drop in? :P

Just to make sure... is she a gnoll...?

No problem, she's apparently a kinder-gentler harpy.
I've always been of the opinion that if the NPC/monster starts talking before the fight, maybe you're supposed to parlay, so we did!

Luckely im not LS :P

Any reason why we shouldn't try and get a night's rest at Undrella's? Maybe after disposing of gnoll bodies? Maybe Undrella wants to eat the bodies?
For all intents and purposes, Undrella is considered helpful at the moment, so it wouldn't be out of the question. That is, if you don't mind cozying up with a harpy.

Are we planning to replace Marossa, GM Mahorfeus? I think we will be a little light on the healing without her. Unless Almah's crew can keep up a steady potion inventory on the cheap, I think we will be handicapping ourselves a bit without some more divine love. If that snake encounter is any kind of indicator that is.
Mahorfeus |
Sorry for the delay, guys. I had intended to put up the combat map sooner but ended up waiting a little longer than necessary. It shouldn't take too long to mock up a rough map of the immediate area. Probably won't be as "detailed" as the bridge map was, but it should get the job done.
That being said, I know some of you are already, but is everybody here familiar with the website Roll20? Some of the maps later on are going to be next to impossible to present using the spreadsheet, so I've been spending some time familiarizing myself with the site. I won't have access to some of the fancier features it has, but I honestly don't think I'll be needing them. We won't be using it just yet, but I do encourage everyone to sign up for an account.
On another note, it occurs to me that I did not actually answer Julius' question here; we had discussed it a bit elsewhere, but I should probably let you all know. Chances are, around the next time you head back to the monastery, I'll officially drop off Marossa and open recruitment for a character with some healing ability.
Also, I think I brought it up sooner, but since the party has changed since the start, I should have reminded everybody. Father Zastoran does indeed sell potions, though the selection is limited. These include potions of cure light wounds, cure moderate wounds, delay poison and lesser restoration; he also sells nonmagical holy water. Furthermore, he sells them at half price (at Almah's insistence). Naturally he isn't too happy about that, but it is always something to fall back on if you don't feel like relying on a healer-type.

Never used. But can try.

Narkû |
It is mid morning, correct?
If I am reading the map correctly, I suggest inspecting/searching the building the boar came from, drag the bodies (including boar) into that same building, and then moving further into the Kelmarane and checking on the buildings to the north west.

Sorry for my ignorance, are we currently employed by the Packmasters or is this ruined village currently controlled by the Pactmasters?
I am asking to determine if this Pactmaster Guardsmen Armor would be of assistance to us infiltrating this area?
Mahorfeus |
It's fine, I can reiterate a few of the details - these are things all of your characters would know (unless you choose for them not to).
The Pactmasters of Katapesh (the mysterious ruling body of the nation) are the ones who ordered Almah to hire adventurers (you) to reclaim the village from the gnolls.
The gnolls only moved in two years ago, but twenty years ago, something happened that caused the village to become abandoned. The dead guards are a sign that the Pactmasters were somehow involved with what happened. You don't of course, know how or why.
The armor is a clue and/or loot. It won't be of much use for infiltrating the village... the rest you have to draw your own conclusions on.
Thurrios the Forgiving |
As an aside, on the OOC end...
The words, pagan, heretic, and infidel, are used almost interchangeably, and incorrectly, here on Earth. There's no reason to believe that the same wouldn't be done on Golarion as well. I personally try and be acutely aware of the differences between them, and their similarities, and as Thurrios' puppeteer, I think I'll ensure he does the same.
A big difference between Thurrios and myself though, is that for example, while I recognize that different does not necessarily equal wrong, Thurrios might be a bit more black and white with Sarenrae's faith. Baptists, Methodists, and Catholics do not regularly run around ostracizing one another and killing each other for their religious differences, at least not for some time here in America. Thurrios however, well, and we don't know enough about the intricacies of various sects (teams?) of the Dawnflower's worship, but presumably there are some that Thurrios would not view as Orthodox Dawnflowerites. Those heretics will be given the chance to repent and fall in line.
Should the time come, don't expect me to be able to have Thurrios give huge amounts of liturgical discourse on how they are doing it wrong though, but suffice it that he does so, even though I can't properly type in everything he would say.
In the mean time, this is the second fallen temple of Sarenrae that Thurrios has encountered. The first has been cleansed, and hopefully this one will as well.
GM: As we go about, Thurrios is constantly interested in any trinkets, baubles, or even larger pieces of Sarenrae's faith that can be found. Roadside shrines, wandering priests, etc, will all pique his interest.
Sarala |
That's fair, I'm not going to expect anyone to be thoroughly schooled in the liturgical traditions of a fictional religion! While Sarala can't properly articulate what she means in character, she's actually talking about non-mainstream religious traditions, such as what her tribe would have (animistic traditions with a local patron god).
Sarala is generally not supposed to be particularly careful about word choice, and will throw out words willy nilly that vaguely describe her meaning, and she'll never be prepared to speak deeply about anyone else's theology, so no worries about having to type it out. I certainly won't expect it.
