He looks at the pixie a little askew, but still picks up the tap for the first drink
"Ok, so tell me. What's the gig? Who are these hombres and what are you doing running such a scam with them. You said you were going to try and break into something big...that's why you left. So...what happened?"
Jose takes a deep quaff of his beer as he waits for the pixie to catch him up!

Year 2075, October 1st- New York
It is late, the sun has set and all the lowlife of New York have come out to play...
You're all out in a local speakeasy, fronting as a common bar. "The Hole" is it's apt name, for the bar itself was underground, and beneath a very poorly kept apartment complex as well. the bartender, an orc covered in cybertec, cleaned some glasses. the bar was relatively empty, only a few patrons sat around. in the back there was a few games of poker going on, but the real fun was upstairs, where they served various Drugs and black-lights.
For those who are familiar with the place they would know the orc bartender kept a Shotgun hidden under the bar. He would occasionally pull it out to threaten someone.
What is most peculiar though is the patron sitting in the corner of the room, a... your not sure actually. He is alive, thermovision lets you know that. but his entire body is covered in cloth. his hands are gloved, he has thick black glasses on, and he even is wearing a mask... he seems to be looking in your direction but it's hard to tell.

Tinkerblade |

She's a cheap date as the bartender serves her beer in a shot glass and puts another one upside down for her to sit on. "Oh, it's not a scam. It's simple survival. Being on your own is the razor's edge. You're always watching your back. No matter how big you are, there's always somebody than can take you down. Especially when they know who they're hunting. They'll bring the shiny bullets." The last bit was a quiet whisper right in Jose's ear - hard to overhear.
[b]"But there's safety in numbers. That's why I run with the Red Reapers now. Lots of eyes to check things out, lots of guns and blades to discourage people. Enough people with something special when we need to bring the big guns. That's me, Legion, and some others. Oh, somebody could still bring us all down, but it's not gonna be easy."
As Legion steps in, she'll whistle him over.

*Legion* |

Legion signals his Fly-Spy to join him inside, and parks the Roto-drone on a roof nearby. He fires off a quick order to the larger of the two: Notify me if anyone approaches, send pictures.
When he gets inside, he quickly finds Tink and the newcomer and makes his way to their table. He notices the "mummy", but doesn't visibly react. He does, however, relay an order to the Fly-Spy: Scan for hidden nodes in the room. Let me know if you find anything.
The Fly-Spy proceeds to load a Scan program and get to work.
Detect Hidden Node (SCAN)
A general search is Electronic Warfare + Scan (15+, 1 Combat Turn). The Fly-Spy has an Electronic Warfare 4 autosoft and Scan 4 (6, but limited by Pilot 4, right?). Either way, it can buy 2 successes per turn for 10 turns, granting 20 successes.
"Hoi, Chummer. Hey, Tink. How's things?"

![]() |

woops, I meant 2071, not 75
there are 10 nodes in the bar, several of them are simple and ad based, but one is quite sophisticated, and it even makes a counter scan to locate your drone... however it doesn't seem too interested. the "mummy" stands and walks over. He sits next to Legion says, You looking for something? he asks, his voice scrambled. he sounds alot like some sort of troll, but that's easily achieved with simple hardware. the bartender freezes and reaches below the counter... for that hidden gun.
Your drone seems to love poking around. or perhaps you commanded it? the man chuckles. no worries, im not gonna get angry... but i did notice your a runner... he leans in, perhaps your up for some work?

Tinkerblade |

Tink will look him over, socially and astrally. Bandages will help, but unless he's done something odd, they don't hide his aura.
Judge Intentions: 14d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 4, 6, 1, 4, 6, 4, 3, 6, 5, 4, 4) = 54 4 hits
Assensing: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 3, 3, 6) = 27 4 hits
She'll then fly over, "Oh, if you want to hire runners here, you need to go through their agent. Me. So what kind of job is it?"
Etiquette: 13d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 3, 3, 1, 5, 1, 3, 6, 6, 3, 3) = 45 4 hits

![]() |

It is exceedingly difficult to tell the man's ententions, after all his facial features where hidden by the mask and his mannerisms where quite calm. "well, I have some work that needs done. I can supply you with necessary things... like a house, ammo, and even a vehicle. If your willing to take it. And all I ask in return is some small jobs. If you want to know, the first one is easy. I need someone to find a very specific Vampire... and bring her to me alive.
He chuckles. Oh, perhaps you'd like to know the name of your Mr.Johnson? I preffer the name "Dragon"

