Ok guys,
Was just not having any fun or luck trying to crunch down that inquisitor character. I always felt like I was fighting my build the whole time, and nothing fit.
Although, after doing some looking and some checking, I decided to take the same concept with the herald caller template for cleric instead.
Have a shell of a build up right now on the alias for the changes. Mainly she is going to be in light armor instead of medium, cleric class vs inquisitor. the one feat I am not set on yet, I may move that back to 7th level, and instead go with deadly aim or something else along those lines, or maybe even rapid shot.
The template gives me augment and superior summons later, so I am rather happy with that all things considered. Still have the animal with boon at 5, so will have the animal, no spell like summons, but can convert any spell to either cure or summon spell, which is very nice.
Honestly, she's going to look about the same and act the same, just going to change the mechanics and some of her abilities from the inquisitor form.

ok, here we go....
*a long time later*
Ok, I can't do this during work. Too many characters and things I need to focus on.
We need another meat shield and probably a skilled character. Some gish character that can fill in magical and martial holes would be good to round things out.

+1 to all of this.
A bit more specific, the bloodrager and the cavalier are the only two characters that I could see that I could even qualify as potential meat shields.
Bloodrager would also give us a hybrid backup arcane, which would open us up for a skill oriented character and then a divine gish maybe? Someone that could both heal and fight? Yes I am a full cleric, but if I am doing what I intend to do, i'm most likely going to be doing the build an army thing. Also keep in mind at by 5, we add another melee muncher in my animal.
Also means i probably need to sink 750 into a proper healing wand.

Kingmaker Devon |

Okay. I have Ronza's notes in hand and some other stuff I have gotten via PM so I think I am on my way to figuring this out. I need to poke around as I stated a desire for at least a couple slots to be taken by folks with a solid history on the boards, etc.
If you two think you have told me everything you are primarily concerned with I can take what I have and make a call. Just hit me up one way or another and let me know you are ready otherwise I will wait until the deadline to give you time to look closer.

Cuddles |

I think you have my basic thoughts. That rogue/wiz thing seems like a lot of moving parts to me, but I haven't really learned the Variant multiclassing. I don't have much more to offer, really. I've been just too busy to really look over the entries.
I do agree with your desire to bring in some more experienced players.

Aleria EagleEye |

I think I can get behind cuddles on this one in terms of the VM character.
That being said, I agree that some more experienced players that also fall into what we are needing role wise. I'm not enough of a melee person to know exactly what the magic number of mix it up types it takes to make a group successful.
I'm also terrible at forums, so looking up post history and frequency are not my strong suits.
A list from my head based on who has applied and who I think would fit well:
The bloodrager, the cavalier/bard, the pure rogue, the hunter, zen archer, and the ranger.
We are kind of moderately heavy on support types, so a full support character I think wouldn't be a good fit, so i'd nix the bard. Something with PFS lately has just rubbed me the wrong way on knife master rogues. They lose trapfinding, and most KM rogues tend to just ignore anything but combat, and its cost characters recently in groups. Personal trauma.
That would be my short list, but then again i'm much less adept in my GM fu than you guys. So just take it as my opinion. :P

Ra'hl Rogarvia |

I thank you all for the kind words and thanks to the GM for the selection.
Hello everyone.
My first question is how you're planning to have us join the active group.

Aleria EagleEye |

That's easy, its breakfast time at Svetlana's.
I think we all just got up and were talking at the table while Svetlana was setting out a spread.
I'll be around a good portion of the evening if you want to do some IC chat around the table.

Duška Umírajícíkrev |

Hi to all, faces familiar and new :)
Echoing Ra'hl's sentiments - I'm pretty honoured to have been picked, know it can't have been easy as we have potentially plenty of overlap.
Looking forward to getting going - I'm in Scotland (GMT+1) so will be about to sign off for the night, will pick things up tomorrow at work.
Thanks again for the selection, and well done to my fellow newbies - some very cool and strong characters pitched.
Cheers

Natasha Medvyed |

Well, here I am.
There were so many applications, I didn't really expect to get picked :D
Thankfully Natasha's Kingmaking won't stay in the dark limbo she was hanging in for almost two years.
I didn't see her as a tank when building the character, but a good commander will have to go into the thick of battle huh?
(She won't have much magic, but can use bard wands and has UMD, so there is some backup caster potential)
Gonna check the IC thread later ;)

Aleria EagleEye |

No worries, they send out the highly diplomatic cleric of Erastil as the welcoming committee. hide your apples and hats.

Actually it would be helpful if everyone (new and old) can remind me what time zone they are in. It just helps goose me to post at times that are more accessible for the majority.
As for the issue of "joining the group" assume you came in with Osk here
As I say in the post its a bit ugly but it gets us on our way.
I will probably keep Osk around in the background as sometimes a mouthpiece from Restov might be helpful. He might dovetail with some of my proposals as far as how to mitigate some of the clunkier parts of the AP down the road but we can cross that bridge when we get there.
Edit:
@ Duska (sorry I will probably never manage to insert the symbols but I respect how it is spelled in my head I promise.) Given the composition I will leave it to you to decide to stay on bow or back to sword. There would be enough downtime you could even retrain at some point once the monster summoning and wizard machinations come on line...

Aleria EagleEye |

CST Master race!
:P
who am I kidding, i'm an hour away from being cool.

