An awesome Dwarf/Elf rivalry game I'm playing in is looking for one dwarf (or gnome) and two or three elves (or halflings). The respective recruitment threads are here and here.
I'm playing for the dwarf team and it's very enjoyable so far. Dwarves have six level 3 players at the moment, elves are still level 2 and only 4 players, so they are in need of some serious help to even stand a slightest chance :)

As you may have noticed, I put in a request for transfer of the game & discussion threads and they are now under my name.
I think I have come up with a suitable 'exit strategy' for your side-quest, and then back to the AP (where at least I do know what I am talking about!).

Please note: I've just been hired and start next week. Posting may be erratic until I get the hang of things!
However, I still intend to start you off tomorrow (Saturday), but things may move a little slowly to begin with - please bear with me, and rest assured that you are not going to be abandoned (again).

The rest of you: OK, you don't know that the approaching figure is your new party member, so feel free to be wary or even hostile until you find out who he is and what he's doing! I rely on your role-playing abilities here :)

Hey guys sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Girlfriend and her parents came into town on Thursday and her dad ended up passing away while they were here so...its been a rough couple of days and haven't had time to get online.
I got my post up though and they went home today so things should be getting back to normal...well as normal as they can be...

Oh dear, so sorry to hear this.
Heavenly Father, receive this good man's soul into your tender care, and comfort those who mourn him. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Saviour, Amen.
Take all the time you need. Your girlfriend needs you now. We'll be here later.

Thanks for your understanding everyone. He's been batteling cancer for 12 years so...while it was totally unexpected this weekend it wasn't out of the blue.
She lives in MI and came to Chicago(where I live) for the weekend...makes it hard to take care of her but at least I was able to help her get through the first couple rough days. He died on Saturday and she stayed with me until Monday.
I'm slowly getting back on my feet here and will be able to get back to posting today probably...hopefully the players in the games I run don't want to kill me yet...
| Pashaj |
I hope I'm not being too useless in this situation, but Pashaj journeyed into the desert in large part to seek rumors of a "burning oasis," which matches an Iroran parable. Seeing the tree burning above the camp, he is awestruck, and unable to help douse the flames.
He will not try to stop anybody else from putting the fire out, but considering the religious significance this has for him, I can't justify him grabbing a bucket himself. If he gathers himself together enough to stop staring, he will almost certainly start meditating. I hope his non-participation in this does not prove a problem.

Right on. I figured I'd say something because over the years, I've played more than a few people (none in this game) who "roleplay" their way out of helping in virtually every encounter/dangerous situation, and that's not what I intend. Character portrayal/exploration is a big reason I play these games, but teamwork is important to me too. These will be moments like this with Pashaj, but it shouldn't be a regular trend.
Overall, this event excites me for Pashaj's motivation within the story. This, coupled with the defiled Iroran church, makes him certain that he is intended to be here.

You may find yourself having to explain your actions to other PCs - and maybe my NPCs too - but with my DM head on I am entirely happy with your portrayal of your character!
For me role-playing is all about the creation of a shared alternate reality in which characters become 'real' within the context of their world. So I relish playing with other people who seem to have much the same idea!
