My exposure to organized RP is almost nonexistent. My knowledge of the PFS is limited to the flavor in Golarion's lore and nothing else.
I would like to ask if you wouldn't mind refraining from breaking the fourth wall in game. I'm not really interested in that.

I don't mind some silliness, but it should be spoilered or placed here in the discussion. If it's easier to think of it this way, jokes in [ooc] or spoilers are completely fine even if written "in character", but it would be preferred if my character isn't placed in a position where he has to respond to it in character. Because he won't understand.
I know you're just having some fun. I'm not trying to be mean. :-)

To address your question in the gameplay thread...am I to assume there is some kind of reward for doing this in the PFS? Because if so, I'm going to assume that's an auto-knowledge for Julius and Sarala. I myself don't know.
Also, does it have to be the whole body? Or will the brooch suffice?

I'm happy with Julius' response to Thurrios, so it's up to you. At this point, I wouldn't want you to edit it to the point that everyone's subsequent posts become incomprehensible. I often re-read my PbPs because it's fun to read "the story" we're making together.
If you feel you can reword it in such a way that everyone else will still sound sane in response, then go for it. If not, your cleverness is fine as is.

You do know it wasn't the question that I was talking about, right? It's the 'meta' analysis and in character discussion of "game terms" that I was asking to avoid.
It's funny to have a character do that stuff, yes...but I would prefer if it isn't "canon" in the actual RP. Hence the request for a spoiler or [ooc] tags or just placed here in the Discussion
The question with borderline meta-knowledge was fine as it's easy to imagine that Thurrios had heard some kind of rumor or have knowledge of the PFS. He does exist in the same universe as the organization after all, and he's lived well before the start of our story.
Thurrios the Forgiving
I interpreted it as being the whole thing, and when you had asked here about the rewards, I figured I'd fix my question about that.
I suppose I throw smaller tidbits like that into other games. In one, the characters are starting to think we're dealing with siblings, possibly twins, so my character comments that we should watch out for the one with the goatee. It's a bit meta, perhaps not as in your face as Thurrios' analysis of PFS adventuring groups.
Ok, so I'll keep it to a minimum in the future!

A wink here and there is cool. The goatee comment would have made me laugh. I do that sort of thing, too on occasion.
Something small can be "overlooked" by the characters as it's really meant for the readers, but something larger starts to tread on suspension of disbelief, and that's what I try to avoid when possible.
Thanks for understanding. :-)

Within the Pathfinder Society, you accumulate "Fame" and "Prestige" for missions completed. Fame just keeps growing, but Prestige is a "spendable" commodity.
Fame is used, among other things, to define how expensive of an item you are allowed to purchase. Thus, roughly as you grow in level and fame, you can expend more money on a single magic item.
You can spend 2 Prestige to gain a magic item up to 750gp. You can rightly assume that's how most PFS groups score their wands of CLW.
Prestige can also be spent on a number of other specific things, most of which sound nice, but I don't suspect have ever been done. However, Prestige can purchase quite a few of the healing spells, resurrection, restoration, dispel magic, atonement, etc.
But yet another use of Prestige, and this is a quote "Have your body recovered by a rescue team" which costs 5 Prestige.
Having played quite a few PFS missions with my characters, there are missions where a primary part of your success criteria is "oh, and some Pathfinders didn't make it back, so please return their bodies if you can." But there are also missions where maybe you didn't know their might be Agents there, but you do find them, or their bodies, and so you retrieve them if possible.
My running gag when playing the game, is that if it costs me 5PP to get my body retrieved, and if my party consists of 6 Agents who conduct the retrieval, we should all maybe get at least .5 of a PP for that retrieval (per corpse dammit), or a straight up sum of money. Because it's a zero sum game, right? Where else is that Prestige going, if not to the Agents who retrieved your dumb self!
For a complete listing of what Prestige can be spent on, and the actual Society, download and read the free Season 6 Guide and look on pages 25 and 26.
There are other things that can be purchased with Prestige not listed in that guide which can have an in-game benefit. Like buying a boat and being the Captain, or opening a shop in Absalom and such. Things that you can "spend" the resource on, to help flesh out your character.

