It appears that you have lost Chakam in recent weeks as well. Would you all like to open the recruitment for a sixth player?
Nishv Nilara |
5 should be plenty.

And, lastly, I am taking over this AP as your GM. If your previous GM should re-surface, they chose to walk away three weeks ago, and have since waived any ownership of this AP. I need to be crystal clear on that point before we start.
Are we all in agreement with that? Due to the indecision voiced earlier, I need to await all five of you responding prior to beginning anew. Once I hear assent, I will inform the Paizo PbP overlords and the game will be migrated to me.
Are we clear?
Nishv Nilara |
Agreed

I'm in. I dig Tempesf a bunch, but a simple message would've taken 15 seconds and we didn't even get that. It's all yours.
GM Dinketry |
I've been doing some research and lots of reading on this campaign, and I'll be doing a little bit of retro-fitting to some of the set pieces and NPCs that won't likely affect your characters much, but will definitely aid in furthering the story.
Up first: I've turned 'Father' Zastoran into an alchemist. He's still faithful to Nethys, but this change fits more with our story. He also will be human, not halfling (needed for his rebuild). All of this will have a distinct benefit to YOU, the dear PCs, as you may have already seen.
While I'm thinking about things, do any or some of you have HeroLab? If you do, could you please send me your character sheet at we.be.dunedinpfs@gmail.com? If you don't have HeroLab, would you mind sending me an image of your character sheet to the same email? I'll be keeping the file on my computer so I can refer to it in off-line time.
Lastly, I'm travelling today out of town with the wife and baby. My connectivity will likely be spotty for the next 4 days, but I'll still endeavour to provide regular posts.
Thanks for your confidence.

Hey y'all,
Because I'm not yet the GM of this thread officially, I can't alter the links on the 'Campaign Info' tab. I'm also GMing another game under this moniker, so I can't add the link for the current map to my profile (yet), so it's sitting in the Gameplay thread. Once I get the thread swapped over to me, you'll see future map links under the 'Campaign Info' tab.
Thanks,
Dink
GM Dinketry |
No need to worry about moving your token on the map currently. We will reserve that for combat. I simply wanted to give you a scale representation of the monastery.
Rafyyk Halfmoon |
Rafyyk doesn't have that skill yet as he is a more charisma-based worshipper go-with-the-flow type who was imprisoned for many years among the orcs.
GM Dinketry |
Ah, my mistake. I saw it on your Skills list but didn't notice that it had no points next to it.
Nishv Nilara |
Somehow we've created a party where the only person with Knowledge Religion is the Sorcerer with a +1 via his campaign trait.
Lol I guess it's nice we all favor flavor?
Rafyyk Halfmoon |
Next level I will have it. =)
Ah from the west okay yeah my orientation was off. I thought the little compass symbol thing in the corner was north towards us.
GM Dinketry |
Technically, in looking at Loran's profile, Loran doesn't have Knowledge Religion, either, just a bonus to it when he takes a rank in it.
I still need character sheets from everyone but Nishv, please. Could you send them to we.be.dunedinpfs@gmail.com?
Thanks,
Dink
GM Dinketry |
I've received confirmation - Loran is still with us. Just busy IRL. He should rejoin us soon.
GM Dinketry |
Uzma and Loran, if you could send along your character sheets via we.be.dunedinpfs@gmail.com, then I'll have a whole set!
Uzma, I also see on your character profile that you have languages 'TBD'. Do you want to decide what extra languages you're going to speak now?
Rafyyk Halfmoon |
I'm assuming you still don't have access to put links in the Campaign tab or anything for the map right? I have to hunt for the one post where you had the link every time if I'm not at my home computer lol.
GM Dinketry |
Apologies, I'll try and post it somewhere on this thread regularly, as well as the Gameplay thread until I get the editing privileges signed over to my account.
GM Dinketry |
Thanks for the heads-up, Uzma. My inclination, given that we haven't heard from Loran on the boards in over a week, is to NOT bot two separate PCs in this game, but instead await one of your (i.e. Loran or Uzma) returns.
Unless people say otherwise....?
Korum Scratcher |
Same. I'd rather we have a quorum and not bot 2 of us. What sort of timeframe do we have from Loran, if any?
GM Dinketry |
So I've just heard from Loran, and he's not likely to be available until the 16th. I'm happy to continue until Uzma is away (botting Loran as necessary), and then we will officially be on hold until Loran resurfaces (or Uzma does, whichever is sooner).
Are you ok with that Uzma?
GM Dinketry |
Rafyyk, where you are on the map is not where you heard the sounds from. I described the room that you're in on the map as "silent". The room where Uzma has moved (the rounded room to the north) is the room where the noises are coming from.
Nishv Nilara |
If crashing down is an option I vote for that. Though I'm sure we would not make the NPCs happy if we did that.

