Also a question that need to now be asked as what Tristan said implies that some things are not being use while others are. What is being house rules, what is being ignored, and what is rules as written?
Tristan Morgan
Yeah obviously as players your in. We have no intention of not allowing you in. I was just RP'ing a new person and I am the Warden so kingdom security is my Jam.
Yeah I need to label the map. I found the pictures like 2 years or well at least a year ago. I was looking at it and thinking what's that building.
Why the Arena? No real good reason besides for discounts. Thematically it does give a place for sporting events and mock battles and joust and tournaments and festivals.
Kevros wanted a Garrison and it halves the cost. Theater is good and it let us build another of those for 12BP after upgrading the original. We can now build 2 more inn's and another tavern at half cost as we expand into another district soon.
Also I didn't want to just dismiss the idea by saying there were not 2 houses. I'm actually fine building a magic shop in the next district at the capital It will be half cost after we build the Academy this month too. :)
I just don't want the magic item exploitation to increase our party wealth vastly. Now you can use the Ultimate campaign downtime rules and business rules to make as much as you want during downtime until Wolf says otherwise :)
We have a population of a Large Town. This makes the purchase limit 16,000gp I believe.
I haven't mapped out Turn 13 yet, but will start on it as it will be adding you to the council.
For those wondering how magic items can break wealth I will explain.
You are allowed to purchase/withdraw from the kingdom 1BP=2000 gold. So let's say a +3 sword gets rolled randomly that's 18000gp or 9BP. Well if your kingdom is running well that a drop in the bucket a few months from now. So the kingdom buys you the item. This is on top of what you have gained adventuring. Or you get a random high cost item that's crappy in there or no one can use, but your kingdom is rolling in BP. You have the kingdom buy/withdraw the item. You then sell item back into the kingdom as it's now personal property and get the gold to buy what you want. I mean you can already do this by withdrawing BP from the kingdom. So we don't need to ignore the items. In fact, we may get useful things pop up we want to buy.
So Cleo feel free to be in charge of Magic item generation :)
Tristan Morgan
Also a question that need to now be asked as what Tristan said implies that some things are not being use while others are. What is being house rules, what is being ignored, and what is rules as written?
We just got to that point as the temple/cathedral have slots. We just didn't generate any for the temple.
Everything is RAW, I was ignoring the items to not tempt myself. We can use them lets just keep ourselves in check. :)
Quince Medvyed
Yeah I'm at work too.
We can have both towns. Olegs Outpost is already Fort Like though so that was why I suggested it. Our next Town can be Bandit's Folly.
Sure but if we went with Bandit's Folly it would just be a name. Where as Oleg's is where bandits were foolish enough to try to defy the Wardens and the most strident were executed. So its not this is a cool name we could use its a cool name that describes the history of the place. I suppose the river crossing that was the north bandit camp could be "Bandit's Folly" someday but it feels like remembering your second kiss.
That said I am all for Fort Promise for Oleg's. Its more hopeful and less a dark remembrance of execution.

Ha! Cleonora is temptation incarna- wait that makes her sound like some kind of succubus... My point is this! I don't plan to abuse the magical item system from this. Upon that I promise. Really just having access to Cleonora as a crafter for the party would run the same risk since she could make things at half price so long as she's the right level for it. The money she'd make from the crafting if magical items would be more likely to be poured back into the settlement than just into her own coin purse. Not to mention the discount she'd be giving to those of the town guard and military, which would be the biggest spenders for her. That and adventurers passing through.
I'll totally take over the management of magical item slots. I've done it before and resisted the temptation! XD

Which is fine and understandable! I'd be more worried if he wasn't cautious.

