Reporting in as ordered. Thank you all for the votes!
As far as catching up on the story thus far, would you like us to read through the old posts to catch up, or play it out in character?

Welcome to the new recruits.
You have all heard on the grapevine that a merchant princess called Almah is out in the desert having been hired by the Pactmasters of Katapesh, mysterious masked rulers of this mercantile desert kingdom, who apparently desire to bring the abandoned battle market village of Kelmarane back into the economic fold. To this end, they recently assigned Almah the task of scouting out the village, clearing it of malign influence, and getting it working again. Her agent Garavel has been hiring adventurers to aid in this process. You've headed out to see what opportunities there might be.
You'd been told she was camped at a place called the Sultan's Claw, but when you got there all you found was the remains of a campsite, they'd moved on. It wasn't too difficult to track them to a derelict monastery where they have now settled.
Here's a map of the area.
When you arrive, you are hired on and told that the group you are to work with have gone out towards Kelmarane and veered off across the river to the place designated 'Old Shrine'... so you may turn up there and introduce yourselves!
Again, welcome to the happy throng!
Hugs from Megan, your new DM.

Hello! And thanks for the invite! :)
Working on an intro post now! :)
Silena Dulare
Ok. Silena is done... save details on her history, personality, and appearance. I'll get to that. Just so you all know.. she is a Pathfinder Society Organized Play character who I have who IS only 2nd level.. but she does have a few Pathfinder adventurers under her belt. Not as many as my flagship character Asherick.. but a few giving her her gold total. She may be a little ahead of the average party wealth a little over 2,000gp in gear. I just transferred over Exactly as she was, hope you don't mind Megan.
Now I'll begin sculpting my first post...
Silena Dulare
Bravo Silena! I have always loved drow lore and you hit it out of the park with your background. It left me wanting to know more about this beautiful and dangerous half drow!!!
LOL! Your welcome. Sorry for the slow posting today... I've had two sit-down games to attend... one Pathfinder Module - 'The Midnight Mirror' and a Marvel Heroic Role-Play game!
I'll reply to some of the RP!

Grrr.. I wish I could edit old posts! My first post is FULL of grammatical errors and sentence structure errors!
Grrr.. makes me feel like an idiot... but I wanted to post before the story progressed too far.
{sigh} The burdens of a perfectionist!

Good start eveyone.
Nobody has overstepped the mark, but do bear in mind that this is a 'family' board, yes?
LOLS! Yeah.. hear you Megan! :)
I pondered long and hard what to post in her history and what definitely NOT too. I wanted to convey her terrible background and yet not offend or disgust.
I don't care what the writers at Paizo say... Golarion is NOT PG-13!!!
Zon-Kuthon is NOT a 'Family-Friendly' diety... and the Drow "society"...such as it is {if you would call it a society}.. is more likely rated XXX!
So I will not be making such provocative posts with any regularity to maintain that 'family' environment.
Silena is Lawful Neutral and though she believies in power through pain.. she is not a slavering sadistic pervert... though she does have some..{ahem} questionable pass-times and lets just say "open-minded" intimate interests.
She is NOT a direct opposite of Asherick.. that would be unplayable as the party would eventually want to understandably kill such a freak! But Silena is a dark hero. She will work with others and is VERY solid in her morals that she does not force anyone to submit to her torments... much as Zon-Kuthon did not conquer Nidal.. they submitted to his request and accepted his offer of protection. A protection that has never faltered!
If I have a future post that I think might be questionable.. I'll pm it to you before I post it. It should not happen... but I'll indeed be mindful! :)
Oh and by the way everyone Silena's profile is mostly complete with her history, and appearance.. I'll get to her personality eventually. So feel free to read up on her! :)

