GM Tempest |

Hey everyone! Feel free to drop a line about yourselves by way of introduction, if you wish to. Please check out everyone else's characters, if you have not already done so. I'd like everyone to be connected to at least one other character in the party in some way.
We'll start the adventure Monday.
I'll have some things about game expectations (that I have and that you can have from me) up later today.

Rafyyk Halfmoon |

Hello all! GM, thanks for having me! =)
So we have an Oracle, a Sorcerer, a Druid, a Monk, a Paladin and a Witch, is that right? Is someone good with traps? lol
I have a link to Loran from his background linking to mine. =)
And I can see Korum and Rafyyk have some similarities to find common ground with once they get chatting.
Nishv Nilara and I are tied together as we were both assigned to this by the Pathfinders.
That brings up a good point. I assume it's not a secret that we're Pathfinders? That we are able to tell people that?

Chakam |

Hey guys! Happy to be here. Thanks for the invite, GM :)

GM Tempest |

So I know that we have an emphasis on casting, and some absence of some skill focus/roguishness, but I tend to be story first, mechanics and everything else secondary, so there you are. Plus, I guess that may generate some creative puzzle-solving.
As far the this game goes, I am looking for 2 posts/day(mon-fri). If we can get 1/day on the weekends, that'd be great. If not, no worries. Please feel free to keep open communication if things come up. I'm a husband & father, and have plenty of other life commitments, so I get it. Real life always comes first. We can probably work something out for the game, in the event something happens.
As far as initiative, I will be clumping it together and rolling your initiatives for you. So for example, initiative order:
Nishv - 20
Uzma - 15
Gnoll - 13
Chakam - 12
Loran - 10
Hyenas - 9
Rafyyk - 6
Korum -4
In this case the order of Nishv/Uzma doesn't matter since they both go before the Gnolls. Either can go, then the Gnoll, then either Chakam or Loran, etc. However, Rafyyk & Korm should go before Uzma or Nishv go again. This should help speed up the ability to post more often when you're able.
Feel free to throw out any questions/comments/concerns here or by PMing me. Looking forward to a great adventure!

Nishv Nilara |

Happy to get a chance to be a part of this!
@Rafyyk I think it would definitely make sense that our characters at least have some sort of working relationship if not a friendship. Maybe they went through through the application process together?
@Chakam sparring buddies?

Nishv Nilara |

Happy to be here!
I already have ties via backstory to Rafyyk, we are childhood friends/rivals ish. Looking through backstories I don't see anyone else I would really have known.
I would think that if Rafyyk and Nishv have some sort of working relationship then it's possible Nishv and Loran could've been/will be introduced to each other.

Korum Scratcher |

Happy to be here, too! This looks like it'll be a good group.

Korum Scratcher |

Would it be presumptuous to have had Korum sketch or even ink the butterfly that Halfmoon has? Or perhaps the two were slaves together, before Rafyyk's escape. I think that's the easiest common thread for me to weave.
Failing that, Korum could easily have been a porter or something for Nishv during his trip into Katapesh, where the two would have made one another's acquaintance.

I would be fine with that. At the very least they were assigned to go to Katapesh together from Absalom so traveled quite a distance with plenty of time to get to know one another. =)
Perhaps Halfmoon's friend Jeraq hired Uzma as a guide in the past?
I am fine with that if the GM is.

I don't have a problem with that, if the GM doesn't, either way.

Korum Scratcher |

Intros are always the longest!
It's true! We're a whole pack of surly, too. :D

Nishv Nilara |

I was just curious, before we get too involved, are we tracking XP or leveling at milestones?
-Posted with Wayfinder

Korum Scratcher |

I think XP is more fun if its an elaborate minigame unto itself. Clearly, we should begin a competition, and create a bracket to see who gets to level up at the next opportunity. The loser will actually gain a negative level, unless they steal the immunity idol, which is hiding under GM Tempest's pillow. You have to get it while he's sleeping, without waking him. It's like counting coup. What could possibly go wrong!
/joke

Korum Scratcher |

Ha! Hey, it's a new crowd, and it's always hard to gauge reaction via text.

Nishv Nilara |

And it looks like we'll just stay with milestones for leveling up.
But I really liked the minigame competition idea!

Korum Scratcher |

For real Nishv, Tempest was right - the spade thing was crazy clever. You also write like a BEAST. Have you been doing PbP for long?

Nishv Nilara |

Its easy to appear to be clever when you have time to think about your response lol
As far as my time doing pbp goes, I've literally, been in 2 other pbp games. One ended about 2 days after it started and the other is going right now. I just like to write.
I have been playing tabletops for ~10 years though and because I'm a crazy person I get super in-depth with my characters.
Edit: for Nishv I've been trying to channel a little bit of Sazed from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series. And I'm currently in the fourth Game of Thrones book (reading them back to back) so I think GRRM's style is rubbing off on me a bit.

Sazed was BY FAR my favorite character in that book. I played a cleric a few years ago whose concept started with the Feruchemist and turned into something else by the end.

Korum Scratcher |

Sazed is absolutely the best part of the series - I'm playing an Alchemist in Carrion Crown with my face-to-face group, and I've been sort of treating him like a Feruchemist, with all of his potion brewing and preserving flasks/alchemical allocation and such.
I like Nishv a ton so far! Korum is kind of a combination of Frederick Douglass (the smart freed slave narrative is sort of dominated by men like him) meets Minsc from the old Baldur's Gate games - all jovial and fond of his animal friend, and way smarter than he lets on at first.

Korum Scratcher |

Speaking of non-sequiturs, is anyone else in this group going to PaizoCon next weekend?
I only live about 7 hours away by car, so I'm headed over.

Korum Scratcher |

Rafyyk, I've enjoyed your writing quite a bit :D

GM Tempest |

Korum, I don't have a problem regarding your last post. You probably could have even included it with the OOC line in your previous post. I'm not sure how other GMs handle these matters, but that's perfectly fine with me. If anyone does anything I have a problem with, I'm sure I will ask that we not.
All good so far.

Nishv Nilara |

Haha, I was just kidding around, not fishing for compliments. =)
This one has yet to think that any of us is doing a sub-par job with our posts.

Nishv Nilara |

Well, nards.

Just to keep everyone in on the loop, Loran said he's got a few things going on. If he's not able to stay on board with us, we'll stay as is (I hope that he is, of course - particularly with the Sun/Moon thing going on, as that was part of the reason why Rafyyk was created!).
I recruited six because, unfortunately, not everyone tends to be able to stay on in an online game, I've noticed. If we end up going down to four, I'll recruit one more from a new pool.
Just want to be transparent. Hope this helps.

Korum Scratcher |

So you folks know, I'm headed up to Seattle for PaizoCon tomorrow afternoon. I'll probably post a bit in the morning, but won't be back until Monday night.