FYI, I've not put the enemies on the map as they are twenty feet above you and scampering around about the rafters. If/when you come up to the rafters, I'll get them on the map.
GM Dinketry |
I'm very impressed with your use of low-level deflection/concealment effects, folks. Keep it up!
I've wanted to ask y'all about Critical Hits/Critical Fumbles. One of the things I love most about Adventure Paths is the opportunity to use some stuff that isn't Pathfinder Society-legal, like the Fumble/Critical Decks.
Now, I don't have an Android device (the only place with the iCrit/iFumble app is available currently), but I do have the decks, and I've been able to get a PDF version of the decks downloaded.
What I'm asking is:
I'm open to ideas, but the only firm idea that I have is the fact that if we use the Critical Hit deck, we must use the Critical Fumble deck as well (it's only fair).
What do people reckon?

Rafyyk Halfmoon |
GM so you know what I am referencing.
Powerless Prophecy (Oracle Curse): You are forewarned of danger but can’t act to prevent it. You gain uncanny dodge, as the rogue class feature. However, you can’t take any actions in a surprise round, including free actions, except for flash of insight (see Revelations below). In the absence of a surprise round, you are staggered for the entire first round of combat. At 5th level, you gain a +4 insight bonus on initiative checks. At 10th level, you gain improved uncanny dodge as the rogue ability, using your oracle level as your rogue level. At 15th level, you gain a +4 insight bonus on all your saving throws and to your AC during surprise rounds and when you are otherwise unaware of an attack.
Rafyyk Halfmoon |
It's not that great of a curse really, but at least it's only the surprise round/1st round of combat that I get screwed in exchange for uncanny dodge/imp uncanny dodge/and sort of improved intiative.
Nishv Nilara |
I'm not a huge fan of the crit/fumble decks but only because I think that if the players get to use the decks then NPCs should as well.
Which leads to things like a crit in the first combat of Serpent's Skull from a crab that leads to the decapitation of the party Sorcerer.
It happened. I offered the PCs to have a redraw. They chose not to late. Really set the tone for the campaign.

I have mixed feelings on it. One of the tabletop groups I'm in uses it (over several different PF games now) and it sometimes makes for very memorable things...and also PC death and misery. Lol. But that group...has an exorbitant amount of critical his and fumbles it feels like, more so than other groups I've played in.
Nishv Nilara |
Also, my post will be up in a bit. Today was a long day.
Edit: Posted. Kinda scrawny but, it's all I could muster today. I'm sorry team.
Also, some GMs want a climb check for a ladder and some don't so if you prefer to have one, feel free to roll it.
GM Dinketry |
Hey y'all, it looks like Uzma is on holiday at this point, and we've yet to see Loran re-surface, so officially, we're on hold for now. As mentioned, if Loran does return soon, I will bot Uzma and we can continue on.
Good news - I've been added on by the Paizo.com overlords as the game's GM! I'm planning a big renovation of the 'Campaign Info" homepage, but you'll find the links there work well now. Stay tuned to that tab for more info.
As far as Critical Decks go, here's my thoughts on how they should be used (adopted from the Glass Cannon Podcast folks):
Those are my thoughts; let me know what you think. We will finish this combat round and officially go on hiatus until further notice.
Nishv Nilara |
With the hiatus I think we should take this time to chat a bit. Unless everyone would rather ignore each other?
-Posted with Wayfinder
Korum Scratcher |
Nope. Gonna ignore you, Nishv. Let not one more word escape you for the next two weeks! Suffer in silence!
/joke
Nishv Nilara |
Well, I never!
