M Hobgoblin Druid 1

How does that healing check = fast healing thing work?

I think it's these rules:
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/skills/heal
section 'Long-term care'.

M Hobgoblin Druid 1

I know about those, but when he used "fast healing" it kind of threw me off. I was thinking he had houserules in place.

Male Human (Vudrani) Cleric (Evangelist) 1

Just a heads up, guys. I will be traveling, starting tomorrow. I should still have regular internet access and should still be able to post daily, but I wanted to give you a heads up regardless.

Everybody have a safe and happy holiday, no matter which it is you celebrate.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Sorry about my lack of posts recently. I've been moving to a new house, and internet access has been sketchy at best. Hopefully this will be resolved by the end of this week.

Fallout War Never Changes

Running a futuristic setting campaign based on the fallout setting. Rules are a mix between my own the modern d20 rules and the original fallout d20 ruleset. Please check it out if you are interested.

Happy holidays you lot ;)

Merry Christmas!

Male Human (Vudrani) Cleric (Evangelist) 1

Merry Christmas to all!

Male Human (Vudrani) Cleric (Evangelist) 1

Happy New Year!

Male Elf Ranger 1

Hey, sorry about the relative silence on the board recently; moved to a new house and internet is a bit low on the totem pole of things to get set up. I'll try not to let too long go between posts though.

Male Human Invulnerable Rager HP: 50/50 AC18/12/16, F6/R3/W2, Perception: +6, Survival +6, Init:+2; CMD:18; CMB+6

Still here, blade ready.

I think we're mostly waiting on Wareagle; he recently resurfaced in another game I'm in; I'll try to nudge him over here.

Sorry bout my little delay there but I am back and ready to get rolling again.

Male Human Teacher/11 | HP: 30/38 | AC: 9, T: 10, FF: 10 | CMB: 5, CMD: 4 | F: 5, R: 4, W: 9 | Init: +2 | Perc: +4

Wareagle:

Yes, it would seem like I am stalking you...
Are you still playing in Thaldor?

Male Human Invulnerable Rager HP: 50/50 AC18/12/16, F6/R3/W2, Perception: +6, Survival +6, Init:+2; CMD:18; CMB+6

Still here.

Male Human Ranger 1

Not sure what is happening guys. The pace has massively fallen off. Is our game dying?

M Hobgoblin Druid 1

I think this little side trek in the dungeon/church is taking more time than intended. I also just noticed there is an arrow beside my name in the other thread. I will go an make a post so we can kill the swarm and move on, hopefully.

Yes posting dying in main thread lately is there anything wrong guys?

M Hobgoblin Druid 1

No. I did not know we were doing things in initiative order on the other thread, but that is probably an oversight on my part.

male Elf Witch 5

Samuel just has kind of a hard time doing much right now, especially after his limited spells are cast. Once we gain a level, it will be a lot easier to keep Sam going for more than one combat.

Male Human (Vudrani) Cleric (Evangelist) 1

Pashaj is still here. I will post in gameplay later tonight.

Pretty sure we are going with a post free for all in general play and initiative in combat only.

Male Human Ranger 1

Funny how on char op boards they always pan evocation. We really coulda used a nice burning hands for that fight.

I'm new to PbP and I'm not sure how identifying items really works - i.e. how much mechanical info can be shared in-character. I think that at least Pashaj should now be eligible to look under the spellcraft spoiler.

Also, the rules say that using a wand is a DC20 UMD check, and failure does not expend a charge. So if we have a minute of free time, Raulzig can use the wand himself (UMD +7 translates to about 80% chance of success).

Oh and I'd rather heal everyone at least above 1/2 HP before attempting to disturb the corpse, you can never be too careful with those things.

Male Human Ranger 1

Agreed.

M Hobgoblin Druid 1

I can use the wand without a UMD check since it is on my class list. I thought we had a cleric so he should be able to also use it without a UMD check.

The confusion I had was because Raulzig learned what the wand is, but couldn't use it. Hvok and Pashaj could use it but did not know what it was. They could only take Raulzig's word for it.

But it was all moot, because I just noticed that CLW is even on the Bard spell list! I didn't expect that! :) So, who needs healing apart from Calain?