I'm fine with that, I don't know if working at the Academy would make her a member of the council but it would be a step closer.
Tristan Morgan
Well Sota is just a player that left the game so I put you in as Magister. Sota is a pixie or whatever fey creature so fickle enough to just wander away. I put you as magister on the kingdom sheet for month 13.
We need to find a treasurer.
GM Wolf
Sorry for my absence. It appears I have missed a lot.
First, great RP all!
Second, I think you are both thinking basically the same thing just from different perspectives. No worries we will wrinkle it all out and just let it be. :)
Third, all soooo much OOC, is likely best to be put here rather than gameplay. Its okay just messes with some people's mood, like mine.
[ooc] I was also thinking we would burn this month here in town. I can do up Turn 13. I will leave Sota in place but put Selena in the Treasurer role as she asked what she can do to help. We can take Cleo out to do a bounty and test her teamwork and get to know her. At the start of month 14 when the Academy is done she can decide then if she wants to be Magister.
I agree we should probably burn this month so turn 13 can be done.
To put an NPC into a role that they are hesitant about requires a diplomacy check. Also there are certain situations that likely need to RPed for this burn month before changing hats/roles.I would also do as Cleo suggested, give her at least two months as headmistress of the academy before making her magister.
I know OOC we want her to be part of the game and have a leadership role, but as much as I know of her character we should let it take time. Am I wrong Cleo?
GM Wolf
On a different note: I am not sure what to do in gameplay at this moment.
Should I have the gaggle of girls enter... having lost track of time. This being Larina, Katrina, Svetlana and Selena.
Or move to instances that happen this month?
Instances:
Slave collar
Diplomacy check to get Selena as Treasurer
Gregori 4 moire speeches
The Founding of Tatzlford
next month:
Troll Sightings (continuous): Rumors of troll sightings
in the south grow, causing a slow panic to build throughout
the nation. If the PCs make a successful Loyalty check, the
rumors cause no harm—otherwise, the nation gains 2
points of Unrest per Event phase that the rumors continue.
Slaying the trolls (see Part Six) brings this event to an end.
Cult - recovered items:
a glittering gem that looks like a glaring bloodshot eye:
10 symbols of a bloodshot eye
mwk dagger
hag’s shabble, 36 gp, symbol of Gyronna,
GM Wolf
Obviously still catching up!
Fort Promise I like even more!
OOOH! That is good: 2- Or the Town of Fort Promise (Which I would suggest Svetlana name it that). Some local NPC tavern keeper can open a one day famous tavern called Bandit's Folly (his signpost is set at the base of the execution stump for the few bandits so many literal years ago).
Yes, Tristan is our Warden of the game as well as the Warden of the kingdom! LOL! But soooo true!
Oh! We have a succubus!!! XD
Sota and Jhod are fine for now. As we truely find someone to take the position then it can happen.
Also the Roll for Month 13 is not needed, I got something in the works!!!
Cleonora Petalouda
I would also do as Cleo suggested, give her at least two months as headmistress of the academy before making her magister.
I know OOC we want her to be part of the game and have a leadership role, but as much as I know of her character we should let it take time. Am I wrong Cleo?
*Nods greatly in agreement with Wolf*
Not only should Cleo have to earn the trust of the characters, but the characters have to earn Cleo's trust. You really want to make that connection. Which you all have formed over a longer time and many combats you've all faced together. Cleo doesn't have that time or experience with any of you, and of course taking her with you on a bounty will help. Though don't be surprised if she's a bit more reserved. Being alone out in the wilds with three guys she knows very little about... That'd make anyone nervous.
But yes, time is the only thing that will build what you need. Cleo is more willing to accept the Headmistress position because it isn't a high position of power in the grand scheme of things. She could, if she needed, cut and run with less harm to the settlement. Her main goal was to work in the shadows, few would remember a shop keeper even if it was a magic shop. But everyone will know who the Headmistress of the Academy is by at least name. That said, she can't outright rejected it with out it raising a bit of attention. So she's caught between a road and a hard place. It's not the worst predicament by far! But it is a predicament to her. Not to mention they will see a totally different side to Cleo when she is in battle. Ruthlessly efficient is a good description...
Quince Medvyed
Sorry about the excessive ooc. I was attempting to make my rp more clear as it directly related to the action.
Quince Medvyed
So the items confirm it was a cult to Gyronna?
Quince Medvyed

Cleonora Petalouda
I've no idea what to have Cleo do for a month...
Quince Medvyed
Sorry 4th BBQ & today was session 0 for my Tyranny of Dragons campaign.
Tristan Morgan
Great. I will do the turn for month 13. I won't roll for an event. In Gameplay I believe we need to take care of Gregory and do some bounties.
I believe we are still in book 2?
Quince Medvyed
I haven't played through the AP before but I have considered running it. But so far I think we are still very much in book 2.
Kevros Droverson
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Ok, I am think I am good now, time to catch up with the plethora of posts.
Quince Medvyed
Kevros Droverson
So are we decided on the names?
Erastilhold and Fort Promise? And a future Tavern named, Bandit's Folly?
Yes please, Kev wants a Garrison.
Quince Medvyed
I think if that's your vote Kev that clinches it.
Oleg's is Fort Promise (Which I think Svetlana needs to bring up in character if the GM allows it should come from her. Otherwise I think all the Wardens would want the deceased Oleg honored. So it should be his widow so that it still feels like we are honoring them.
I think Erastilhold whether its the 3rd city or not we should just assume will oneday be at the current ruined Temple of the Elk.
Kevros Droverson
Almost caught up (reading through the last page(s)), need to figure out where Kev is during the time I took a break;
1. Taking care of Garrison matters?
2. With the Wardens but just quiet and processing everything?
3. Or doing something else?
4. Need to catch up with Cleo Two-Days before Prelude.
Cleonora Petalouda
Would anyone be opposed to Cleo coming in on this? I remember a question that I forgot to have her ask and was just gonna put it off for later... but then I got an idea for reading all this... and it would give you all another look at Cleo's character. A different side of her character.
Edit:Actually for Lycanthropes their alignment depends upon if they are nature or afflicted, because for an afflicted their true alignment is different than there shape-changed alignment. Also Quince you rolled the wrong knowledges. Lycanthropes are knowledge Local. Because they still hold to the original form. I.E. Elf, human, dwarf, etc.

