Yin, Daughter of Nug |

"And it is very common... on just about every gossamer where the inhabitants discovered fruit is more fun if you wait for it to ferment."
After Skafin flew away all of a sudden, the barroom talk catches Yin's interest. Not feeling like interjecting herself between the drinking man and the 2 gigantic supersmart lizardgods she approaches the merchant-barkeeper
"fermented fruit? that does not sound like it tastes very good-and is that not very much work to keep it from becoming poisonous?
In the world I was born on, there were mushrooms, you could simply take a bite out of them and also enter another state of mind. They don't work for me any more for some reason but I'm pretty sure they still work for others.
Are there no such mushrooms on other gossamer worlds? If not then maybe you should visit there to bring them to other worlds, merchant"

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

"Well, it's a lot of work to make good-tasting poison out of them. And yes, depending on that state of mind, they might sell well off-world."

Garron |

Hearing talk of the benefits/downsides of inebriation Garron walks over to Mineire.
"Speaking of, do ya have any stronger drinks in that cart o' yars. Haven't found a drink could get me drunk in a long time. Somethin' tells me ya have what i'm looking' for."

Lady Aannra One |

Walks with Garron over to the others, it seems like it will be an interesting Conversation.
Then as Yin, Daughter of Nug, she says.
"Where I am from, some lose there whole lives to mushrooms and other narcotics. I would not recommend it for any anyone, it seems such a sad thing to do to oneself."

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

Hearing talk of the benefits/downsides of inebriation Garron walks over to Mineire.
"Speaking of, do ya have any stronger drinks in that cart o' yars. Haven't found a drink could get me drunk in a long time. Somethin' tells me ya have what i'm looking' for."
"I'm sure I can find something. Probably gonna taste rough, due to high content... but ought to do the job."
The merchant stands up and walks over to the wagon, entering and closing the door behind him. Nearly ten minutes later, he returns with a cask four times the size of Yin and a mug.
"Mug's a little small, but I suppose you could dispense it directly into your mouth. Normally I mix this brew in with something more palatable, like wine with added sugar. Drinking it straight might burn a little, this was made by fire giants. Because their physiology burns away much of the alcohol while drinking, they have to fortify it so that there is alcohol left after the burning."

Garron |

"AH, many thanks merchant."
Garron fills the mug to the brim and immediately drains it.
"BELCH!"
Garron hands the merchant a few coins and breaks out into a huge smile.
"Now thats a drink!"

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

The merchant pockets the coins inside a sleeve, nodding in agreement.

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

"I may have one more where that one was, or I will find my next-strongest solution. Normally I'd have more, but my stores are somewhat depleted, as I actually stopped here to rest after delivering a shipment of night diamonds."
The merchant walks back to his wagon once more, the door closing behind him. Some minutes pass, but he does not return.
figure it'll take him longer this time to find it

Lady Aannra One |

"Well I will stick to this nice blue wine then for the time being."
Skafin comes into being close to her, She case is glowing.
She looks at it and says
"I see, well that serves you right then don't it, don't go upsetting half devils, you better say here and get into no more trouble,"

Yin, Daughter of Nug |

While the merchant is in the back of the wagon, Yin flies behind the counter and sniffs on some alcohol there, then shudders violently
"Eww...I don't think I can drink this kind of thing. It already smells toxic."
Yin returns to the other side of the bar, then smiles at the happy dragon couple some more, then whispers to Aannra:

Umbra Lord Loexvivor |

Loex tilts his head at the merchant but his eyes remain level, "Merchant, do tell what these Night Diamonds are? Imagine being made out of a diamond since diamonds are harder than crystal?"

Lady Aannra One |

She nods her head
::"really Yin, you can see all that, that is some talent, but give that probability states that given an inf.. O that's tricky, look at that, you have a metal defiance patten around you mind. I very nearly trigged it, very interesting I have never seen its type before, some kind of kind detrementor. Do you mind if a take a copy it for may records, it want hurt and I will not Damage it or remove it."::

Yin, Daughter of Nug |

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

Loex tilts his head at the merchant but his eyes remain level, "Merchant, do tell what these Night Diamonds are? Imagine being made out of a diamond since diamonds are harder than crystal?"
The merchant returns from his wagon, a corked glass tube in hand containing a deep green fluid, and pours the replicant a drink into a cup.
"I'm out of the fire giant brew, this is something of a minotaur variant. No reason for the high content other than that they like it."
Regarding night diamonds, they're not so exotic to Lords and Ladies of true power. They're diamonds that react with the eye of the beholder, making everything grows dark. It dissuades the common folk from resting their gaze upon the blue-blooded."

