Hello!
As happens at times in PbP campaigns we've lost two players from our campaign. We're currently running through the Half-Dead City adventure of the Mummy's Mask AP, though it is heavily modified to fit my homebrew setting.
More information on the setting can be found here.
Our party currently consists of:
Dorian, human swashbuckler (and trained lawyer!)
Gil Odalis, human barbarian (team leader and amateur engineer!)
Lilia, part human/part plant alchemist
We're most deficient in healing and knowledge. The game is set in Shibbati, a city in the Citrine Sultanate (a desert kingdom with a mostly Kobold population).
Chargen notes:
- 2nd level.
- Most classes allowed. Sorcerers and summoners not allowed.
- Attributes via standard point buy method. 20 points.
- PFS rules for hit points.
- 3rd party content possible but must be approved by me first.
We're going to have a short recruitment period and pick a new player on Friday the 6th.

Hello JGray. I read through some of gameplay and I enjoy your GMing style. I have a few questions before I start making a character though.
- Why no sorcerers? I don't really play sorcerers much myself, but it's not normally a disallowed class. Just curious.
- What races are allowed?
- What are the rules for traits and drawbacks?
- How much wealth do we have?
- What are you looking for in the background and fluff of the character? Do you want something brief, or a very intricate character?
A healer and knowledge person...an interesting challenge, but I'm sure I can come up with something!
Edit: I found a class that will fit your niche perfectly. The Priest. It's 3rd party content, but from a good source (Adamant Entertainment), so I want to get your thoughts on it before making the character.

Huh, I kinda like the setting, with crystals everywhere. Sounds really interesting. Would you be interested in taking a PbP newbie? Got almost 2 years of GM'ing under my belt, but no PC experience (yes, I know, don't judge). Might be looking into some kind of arcane control caster, for knowledge/damage prevention.

@CampinCarl: Arcane magic is relatively new to the setting - only a hundred years old or so. There hasn't been any interbreeding with dragons (as there are none), demons, fae, etc etc to introduce the bloodlines.
All races from the Krystallos wiki are allowed. I'll allow wealth at maximum for 1st level. The party is just entering into some treasure so there'll be a party fund for supplies, I imagine. 2 traits, 3 if you take a drawback. Background should be a paragraph but more if you like. I like detail but I'm not going to demand it.
I'm not convinced on the Priest class you presented. It doesn't really seem to give up much in exchange for all that knowledge. I don't think I'm going to allow it.
Obsidian: I'm willing to work with newbies if you're selected, absolutely.
Warrick: There are no Samsaran in the campaign setting.

Would like to dot, for a Seeker Oracle with the Life mystery if that would work. Can try to get something up this afternoon.

Ah, this part of the original post confused me.
We're going to have a short recruitment period and pick a new player on Friday the 6th.
Either way, I'm already most of the way through building an illithid cleric of pharasma with the healing and knowledge domains. I've never played this particular race before and I'm having fun thinking up a background.

JGray, what languages would be good to pick up for this campaign? I found the tab for languages in the wiki, but it doesn't mention which ones are more commonly used.
Edit: How should I go about picking a name for an illithid? Acording to the Krystallos wiki, they meditate and pick their own adult names, and an example they give is "Contemplates in Shadows". Does that mean that a name like "Seeker of Lore" would be appropriate?

@Gen: Keep in mind we're in an exploration campaign. If you have a cavalier there won't be much of a chance for mounts.
@CampinCarl: Name sounds appropriate. Everyone knows Amethystish and their native language. Knowing both Citrinic and Ancient Citrinic will be useful. Also, keep in mind that it isn't Pharasma. The Totem of death and the mind in Krystallos is Opal.

I have returned with my illithid cleric complete. His background is short but rich. I am still searching for a more appropriate avatar, but the choices for an illithid are very limited. I have included a picture under the "Appearance and Personality" spoiler to help convey his physical appearance. Alias here. I always appreciate feedback, thanks for consideration!