Or getting a caravan and using your intimidate skill as a profession or craft skill to get money ;)
Yes. I did that

If you're playing a Pathfinder, you should download that guide anyways, and maybe try and find some other open source info, as it can help you a lot with understanding how the Society is structured, how Lodges function, where Lodges are, what Faction you might belong to, who your Faction leader is, what your Faction goals are, etc.
There are a couple purchaseable PFS books, which are great info for any game, but AWESOME if you're playing in PFS.
As a Society Agent, for example, you should definitely consider owning a Wayfinder!
And if you own a Wayfinder, then you want to know how ioun stones function and their resonant properties with Wayfinders.
And how there are many different types of Wayfinders.
So, little things like that, which could be cool.
Oh, and have you read any/many of the Pathfinder Novels? Some of the characters in them, but definitely not all, are associated with the Society.
And some of the short stories inside the APs have agents in them. The one in Kingmaker does, and I think the one in, hmmmm, actually, it's this AP as well. I've read the stories in almost all of the APs I own. They don't provide spoilers to the AP, but they are great for giving a feel of the area.

Yes. I did that

Right, in our regular group, one of our guys, Lawson, purchased a ship. My character, CMIX, is his first mate, and we're in the Andoran faction. Well, it's changed names now, but we WERE in the Andoran faction anyways.

The trait Sarala and I both have is what makes us Pathfinders, and yes we both have wayfinders due to that trait as well.
I actually own 99% of the Paizo OGL/PFRPG publications. I do own the 2 or 3 sourcebooks they have about the society, but I have never really read much of the organized play stuff.
Sarala
|
I believe both Sarala and Julius have wayfinders already (at least Sarala does as well as an Ioun stone). I have a PFS character, but I've only really dipped my toe into it and never managed to make it to the end of anything with that character.
Though I didn't know there are different kinds of wayfinders? I guess I'll have to read more into that! Thanks for the links/info!
Thurrios the Forgiving
I believe it is Seeker of Secrets that provides the obscure Wayfinder stuff, and maybe the stuff listing what PP can purchase beyond the spells I mentioned.
If you have the novels, read the Count Jeggare' novels. He's a Pathfinder, AND a loyal Chelaxian noble. His bodyguard is actually the more interesting character, but I won't spoil that for you.
Jeggare's is a canon character described in, ummmm, maybe the ISWG?

Here.
To supplement Thurrios' list, I've decided to try this out. It lists any currently unclaimed items, as well as their corresponding gp values; items with a question mark listed are those that need to be appraised. Wealth By Level looks like it might be a bit off due to the departure of three PCs, but I am not terribly worried about it.
Thurrios the Forgiving
FYI, Anapa has gone MIA across the board. He is usually a very reliable poster/player, so I'm hoping all is well and maybe he is just having some technical problems. I know he got a new computer recently, so cross our collective fingers.
Thurrios the Forgiving
Hey GM, I'm interested in getting your read on Piranha Strike when used with the scimitar once I have Dervish Dance? I don't care what we call the feat, I'm interested in some method to get -1 to hit, +2 DMG, progressing, along the lines of Piranha Strike, Power Attack, and Deadly Aim.
Mahorfeus
Hm. I will have to think on it, because that would require me to either houserule that the scimitar counts as a light weapon for the purposes of Piranha Strike (reasonable perhaps since Weapon Finesse is a prerequisite for both feats) or just homebrew an entirely new feat... the latter of which I would honestly rather not do. There's still a while before you hit level 5, so I'll get back to you on that.
Thurrios the Forgiving
Again, I don't care what we call it, but I'm actually paying two feats to get there, Weapon Finesse, Dervish Dance, so then right I'm just thinking 5th level feat to get the -1/+2 similar to Power Attack, etc.
Mahorfeus
Ah, I neglected to mention it, but good news on Anapa's end. He is alive and well, but unfortunately, both of my assumptions turned out to be true. Mother Nature and his incompetent Internet Service Providers have apparently conspired to keep him away from his games. He will hopefully be rejoining us sometime this week.