Yin, Daughter of Nug |

"Regarding night diamonds, they're not so exotic to Lords and Ladies of true power. They're diamonds that react with the eye of the beholder, making everything grows dark. It dissuades the common folk from resting their gaze upon the blue-blooded."
"I can make things grow dark, too! Plenty of dark. Wanna play hide and seek in the dark?"
Without waiting for an answer, Yin flies towards the cask of Fire Giant Brew, and hides in its Shadow while giggling

Genjô Fa Xian |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Sanzo looks up from what he was doing with a serious look on his face, "I can feel it.... Coming in the air this night, Oh Lords... We've been waiting for this moment for all our lives... Can you feel it coming, Ye Lords!?"

Umbra Lord Loexvivor |

Loex nods in agreement regarding the night diamonds, "What is your name Merchant Lord? I am Loexvivor. And I do agree that night diamonds are not exotic to us and by the looks of it, most of us can see in the dark and us dragons do not need spell components. However, I do wonder how much more resilient my hide would be being made out of diamond instead of crystal. Quartz crystal has a mineral hardiness of 7 out of 10 and diamond is 10 out of 10. Hmm?"

Lady Aannra One |

Takes the minotaur brew and downs it all in one go, she stands still for a moment, as if thinking, then here eyes go wide, she then in one move regurgitates the whole think back up into the same mug she drank it from. She then hands it to Skafin, who with unseen hands of force hold it.
"Skafin go fine a rocky place and burn that drink out of exsistance, I have never tasted any thing so horrid and disgustingly fowl. Go, go now and save us all. "
The drone zooms off,
::"No you miss understand, not your mind, that would be rude and to be honest it's best we not look into each other's amassesed conglomerate centers of presence . We stand at opposite sides of reality, where I would see massed chaotic maddaning randomness in you, you would see ordered unutterable bewildering complexity in mine. No what I ment was could I make some notes on the form your personal mind defence takes. It's very interesting. Also could you show me an image of the crystal tree you talked of. Again I'm interested to understand it."::
She then takes up her blue wine class and takes a long drink of that.
Happy now she looks over at Lord GenjFaXian
"I was thinking this was just another day in paradise, that was unstill I tried that drink fellow Lord, sorry that sounds so , could I ask your Name, I'm lady Aannra One nice to meet you."

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

"My name is Mineire, Loexvivor. Based on the difference in the scale of things, it sounds as if diamond would be nearly forty-three percent harder. Are you capable of changing your mineral composition?"
The merchant turns Aannra and says, "If you didn't like that, you definitely would not like what he is drinking," pointing to the giant's cask, "That was about three-fourths as rough as what he has."

Garron |

"HA!"
Garron pats miniere on the back and looks at Aannra with mild annoyance.
"Some people just can't appreciate a good drink."

Lady Aannra One |

Looks at the bar keep,
"Really, well he has the size for it, but I do pitty his poor liver"
Then looks at Lord Garron
"Lord Garrin, on some worlds drinks like that would be listed under dangerous substances, very much in the way most toxic and dangerous things are. Such drinks would be band by law, for good, sound public health reasons."

Yin, Daughter of Nug |

::"Then no deal. The last time I let someone in my mind they stayed there. Or I forced them to stay. Either way, will not have happened. I can show you the tree maybe. Shall we go? I glimpsed ahead and the tree will be in the last place we look for so we can just go there first and speed things up."::
*Yin, together with the Cask of Fire Giant Brew, slowly begin to fly away, inching her way towards Aannra, while she is giggling enthusiastically...*
Yin holds still for a moment, then whispers: "Shhhh...i'm playing hide and seek with the merchant...you will blow my cover...."

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

"You are most puissant at hiding, little blue one. I cannot see you as it stands. Even if I were to use some of my powers of perception I might not be able to see you, and in my business it pays to be perceptive."
"I'm not that good at hiding, but I prefer to hide in plain sight."
The merchant begins to shrink down, smaller and smaller, until he is smaller than a housecat. His skin turns blue and clothes shift to suit his new form, a small fey-like creature with little wings, as he flits over and stands on the edge of the table.
this is a psionic transformative effect, not an illusion

Lady Aannra One |

Dou!! me but good happenstance, yep lets do that it will be fun to do what I am going to do next. Time to show you how she moves around the Gossamer.
::"I fully understand your feeling, I would not like someone looking around my Mind now, now after what I have learned here today. I am getting a feeling I need to expand the way I think. It seems to hold more colour if one sees the world with a layer of feeling. I have felt before, I found a child once, took her to a new life. It seemed like the patten wanted me to. Do you believe in Fate it is an idea that is new to me but I can see how it would fit into the great order of things. So let us away, I'll get my craft.::
As Yin
*Yin, together with the Cask of Fire Giant Brew, slowly begin to fly away, inching her way towards Aannra, while she is giggling enthusiastically...*
Skafin comes back.
Aannra steps away from a little as she dos her clothing changes to a high tech space suit. While this Happens Skafin transforms getting bigger and adding force shielding. IMAGE HERE
She looks back as Yin plays with Garron

