I don't want any squads of 3 so until we get the replacement we'll go with two.

Anyone who has a better suggestion on how to take repentant bandits without watching over them 24/7 feel free to share your ideas here or in character. Letting them walk around with no consequence is no good. These are mostly murderers who don't want an honest living so we'll get people who are lying about their repentance. Of course we could just execute them all, but that will make it unlikely for people to surrender in the future if we get a reputation for being merciless.

I'll get the two squads posted later today.

I'm thinking of going ahead and splitting up and letting one squad go after Kressel and the other do some exploring (I'm guessing on a tatzlwyrm hunt from the table talk). Any thoughts in that regard?

I have learned from my previous start of Kingmaker, that it's not wise to have many prisoners about. Unless Oleg gets a squad of soldiers to look out for him, we have no way to lock them up or watch them. Keeping them around us is a way to earn their trust and get to know them, but some cases just deserve death and a swift justice.

In the case of Ben, he seems willing to change.

Two groups seems fine, so we have one group of 6, one group of 5 right?
I'd be fine with eiher group.

The Zen Archer is close to completing his character. He will be a human raised by centaurs and although he will not ride a horse he did take Fleet twice at 1st level so he has a move of 40'. Unlike most monks he has a fairly good survival skill.


With the bounty everyone gets an additional 70gp.

Let's get started. Those that expressed interest in the hunt I sent in Squad B. We all know each other now except for Koilia and he's with me for now. If anyone wants to RP with their new squad mates, they're more than welcome, but I'm not going to assign everyone in person IC.


Viktor - I"m fine with splitting into two squads. I'm muddling my way through Google Docs so currently we are going to need to use the handdrawn map. I'm hoping by Wednesday to figure out how to put trees and hills and comments on it. So refer to the map with the following description. If you follow Ben's instructions your route will take you through hex 214, then 313, then the northwest part of 414 skirting the woods in hex 415, then entering 514 upon which you should encouter the Thorn River and travel a short way into the forest of 415. The camp is in the souteast corner of 415.
The Tatzlewyrm is also rumored to be in the forest. If you travel southwest from Olegs you'll run into the forest in hexes 216,315 and 314.

With your horses it will take you 4 hours to cross a plains hex, 6 hours to cross a nonplains hex. It will take a full day of exploration to fully explore a hex. 2 days if it is a mountain or swamp.

Particularly if your exploring I'd like you to trace out a route of several days. For instance, we explore hex 214 then 215 then 216 then go south to 316, then 315 then 314 and then back to Oleg's to restock. This way if nothing of note happens while exploring a hex I can go on to the next day.


Casimir - There are four of what are essentially heavily damaged light ballista's. If you want to pay 100gp for the relevant components it will take 7 man-days to fix (Cr/Siege Weapons 10 or K/Engineering 15 with every exceeding of DC by 2 being an additional manday that person puts in.) 4 people max can work on one engine. Their is plenty of lumber available so you can make your own parts and not pay the 100gp but this increases the time to 20 mandays. The gate is completely gone, building a new one takes 10 mandays (Cr/Carpentry 10) and 150gp or 30 mandays of building from scratch.

So team two, are we hunting or fortress building? Also can we take the leadership feat in this campaign as its sorta made for it? We could blow through man hours if we had more men.


My working assumption right now is that you are hunting and exploring, but Casimir was wanting to assess how long it would take to fix up the Post.
I a couple of hours I am going to make a post based on the following assumptions. Viktor's group follows Ben's instructions. Felix's group explores the area around Olegs, trying to end up in the southwest corner by the forest so that they can start exploring the forest tomorrow.

And yes, although I know leadership is broken, it is made for this campaign and I heartily apporve it being choosen.

Kertuffle - If it would be helpful, I can probably upload maps for the entire module. I have the map folio from my own game and had separated out the images. It wouldn't be too much work from what I have to create some sort of overlay to hide the stuff we haven't explored. Let me know if you'd like me to do so.


I'm not working on Wed. and this is a skill I'd like to acquire. That said I don't want to slow the game down due to my learning curve. I have the equipment, but for some reason my google docs doesn't do the same thing as Majda's google docs but that may just be a function of upgrading software. If you're offering I may take you up on the offer, but I'd like to try it myself first. In any case Thanks and I'll let you know on Wed if I need help.

Yes, we'll be following Ben's directions. We won't be exploring at first, just travelling directly to the bandit camp. Hopefully we'll make it most of the way through 3.13 on the first day.

So, Anastacia's total share is 211 gp and a horse with related tack?

If so, can She get some armor from Oleg.? Chainshirt perhaps? I'm going to look at my options now. The objective would be to lower the ACPs to a more manageable level. While keeping the AC as high as possible of course.

I remember why I didn't buy a chainshirt before. It still weighs too much. I did put a stat block for the horse in my alias. Also added tent, saddle bags, and cold weather clothes. As well as a spare water skin for the horse to carry.

Viktor there is no way I'm going to remove you from the game. After giving it a think, I've decided that Viktor will leave Lanya in charge of the subgroup while he and Derek go back to Oleg's with the bandit's horses and wagon. Viktor, whenever you wish to return, your character will be waiting for you.