Hey I'm curious... have the Pathfinder-Companion, Legacy of Fire: Player's Guide. Are we using achievement feats?
Calain
I honestly don't know.
As for the back and forth between Calain and Silena.
I can see we're gonna have some good role play there.
Calain has had a very violent upbringing, specifically to condition a man to become a killer in the arena.
Forms of torture and hardship that could perhaps influence his eventual choice of Deity.
I read enduring suffering to make one stronger to be a tenent of Zon Kuthon, but Calain is not so grim as to enjoy it.
Merely sees hardship as a fact of life one must face in order to survive.
If Silena doesn't actually convert him, Calain might actually take a level or two in cleric or inquisitor (though his scores are not suited to it...maybe just be a pious barbarian)
I often base my PBP chars of cool literature/TV/Movie chars. (Not very origonal I know)
Calain is based on Crixus from the Spartacus TV show. The very start of season 1 when he was an arrogant champion.
Silena Dulare
Meh. There is nothing truly "original" under the sun... its how you play it that make it unique. So.. steal good ideas... and steal often... just only the best stuff! :)
Yes, Silena is all about hardship under pain and suffering ... assuming one is lucky enough and strong enough to survive building one's strength and power. But she would never 'try' to convert someone.. she would merely tell 'her' philosophy of pain and if they felt it was right for them then she would introduce them to the faith.. the bargain of power for pain in the service of Zon-Kuthon.
Because... she knows... though many priests who claim to be devout worshiper's of The Midnight Lord refuse to see the truth of it.. the Cold HARD TRUTH of it...
ZON-KUTHON does not care. He brings no wisdom, no enlightenment.. no deeper meaning to the suffering and torment he revels in. There is no purpose to his way.. he is mad. Insane.
Nothing more.
But he is more than willing to share his divine power to those who willingly submit themselves to his perverse pleasures and indulgences.
Every cleric of Zon-Kuthon is merely making a bargain for power.. temporary power.. until they die and Zon-Kuthon collects their souls for his eternal play-things. His only ethos is to not spoil his perverse enjoyment of the suffering he spreads at the hands of those who partake of his power.
Silena would not lightly subject anyone to such a... pointless end.
The solace she has found in Zon-Kuthon is the wisdom of her own devising.. that pain and suffering can forge one into something stronger then they were. But that is ALL her insight... her enlightenment. Zon-Kuthon has no such ethos.. or care for any meaning to his perverse ways.
But Silena would point out there is one... and only one redeeming quality of The Midnight Lord... he does not demand anyone yield to his ways. ALL must be willing. Weather that be asking for his 'gentle' touch or foolishly of one's own free will entering his claimed realm in the Great Beyond!
There is something else.. but she lacks the insight or knowing being only a mortal woman... to really make any determination of a deeper meaning - his sister SHELYN. He will not harm her. THAT says something... not sure what, but perhaps there is some spark of sanity or love for his sister that stays his hand. Perhaps the Midnight Lord's only bit of wisdom is...
LOVE is STRONGER than pain?
If Silena had her heart's wish.. She would seek to ascend to God-hood as "The Maiden of Pain", "The Lover's Lash".. A Goddess of Strength - THROUGH pain! Teaching this philosophy. Basically the Goddess LOVIATAR. Not as a rival of Zon-Kuthon but perhaps a lesser power a different aspect of his own raw power.

You may use achievement feats if so wished. As it is a chargeable product, unlike many of the AP player guides, I do not insist on its use.
I do not know if I am a good arbiter of morals, Sunphoenix. I manage to combine being fairly unshockable with being a bit of a prude! I also happen to be a Mormon in real life. However, you are welcome to consult in private if you are uncertain of the propriety of any post.
Silena Dulare
Ok. On achievement feats do they still cost a regularly acquired feat slot or do you acquire them 'free' if you meet the requirements {ie. Successfully complete the requisite tasks}?
{Big Grin!} Its a non-issue Megan... an honest approach makes you a good arbiter none-the-less. It is ok to be explicit as long as it is in good taste and not offensive. One can achieve that with properly thought out writing... H.P. Lovecraft did so... in his rambling wordy fashion. :)
Silena Dulare
Meh. Not much use to me then... I have Silena's feats planned out until 11th level. Ah well..seemed to good to be true! :) No biggie.
G3Lv - Selective Channeler
F2Lv - Combat Expertice
G5Lv - Improved Trip
G7Lv - Tenebrous Spell
G9Lv - Umbral Spell
G11Lv - Shadow Grasp
And thanks!
Sonya Amir
It's good for Sonya cause shes built healer heavy and her attack spells are mostly mind control compulsions and charms so I don't do much direct damage thus Healing hands is very nice cause I can build towards it fairly quickly.
Silena Dulare
That's cool! I'm still pondering Silena's feat progression somewhat... not sure if those Shadowcasting Feats are really all that useful...
Calain
If selena plans on using miss chance (via your touch of darkness ability) then MOONLIGHT STALKER is nice.
You already have Blindfight from your domain and are planning on combat expertise.