That would best be answered by Wolf. But I don't see a problem with it.

That would change my bonus to +3.
Cleonora Petalouda
Also just so you all know, Cleo's spell book has Charm person! She will never prepare it unless one of you specifically requests her to.
Kevros Droverson
Is the Garrison going to be built this round and does that cover a training area or will that be separate? Or is it planned for the future?
I am asking this to see if this is one way, I can re-enter the conversation gracefully.
Cleonora Petalouda
I believe the Academy is being built this round. If what we spoke of earlier is anything to go by.
Also, if you want something to help get you back into the story you could run into Cleo on her way back to them! If Wolf lets me jump in! XD
Cleonora Petalouda
Gonna be poor Selena if she sets Cleo off. But hey we can get there when we get there!
Tristan Morgan
Yep Academy this round/turn. But we do have the Arean if you want to be training there.
Quince Medvyed
Play with it as you wish, really it just makes you into her that much more. I know I am not explaining it well and can't find all my stats for it. Just have fun with it if you fail.
Oh yes when this happens she has too much fun with it!
I don't know what spell she cast just that she was acting sensual. And Stalker also was leering at her and acting randy. So I interpreted feelings as intense desire rather than just a charm person even if that is what spell was cast.
Cleonora Petalouda
My guess is charm person. Going off of the DC, however the fact it is a mass spell which is worrying. Can't find anything on her sheet that would suggest what this is, though that isn't saying much because we're players and as such not entitled to everything! XD
However in the end it is an enchantment, which is why I called it such further down.
Quince Medvyed
Poor Quince. He such a puritan normally. This is going to wreck him. He keeps getting caught up with women who aren't the settle down with family types.
Wolf we found a few statues and stones in our travels. Is Selena's mention of a monolith ringing any bells.
Cleonora Petalouda
Yeah poor Quince. Cleo here just ready to rip Selena's throat out, but had to peaceful talk down Quince. Which is funny because she has no attachment to them yet. It is just the right thing to do... Also f#*$ those who use magic to mess with other's minds. Few things piss Cleo off more.
GM Wolf

There are no visual or auditory clues that a spell was cast. I will have to find the specific spell.
Yes it is an enchantment. I have it in the original game she was in.
It could be some of the large stones you have seen but you would want to ask her more about it to be sure.
Tristan Morgan
Yeah I assumed it wasn't magic. Just Wolf making us roll to see if we were interested in her skills let's say :)
Cleonora Petalouda
But Wolf just said it was a spell. And if you succeed against a spell, you actually know it was cast against you. You may not know what spell it was, but you know the spell was cast.
Quince Medvyed
Yeah I assumed it wasn't magic. Just Wolf making us roll to see if we were interested in her skills let's say :)
LOL
I that would be a diplomacy. But saving throw usually means compulsion.
Cleonora Petalouda
Yeah that would be a diplomacy! XD
Anything that requires a save, especially a Will save, that is a compulsion effect such as this one, would be hard to tell you're under when you fail, but you'd know the moment you saved that something wasn't right. If it was passive, i.e. the GM rolled it or you take 10 plus the mod, then it wouldn't be as obvious. But if you have to actively, i.e. roll it yourself, you know something tried to get into your head. You just don't know what unless you know magic, or can roll spellcraft.
GM Wolf
I have looked through spells A to H so far and I think I will go with:
Enticing Adulation though you are not compelled to attack but if you do you gain the rage bonus.
So yes Tristan would know a spell went over him.
Quince Medvyed
Who cares what spell. It was a spell or spell like event that made everyone who failed wanna mix it up.
Cleonora Petalouda
Well knowing the spell is important. Saves and what not.
Quince Medvyed
Right. He told us what to roll we rolled it and there was a result. The fact that the GM is arbitrating it is all I need. It might be handy but it happened. He gave a DC we rolled some passed some didn't.
Cleonora Petalouda
Right but some people get bonuses depending on the types of spells. A bonus against enchantment spells is actually one of the most common. Followed by mind-effecting spells.