His skin turns blue and clothes shift to suit his new form, a small fey-like creature with little wings, as he flits over and stands on the edge of the table.
Mineire can hear another giggle from behind him, in the wagon, as Yin turns visible again. Then she uses her telekinesis to safely place the cask in front of Garron again, while she flies towards the little copy of herself, then starts eyeing her closely
"That is sooooo awesome. You're much prettier now! It's been long since I met another one like me. Do you want to eat some blueberries with me and go for a flight? I thought I was the only one of my kind in this place"
Then Yin looks on as Aannra does her transformation and remembers her talk, turning back to Mineire
"I am totally sorry, I need to go for a minute. Will you be here later? You have to tell me from which world you hail!"
Yin then quickly flutters over to Aannra, and casts Plane Shift
Destination: 1d100 ⇒ 89
Seems we end up on the 89-95 Astral Plane

Garron |

"I'm drinking that."
Garron slowly reaches out his hand and grabs the barrel, placing it back in from of him. He pours more of the powerful brew into his mug and takes a gulp.

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

"Well, I am not perfectly like you, just enough to blend in in societies that might not want to sell to or buy from outsiders."
He transforms back into his original form, saying "As for playing, that is rather vigorous for me. I prefer a good book or a project to tinker on."

Lady Aannra One |

Aannra displaces into her ship an instant before the planshift happens, becoming one with it. Ski fins shields go up fully. As they start to port across reality"s she notes the randomness of there targeting. Then with unimaginable metal sped, auto carrects it.
::"Send me an image of where you wish to go, I will shift us to that location, I have a greater control over our moment."::
Plan shift as well, with no mistake as she taps into the great Pattan. New location crystal tree as discribed

Hehe, you misunderstand...Yin can go where she wants...its not about control...its about her not KNOWING where the crystal tree from Maerar is, since, as said earlier, she did not probe his mind without first asking the player if he's ok with that. And since it's HIS backstory and plot point, and, if i remember correctly, they shattered it, we won't get there. So just gonna play it out as Yin losing focus on their task again, feel free to call it pointless and get us back to the bar :)
"Uhh.....where i want to go?"
Yin manifests an image of a strongly aligned Blueberry Plane in Aannra's Mind

Lady Aannra One |

thats ok, she had Skafin record the conversation so let's see, between the two ideas of location.[also we have to fracture in how the grand stair my work/ooc]
The move to the door of this world, pass threw
Then the vastness of the stair, not going to far down it they come to another door, then throw that, into a large populated plane.
The end up in large art gallery, where a group of humans are lissaining to another human talk about his new art work the crystal blueberry tree. Hand made by himself over a number of years. Aannra stays with in Skafin hoping the locals will take her as just one more art work.
::"Well, this dos not seem right"::
She says, as two of the locales ask the galery owner how much she costs.
He meanwhile look at her scratching his head, trying to work out how a silver art work came to be bobbing in the air in his gallery.
[ooc]over to you invisibility girl hehe

Oneidros |

A few minutes ago, when Mineire poured Oneidros a goblet of lunar nectar.
It's possible to view Oneidros largely as his branch-and-boulder outer "body" and forget about the hare-like fairy housed within. If anyone watching had subscribed to that misconception it was shattered when his hand-of-branches brought the goblet not to his wood-and-rock head but rather inside his belly to the mouth of the fairy floating there.
As the silvery syrupy wet his lips, the hare's eyes closed. He grinned and began to spin lazily as if floating weightless in the ethereal plane. For several long minutes he seemed completely absorbed in bliss, spinning in slow loops in the belly of his outer body.
Now
Reluctantly, the hare's eyes reopen and he turns to face the four-armed merchant. "That was lovely. I was transported back to a lovelier time, before the reds, purples, and golds of the Blooming Grove were sucked dry by Belem and the Dwimmerlaik. Gold is not enough to thank for for that. Here."
Out of his haversack float a piece of parchment, several brushes, and small jars of gouache. The fey hare furrows his brow for a moment, causing several brushes to go to work at once. "Voilà!" He says when it's done. "You rekindled my memory of the Blooming Grove, before it was tainted...and as I pray to make it again one day. As payment I'd like you to have this."
The painting shows a land lush even by the standards of those who've traveled in fey realms before: A crisp blue spring with leaping trout, hills overflowing with flowers that seem to glow with an inner light, and a circle of fey napping dreamily with their heads on each others' laps.
Craft (painting): 1d20 + 39 ⇒ (10) + 39 = 49

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

"Very nice, and thank you. I know just where to put it. I've been working on furnishing the inside of the wagon, and you wouldn't believe how expensive nice furniture can be. And no dining hall can be complete without art on the walls."