Tinkerblade |

A quick soft whisper right outside of Jose's ear will say, "Ex-runner. Small group in Hell's Kitchen. Holds back Lone Star." She'll also add a bit about what I see of his aura and then repat it for Legion as well. With Voice Control, it should be hard to overhear.
"Nothing's easy when it comes to vampires." she rebuts, but with a smile. She then gets into the details. "What can she do and what do you know of the security around her? Is this an escort mission where she wants to come or will she resist? Do you know of any interested third parties? 'Bring her to me alive' can include anything from 'unharmed but restrained' to 'a head and most of a torso packed in a support cube'. What is the minimal acceptible condition? Should insurmountable problems come up, what is your preferred mission failure mode - the target going free or the target dead?"

*Legion* |

Underworld: 8d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 3, 4, 5, 5, 1) = 34 (Glitch: N | Successes: 4)
Shadow Community: 7d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 2, 1, 6, 6) = 22 (Glitch: N | Successes: 2)
Area Knowledge (New York): 8d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 1, 5, 1, 1, 2) = 25 (Glitch: N | Successes: 4)
"How's about you give us whatever info you've got, and we can supplement with our own research."

![]() |

the dragon chuckles at your questions. Well ,her name is Vel, she is currently squatting in the sewers in upper Manhattan. she actually works for me. you gob will be to find her and get her back to... well lets say this bar shall we? of course she is kinda a... hmm, well a b!$$&. she has an active bounty on her head, so you might have to deal with a bounty hunter or some fool who thinks he cat take her... he pulls out a bundle of cash, about 500 Nguyen. here is an advance payment, ill give another thousand when the job is done. and if you run into any troubles, ill give you 500 for each person who bothers you. he looks to hte side for a momment. ... yes im sure... i have the money... you know the supplies are-... yes, just do it... thanks... he then looks back to you. Sorry about that, some business came through...do we have a deal?

![]() |

oh sorry.. one second, again first shadowrun game, astral stuff is one of the things i looked at the least :/the man's astral form is misty, and it is clear this man is magical, although how is unknown. the form is very colorful, a rainbow of color, and it seems the dragon has be initiated... or at least he is powerful.
here, i have a coin for you... don't worry its not dangerous. he pulls out an old gold colored coin. closer inspection reveals its an old american dollar, with the statue of liberty on one side and 'in god we trust' printed in tiny letters... of course the thing was worthless in this time and age. She'll understand. as for reasons she wont come... ah just don't piss her off.

José "Yaotl" Ichtaca |

Jose waits until they are alone once again before speaking.
"So, it looks like old times again Tink. Not something I was looking for, but I suppose I do owe you."
He turns and looks at the orc who had joined them.
"My name is Jose, but you can call me Yaotl. I am from far to the south and fled my handlers at Aztechnology. The still hunt for me. I just want you to know this before we work together."

*Legion* |

"Okay, Dragon. One more question; why are you so interested in being our angel? It's not every day someone tells ya you're gonna get a drek-ton of free stuff and get paid besides, so I can't help but be a bit suspicious; I'm sittin' here, tryin' to figure out who I pissed off that they'd go to so much trouble to set me up." Legion pauses in thought, then sighs and shakes his head. "Frag it, this is too good to pass on, and I'm finding I don't care whether you're brain-fragged, insane, whatever. Know this, though: cross us, and know we'll get even."

*Legion* |

Later, to Yaotl, Legion nods, "I'm in a bit of a situation myself, or will be if I don't make some serious nuyen, and soon. None of what I do comes cheap, and I took out a loan with some less-than-savory types to get what I've got. Soon enough, they're gonna come lookin' to collect."

![]() |

The dragon makes sure to send a pic over the AR, before leaving without another word.
The vampire is a black haired woman, she looks like someone who spent alot of time taking drugs, although almost all vampires looked like that.
The trip to the sewer entrance isn't that bad, although as you aproacj there is a sign saying "Danger, No Trespassing Ghouls ahead."

