ATTENTION ALL. CONSIDERING THE SUBMISSIONS AND MY REAL DESIRE TO HASH OUT THIS CAMPAIGN TO ITS FULLEST.

I WILL BE TAKING TWO TABLES, ONE SELECTED FROM INDIVIDUAL APPLICANTS AND ONE COMPRISED OF THE GROUP SUBMISSION.

I will get the group submission game thread rolling as soon as they are ready.

For everyone else Submission Deadline Is Thursday Feb 4th. Selections announced Thursday night or Friday depending on how the reviewing goes.

Thanks for admitting us, GM! I will let the rest of the group know.

GM, since you''ll be running two tables, do you want to have both tables linked to the same discussion thread? It's possible to have multiple gameplay threads attached to the same discussion thread (you can see this if you look at the tables I GMed for Risen from the Sands and Overflow Archives.) Will the groups run into each other?

Also... will there be background skills? Most of us are otherwise complete except for gear purchases.

My natural reaction is to say yes to the Background skills and no to linked discussion.

If a linked discussion is something that all players are interested in I may change my mind with the stipulation that if someone gives up spoilers I will unleash an Ancient Red Mighty Ravener upon your plot spoiling faces!!

I think that it depends on whether you are running both groups through the same story or if we're all part of the same campaign in different areas of Last Wall doing different missions.

If we're doing different missions in the same world, a linked discussion can be fun.

As for the yes to background skills -- yay! It'll make those 2+int classes so much less painful. And it might help with the arcane submission in the other group.

Excellent! I will add the background skills.

I agree with Rataji, if the two groups are doing different things in the same area, it would be interesting to have them linked and, perhaps, encounter each other.

Otherwise not.

I have to rejigger a few points of my background skills; I forgot that Zohruk was going to have a few points in Profession (gambler), and basically earn his spending money by running the barracks' weekly card game. :)

Hrm. So is there anyone at the second table yet?

No decisions made yet.

Meaning 'is there anyone not involved with the unified group'.

  • Thanks DM. One of my inactive campaigns just restarted, so I'll be joining them. Thank you for the offer. Have a great game.

    cheers

Sorry for the delay, here's Daen's profile. Other than spells for the day, we're ready to go.

Name: Daen, no suname due to being disinherited. Currently introducing himself as Knight of Ozem as it's one thing he can truly own.
    Race: Half-elf, half Brevoyan Noble.
    Class: Magus, no archetype.

    Physical Decription:
Daen is a tall dark haired but blue eyed thin man who often has dark circles under his eyes. His ears are quite long, so he tends to hide them behind his long hair. He is a pragmatist and his long term goal is to bring respect to his mother whom he loves.

    Personality:
His conduct is quite proper, and he will often be kind to people but not out of a desire to help or because he values people. He does it because it’s the easiest way to deal with people.

    Notes:

GM, I'd like to add more details to Daen's personality file:

Daen is ambitious, driven by the stigma of being a half-elf bastard of a noble house. His mind is logical, strategic and analyzes every situation. He loves order and is constantly striving to organize paperwork, books, and the chaos of others. He knows (now) that others aren't logical like him, but this still surprises him from time to time. He's uncertain in social situations but brave, daring and loyal to his friends. He rose to the top of his cohort on skill, brains and nerve and then stayed there. He makes a good leader because of his decisiveness, and ability to see long-term political ramifications. In battle and crisis, he thinks out of the box.

He's also hilarious, because he's naturally a little bit grumpy -- especially when an awkward social situation threatens to overwhelm him.

Thanks! it seems cool that you all know each other and have background. Let me know when you're ready to start.

For everyone else(not that I think anyone is lurking) Deadline is Thursday for finished submissions.

We're waiting on one more of our member to submit their application, but unless you plan on dropping us into the middle of a fight for the first scene, I don't think there's any problem with starting now.

Would it be possible to give us a chance to do a few posts of pre-game RP? I'd love to play out the first meeting between Rataji and the rest of the team, if we could. It will help me figure out how she fits into this established crew? Then we could fast forward into your plot.

If you open the thread now, we can dot and delete the gameplay. (If a player posts then delete it, it still appears in your campaigns. And your campaign doesn't start with a bunch of dots.)

    Gameplay up for table 1.

Table 2 yet to be chosen. Although it looks like I only have 5 applicants which means I'll end up choosing everyone lol.

    I ninja-dotted your thread!

When would you like to start your gameplay in the story?

Eh we'll see. Probably not tonight as in a moment I will leave work and drive home in a blizzard, which leads to shoveling and other cold weather related garbage.

You guys could play the arrival to Vigil. Unless everyone is already there? I guess I'm a little confused to if you all answered the summons from the intro recruitment, or if as Knights everyone is already a part of the crusade.