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

Mineire turns to the two-headed dragon, "Yes, all manner of art will be good to have in the wagon. Most of the art I have ever made has been the kind you read, or the kind you wear. Not the best kind to have on static display."
Turning to Barrett, Mineire replies, "It is... bigger on the inside than on the outside. The amount of space changes from time to time, but it is something of a project of mine. A reason to collect wealth, I suppose, besides just for the sake of being rich. It started out with the need for more space to store goods, then I wanted to organize the goods in a sensible way. Now it has outgrown my current capacity to manage on my own, but that is another project entirely."

Oneidros |

Both his outer head-of-wood and the fey hare's head within cock curiously at the mention of the dining hall. "An extra-dimensional space, then? How marvelous! While we wait, would you give us a tour?"

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

"When its current reorganization is complete, I'll give you a tour. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to make the place permanent. It must be refreshed every fortnight, and during the process it can be rather chaotic inside."
waiting back on word from GM on that front (as far as what all is inside), I figure it'll be resolved shortly after play begins, if I am in the final party

Oneidros |

Genjô, sorry your kid got sick! I hope s/he's getting better now. At any rate, I think a RP-during-recruitment thread like this is necessarily haphazard: super fast paced and also always disjointed due to the sheer number of characters involved. I trust that we'll have a good crop of strong roleplayers in the final party...and that they'll have the opportunity to co-create a rich narrative together!

Yin, Daughter of Nug |

Yin gazes at the Crystal Blueberry Tree
"Beautiful. Can you....can you take it with you? No, you can't...only sentient stuff can shift...hm"
Yin disappears, then reappears a few moments later, hiding on top of the Crystal Tree, and starts an lenghty incantation reading from something
Stealth: 1d20 + 55 ⇒ (4) + 55 = 59
Use Magic Device to use scroll: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (19) + 28 = 47
Use Magic Device to emulate ability score: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (4) + 28 = 32
Will Save as part of casting: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (19) + 26 = 45
If complete, Tree would have
Intelligence: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3) = 7
Wisdom: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5) = 10
Charisma: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 3) = 9

Lady Aannra One |

::"Its fart to big to fit in here with me, I do have an Space pocket but its to sharp to fit in that."::
Takes 20 on Spellcraft
She locks onto the artist mind.
::"Now please do as I say for a short while, do not act alarmed, my and my companion wish to take your art work. I will pay you in kind if a my, I am now placing in your mind a store of knowledge from art traditions from a number of worlds. In it you will find ideas that will make you famous and also wealthy. Now no one will ever believe you of you say how you got this information so its best we keep this between ourselves. There all done, now we need to take your Crystal tree. Place say to your guests its all part of an 'art-happening' and you designed it all. Have a good life."
Lets see power used Mind control DC30 and give him a a save of 12 say 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 then her Diplomacy1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26 take 20 on art history, and all should be well. She then hacks the securoty system and wipes the tapes. Take 20 on Technology.
Skafin and she displaces next to Vin
@Vin
::"All ready that should fix things here, when ever your ready lets take you new awakened Crystal tree back."::

Garron |

"A demi-plane in the cart? Fascinating. What exactly do you sell?"
Garron downs the rest of his mug and pours another, seemingly still unbuzzed.

Yin, Daughter of Nug |

After having finished her incantations after 24 hours...casting time, with some humans looking for the origin of the whispers during their visit, the tree awakens...
"Shh....mister tasty, you have to hold still...hide..."
The crystal blueberry tree named "Tasty" awkwardly attempts to hide...in the middle of the room, while the humans around can only stare with open mouths
"This will not do. They can't see where we go otherwise they will follow and try to take you from me!"
Yin uses multiple castings of Deeper Darkness to make the exhibition room supernaturally dark, then uses her shadow shift to go to her home plane, bringing the Tree (and Aannra) along (if she so desires).
She introduces Tasty to Athos, tells him to show Tasty around, then gets ready to depart again.
(After a short talk with Aannra(or non)), she shifts back towards the Grand Stair Cafe(again, with Aannra if she came along)
There, she approaches the merchant Mineire.
"Uhm, why do you have this form again? What happened? Do you need help?"
Tasty, the Awakened Crystal Blueberry Tree, added to NPC Contacts

Mineire the Gossamer Merchant |

"I'll sell mostly anything that will turn a profit. There are certain things I don't sell, namely slaves. While not morally opposed to the trade itself, it isn't practical nor do they have a high value by pound. Primarily, I buy things that seem of low value in one gossamer, and travel to another where they fetch a high price."