*Legion* |

Legion takes a moment and uses his select sound filter to tune out any ambient noise from outside of the sewer, then listens and looks intently.
Audio Perception (INT, Audio Enhancement): 1d6 + 5d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (3) + (6, 1, 3, 3, 6) + (1, 3, 5) = 31 (Glitch: N | Successes: 3)
Visual Perception (INT, Vision Enhancement): 1d6 + 5d6 + 3d6 ⇒ (1) + (6, 6, 5, 4, 5) + (5, 3, 4) = 39 (Glitch: N | Successes: 5)

Tinkerblade |

Before they enter, Tink will prepare herself. After syncing comms, she will use her sustaining foci to make herself invisible and quicker.
Improved Invisibility: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 6, 1, 6, 4, 3, 3, 2) = 36 3 hits (limited to 2 by foci) Drain 2S: 14d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 4, 2, 5, 5, 4, 1, 4, 1, 2, 4, 1) = 46 4 hits
Increase Reflexes: 10d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 4, 3, 5, 1, 6, 6, 3) = 38 4 hits (limited to 2 by foci) Drain 3S: 14d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 4, 3, 6, 6, 5, 3, 6, 5, 4, 5, 2) = 58 6 hits
People lose 8 dice to perceive me. Only 6 vs. assensing.
Knowing that Yao is a tracker, she will flitter above the muck keeping ready for problems.

*Legion* |

Legion has a tacnet running on his commlink. Anyone that has 4 channels of input can link up to it and get various combat bonuses. This could be audio or visual, and each enhancement counts as an additional channel, essentially.
Legion unloads his roto-drone from the van, confirms its ammo bins are full, and declares himself ready to proceed.
Speaking of which, what kind of ammo is being provided? Are there also grenades for the roto-drone's colt?

*Legion* |

The rules aren't particularly set in stone, but as a general guideline, anyone that is subscribed will get 2 dice (since Legion and his two drones are also subscribed) to add to anything that might conceivably benefit from having additional tactical information. Some examples from Unwired (p. 126) are close combat, dodge, firearms, infiltration, maneuvering, perception, shadowing, and surprise tests.

Tinkerblade |

It should also help you keep track of me since you can't see me. That reminds me, I forgot to do my Infiltration and Perception rolls.
Infiltration (urban): 8d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 3, 2, 4, 6, 4) = 32 3 hits; -6 dice to perceive with concealment
Perception (visual/audio): 10d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 5, 5, 6, 4, 3, 1, 3) = 40 4 hits

*Legion* |

Legion takes a moment to activate the ruthenium polymer coating on his riot control armor, and sends a command to both drones: Keep it quiet and stay out of sight until you hear otherwise.
Infiltration (AGI, TacNet): 1d6 + 7d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + (6, 3, 1, 6, 4, 1, 3) + (1, 4) = 30 (Glitch: N | Successes: 2) (-4 dice on Perception tests from ruthenium polymer coating)
Infiltration (Roto-drone Pilot 4, Covert Ops Autosoft 4, TacNet): 4d6 + 4d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 5) + (6, 2, 4, 4) + (5, 5) = 42 (Glitch: N | Successes: 5)
Infiltration (Fly-Spy Pilot 4, Covert Ops Autosoft 4, TacNet): 4d6 + 4d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 4) + (4, 5, 1, 5) + (5, 1) = 36 (Glitch: N | Successes: 4)

You are not being suplied yet, however it will be roughly 100 bullets of normal ammo. However for some jobs you will also be supplied a weapon or two, or some special equipment. As of now, you get 50 free normal ammo.
As you enter the sewers you notice your steps echo... despite how quiet they are. If a Ghoul is down here they are sure to hear it.
The sewer smells, but luckily it's only the rancid rainwater. They haven't used these tunnels since they build that sewage treatment a few miles north of here.
Other than that, there is a trace of someone. And it seems whoever it was isn't a ghoul.

*Legion* |

Legion, using his subvocal mic, alerts the others, "There's a faint signal to the north; not sure what it might be yet. We should probably figure out what it is before we explore anything else. Everyone agree?"

*Legion* |

Legion begins looking for any wireless signals being transmitted through the extender.
Capture Wireless Signal (Electronic Warfare + Sniffer (3)): 4d6 + 6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 3) + (4, 4, 3, 2, 4, 5) = 31 (Glitch: N | Successes: 1)
Capture Wireless Signal (Electronic Warfare + Sniffer (3)): 4d6 + 6d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 5) + (3, 2, 1, 2, 4, 4) = 29 (Glitch: N | Successes: 1)
Capture Wireless Signal (Electronic Warfare + Sniffer (3)): 4d6 + 6d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 3) + (1, 6, 1, 1, 2, 2) = 28 (Glitch: N | Successes: 3)