Oh.. haha. No.. Silena has the sub-domain of Night... she does not "Touch of Darkness" instead she is has "Night Hunter" - in dim light or darkness she can turn invisible.
But I will looking into the Moonlight Stalker... where it that from?
Silena Dulare
Looks like the spiders beat us all on initiative ...so its Megan's first move... they also get their surprise round of attacks.
However... Megan left this message at her other game this morning...
Bad cold & no voice, feeling a bit dead right now :(
So we'll all have to wait until she is feeling better.
Silena Dulare
{Darn}...was hoping for a post today.
Silena Dulare
I've not posted a reactions as the Spiders have beaten me on initiative... technically Silena is flat-footed. So I'm waiting to see who gets attacked first as they have 'effectively' surprised everyone EXCEPT Jengren and Samuel. They are technically the only ones that can react until after the spider's make their attacks.. THEN we can react in order of initiative.

Ah.. thx.
Well looks like everyone is going to act.. so I might as well too..

Ok... I have added a LOOT section to my character sheet to keep track of any discovered treasure from this point on. I don't need to be the only one to keep track of it so feel free to make your own lists if you see the need.

Amon, check this out.
Somebody made an Archeologist bard into GAMBIT.
thought it was pretty cool.

Hey guys,
You know, given Silena's arrival, I think might Multiclass to Straight Inquisitor levels from here on in...I can't see him wanting healing or buffs of her. Religion is pretty big to all my chars. So going Inquisitor from here will let him self heal/buff, but still be the 2 handed melee badass.
The torture subdomain actually sounds quite good, but the only deity I can find that has it is a goblin deity on PFWIKI. You guys aren't aware of any others?
I was actually surprised Zon-Kuthon didn't have it but I'm not sure Calain could worship him.....
I started a thread on it.
Barb into Inquisitor
Silena Dulare
Hahaha.. You know Silena is not demanding that anyone worship Zon-Kuthon... {in fact unless one knew precisely what they were getting into she would actually discourage them from taking up his worship on a whim} She is requiring they only show the most smallest modicum of gratitude.. a simple 'thank you' to Zon-Kuthon for his servant's providing aid and healing!
'Kuthites' are not proselytizers!! Cause Zon-Kuthon does not care.
She's not going to demand anything more than that, and in combat will likely not waste time asking for for such then as it is a most inopportune moment for simple expedience.
.. but do what you will if you wish to deny yourselves of her healing power.
It is a small torture.. for one to show some small humility and gratitude to the power of her dark divine patron - The Midnight Lord. But she does not make it a demeaning thing in anyway other than the fact that one must acknowledge Zon-Kuthon's beneficence, a small difference... but much a bigger Torment perhaps - to those with hubris or overblown pride in themselves. Which is the point.
"Let ALL BE HUMBLE in the SIGHT of the GODS!"
Jengren Dsustrun
I had cleric in a 3.5 game that requested a small tithe from party members when he first joined the group. His rationale was his God granted the gift and if they wanted his God's blessing they could pay a small tithe. The cleric would then give those tithes along with a substantial portion of his wealth to orphanages. It irked the two of the players for bit but it was good role play.
Calain
sounds good. Calain has endured alot to make him what he is. Respect or thanking a god like Zon Kuthon would likely be too much for his pride.
Sarenrae he'd not have a problem with. Not that he knows heaps about religon but I believe she is a major faith in Kelamshan, so he would know she is a good goddess of fire.