The story as I think we'd been working it out (guys, correct me if I've got this wrong) had Daen, Grimold, Kassie and Zohruk already as Knights. My interpretation of what we're thinking is (again, someone speak up if I'm wrong), the other three are already in Vigil as gameplay opens, having just returned from "the Ustalav job", and I'm just arriving from a separate mission, accompanying Rataji, both of us looking like something the warcat of Rull dragged in.

EDIT: and play it safe in the snow tonight.

There are four established knights. One Zohruk, traveled into Urgir to bust an arms deal and wound up with Rataji. Zohruk and Rataji are on the way back to Vigil. The other three are either in Vigil already or on the way back there from their last mission in Ustalov.

I suppose I should move this discussion to, well, the discussion thread.

EDIT: Yes play safe. Minnesota's got a blizzard coming in. The snow's thick already!

    Got it.

Sorry for the delay,.... and THANKS!

I'm moving house and preparing for two back-to-back conferences at the moment so it'll take a couple of days to add in background skills.

Kassie's stat-block is in her profile.

Wait, have people been chosen? Did I get in?

    yes/no.

Two tables. One has been selected, the other is still open.

    Hello Arkwright --

The Gm is going to take two tables of this game. He's filling table 1 with the Package Deal, and table 2 with a selection from the remaining candidates. He hasn't made his final selections yet for table 2, though your odds are good because there are only 5 submissions currently.

UNCLEAR: We don't know if both groups are going through the same story or having different adventures in Lastwall, with the possibility of meeting up at a later time.

    Does this help?

EDIT: NInja'd by the cat. But it's a nice cat, so Rataji pets it anyway and scratches its ears.

Ah gotcha, I thought Table 2 was the package and Table 1 the rest. My bad.

We from Cohort One wish those of you applying to be part of Cohort Two the best of luck. Looking at the applicants that you have already, you actually have an okay balance, though having a support / survival / skilled character would fill you out nicely. I hope you get one more application!

    I do skills pretty well.

    Pets cat again.

    Wizards usually do!

If I have another day or two I will be able to get my Elan Psion Nomad up, however my computer has been down the last few days and I am unsure of how much I can borrow my parents computer without it being too much.
    Anyways, cheers ^-^

    Cheers Gobo.

Well here is what I was able to get done tonight, it is still very incomplete but it might get a bit of the idea for him across.
Note: his feats, skills, powers and equipment are incomplete and his fluff at the bottom is unupdated/wrong but at least now I can work on it offline ^-^
Oh ya, Sir Horde here :)

    Character: Midioto, Elan Psion Nomad

Full list for those keeping track.

  • OK I have gotten significantly farther with developing Midiotos Backstory :)
He is an Elan Psion Nomad who will prestige into the Elocator class next level onward.
He is the embodiment of free spirited movement and can easily reposition allies as needed, or do other Psion tricks. If that fails he can always fall back on augmented mind thrusts for 5d10 damage :)
He was a Gnome before he was recreated as an Elan and often has some Gnomish characteristics. I also gave him the Excitable trait (if that is OK)

    Appearances/Personality
He wears yellow robes, his psionic focus is yellow (electricity) which seems to surround him like a pastel aura. Can you guess his favorite color? (It's not blue :p)
    Vivid brown eyes
Very hyperactive, he is always moving about and insatiably curious
Whenever he teleports, he does so with a mumbled formula and a POP!

My understanding is that we will be working with the Bright Crusade from Lastwall, where are you expecting us to start with this? Just signing up? New(ish) foot soldiers? Midioto would aim to become an officer or, even better a strategist.

I am still not done his crunch, but this should help significantly with his lore/Backstory :)

All PC's are adventurers of all walks of life responding to the call for aid sent out by the leadership of the crusades.

We will likely begin our campaign at a gathering in the Vigil town square. You all can have just arrived or have been staying at a local inn for a few days.

Will both tables be doing the same storyline, or different ones, Malleus?

Haven't decided. Probably will end up doing close to the same thing unless both tables are down for inter party antics.

There will be different specific intros for the different tables though.

    I'm down for antics.

I'm into antics if you're up for it, GM!

So, what, hijinx are off the table now...?

    Serious Antics Only!

There is no room at my tables for hijinks, tomfoolery, horseplay or nonsense!

Grimold, what did you get me into!?!?!?

What about escapades? Is that neutral territory?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Escapades on a case by case basis. But certainly NO rowdiness, capers, shenanigans, clowning, OR buffoonery!

You're taking out about 77% of my repertoire. I'm one-half buffoon on my imaginary godfather's side.

What about slapstick, can we do some of that? I've always been one for rough-housing myself or straight up misbehavior. Does that mean I won't get chosen?

He accepted me with a chorus of absurd dead relatives, one of whom is a lech obsessed with twins. You'll be fine I think. :)