Male Human (Vudrani) Cleric (Evangelist) 1

Yeah, we have four party members with CLW on their list (Samuel, Raulzig, H'Vok, and Pashaj), so any of us four can use it without UMD. Urdaan could as well in three levels, though I'm guessing we'll have expended the wand by then.

I think we should get everybody topped off if we can. Garavel was down a a lot of HP himself.

M Hobgoblin Druid 1

Urdaan can already use it. Paladin and Rangers don't have to wait until level 4 to be able to use wands.

Quote:
Spell Trigger: Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it's even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken. Spell trigger items can be used by anyone whose class can cast the corresponding spell. This is the case even for a character who can't actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin. The user must still determine what spell is stored in the item before she can activate it. Activating a spell trigger item is a standard action and does not provoke attacks of opportunit

Pallys and rangers both fall in this group since they get the spell on their class list, but don't become casters until 4th level.

Male Human (Vudrani) Cleric (Evangelist) 1

Oh, wow. I didn't know that. Cool.

Male Human Invulnerable Rager HP: 50/50 AC18/12/16, F6/R3/W2, Perception: +6, Survival +6, Init:+2; CMD:18; CMB+6

Damn, looks like Urdan is gone...

Just wanted to chip in and say I'm impressed by Pashaj's endless supply of verses :) Are they actual quotes, or do you make them up as you go? If the latter, perhaps you should start your own religious movement :)

Last time Denji posted on these boards was on Jan 24 hope he's ok :(

Male Elf Ranger 1

Hey everyone! (and thanks for the PM Calain!)

I honestly sorry for the lack of posting; my laptop got nabbed from school a bit ago, and with all the loveliness that followed that, I completely forgot about the game. I'd be glad to rejoin, if that's alright with everyone.

M Hobgoblin Druid 1

The question is on the adoption of the motion for the reinstatement of one Urdaan Einalf.
All those in favor of this motion say Aye.

I say "Aye". :)

Of course your welcome to continue Urdaan and welcome back btw.

Aye and welcome back!

Male Human Invulnerable Rager HP: 50/50 AC18/12/16, F6/R3/W2, Perception: +6, Survival +6, Init:+2; CMD:18; CMB+6

Aye

Ha! Thanks. I'm glad you like them. I like to think I've been making them up, but I may be subconsciously channeling a number of sayings I'm familiar with. "Fruit falling from the tree" is hardly original, though Pashaj used the imagery to deliver a different "message" than the traditional adage. Mostly, I just try to be over the top and have fun with it.

Welcome back, Urdaan! Glad to still have you on board!

Male Elf Ranger 1

Thanks!
I'll get caught up as soon as I get out of work.
(phone posting is a pain)

M Hobgoblin Druid 1

Is it possible to get a ranged attack in if I change my position. I am aware of the penalties since I don't have any ranged attack feats

Male Elf Ranger 1

@Wareagle: Sorry if this has been asked already, but do you want us to post our actions in order, or post as we can per round?

Post as you can per round faster and i'll be able to put them all into order, although if an enemy acts before you I advice you wait as it could change your action dearly.

@Hvok: It is very possible to attack into the fray mind you though your chances of hitting it would be quite slim...

Male Human (Vudrani) Cleric (Evangelist) 1

Yeah, I posted slightly early, but I wanted to resolve the rolls related to my retreat. Pashaj is at 3 HP right now, so he is likely to avoid the fray as best he can for the time being.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Just remembered I'd taken the Child of Zolurket trait, with the idea that it would link Urdaan closer to the dwarven side of his upbringing. And now we're fighting ghouls, which elves have defenses against as well. Between this and gnoll killer, I'm wondering if I got a peek at the playbook that I'm unaware of.

Actually Urdann I have made no reference to the book at all yet except for a few enemy npc's (Shiva) and Garaels stats of course, everything you have done so far has been 100% added by me it may also change the story in the long run. I tend to add twists to my campaigns and not just follow the book 100%.

Male Elf Ranger 1

No worries here. I just found it amusing that the one thing so far I really can't fight is spiders. :)

Sorry guys, I caught a flu and won't be able to keep up for a while. Please bear with me for a few more days.

Male Elf Ranger 1

Sorry to hear that mate. Feel better soon!