Aleria EagleEye |

See, that is the problem with left coast peoples. Everything is so two hours ago!
You guys need to catch up. Then we could all live happy together.

Mattrim Messana |

Hi everyone!
Not to be a broken record but thanks for picking me, I'm pretty excited.
I've got some housework to do over the next couple of hours but I'll be active again after that.
Cheers
p.s. Shoutout to CST ^_^

Full disclosure for all that are joining:
I was the GM of this game to start, and basically between hospital stays, massive stress increase at work, and general lack of creativity, I sort of let the game spiral down into oblivion.
Devon was kind enough to offer to run and let me stay on, and I can say at least for my part that it is a giant weight off my shoulders. I have gotten so used to the PFS Gming style over the table that I am finding it harder to be creative and adapt to things.
Long story short, he offered to put us in a better place to get the game rolling, and I'm feeling a lot more energy and desire to play.

Welcome newbies! On-screen, I'm the party's sickly, 9-con wizard who buffs the meat shields and controls the battlefield. Off-screen, I'm Ronnie, a 24-year-old Aussie teacher's aide who's into cross-stitch, tabletop, heavy metal, and trivia games. I'm at GMT +9:30, and I juggle work, PFS, a module game, and a quiz night, so it's a bloody wonder I manage to post at all!

Since Natasha had a fair share of the stolen lands with her last exploration group, and it would feel kinda strange to pretend she doesn't know Oleg and Svetlana, I would propose to make her adventuring party one that was active a few months prior of this one.

Natasha Medvyed |

:D
Good to hear that Devon volunteered to take over. I know how GM burnout can grind creativity and fun to a halt. Hope you have lots of fun as a player now :)
Introducing Natasha, the freshly shellshocked ex-leader of a failed expedition into the stolen lands. Hopefully she can spur her new companions to the same heights she did for those who now are only memories.
Played her in an off-screen Kingmaker game that went about as far as this one before dying thanks to GM burnout and dissatisfaction with increasing powergaming. Happy to pick up her trusty lance again!

Ra'hl Rogarvia |

I typically do, I clicked off the page mid post to double check my character sheet. When I clicked back it reloaded the page and ate my post. (I was posting from my phone.)

Kingmaker Devon |

The boards and I remain locked in an epic struggle over deleted posts. I win more battles than I used to but occasionally its blade bites deep even now...or something ;P
I'm going to work with Natasha a bit on how much is known or not known about her expedition. So we will hammer that out.
With a broad spread from Germany to Australia I might be ideally placed in so much that I am posting at strange times for all of you! Hooray. My major posting volume is Mon-Fri 9am-5pm -8 GMT but I will try to hop on as I can. I tend to stay up late, try to post on the move and in general try to communicate as best I can when I am having challenges.
Life happens, that is fine, just let me know as best you can if you are in a place where posting will be hard (whatever the reason may be). A simple post here or PM is all I am looking for.
My general policy is to post daily on the weekdays, as I can on the weekends. I will try to stall that if I think player reactions are critical otherwise I will assume characters are on "auto-pilot" and will simply follow the group and go with whatever active players are saying. I will probably be pretty aggressive about this at first because I want to get the game moving.
I imagine Ra'hl, Natasha and Duska would basically show up together. Mattrim has a hook that means it could work either way to have him meet up on the road with the others or wander in around the same time from the wild...
Oh and yes I slung shot the game forward quite a bit mostly to skip the more tedious exploration bits and get the machine moving. Now with more victims! I mean...bodies...I mean...explorers?

Aleria EagleEye |

If there is one decision I pride myself on in this campaign, it is to have Cuddles along.
I have been having a mostly crappy day, and I am laughing my ass off right now.

Duška Umírajícíkrev |

(Waves back to El Ronza/Anton)
@Devon - no worries on the intonations on the name :) Nae sure on if I'll stick with the bow or go melee... Do the group have a preference/pressing need either way?
Did a bit of musing on Duška's background last night (was restlessly up at 02:00ish - being in the midst of Scotland's 3 days of Summer I had cup o' tea, stood outside and watched bonnie meteor shower :) and did some thinking...
Crux of her background
Travels with mother until of age
Seeks out "bandit life" like gentleman outlaw father
Finds that bandits are (in the main) bad bastardos, and that banditry are less than stellar career choice.
Falls in with a group of "wrong-uns" - The Shallow Graven
Makes friends with one fellow bandit (becomes "spiritual mentor") - an Elven Druid (or Shaman) - introduces her to Ketephys - a faith she now follows.
Her bandit band are felled/caught and as a "non" bastardo bandit she is offered the penitent option of oppressing banditry in the Greenbelt...
Hope that would kinda fit with how she came to accompany the other "newbies"?
(oh and I'll also have purchased a horse prior to arriving :)

Aleria EagleEye |

D'oh! Ninja'ed by GM.
Oleg can take the horse, but she still goes up to introduce herself.

Aleria EagleEye |

Hope you guys don't mind the flurry of poasts. I'm still developing Aleria's personality and her quirks, and the interaction at the Trading post helps me with developing her more. Getting her fleshed out into a human being, rather than just a character trope or stereotype.

Duška Umírajícíkrev |

Ditto on Duška. Still finding my feet with her also.
Enjoying the posts, but its slumber time here in Bonnie Scotland, so I'll pick this one up on the morrow.
Night all :)

Aleria EagleEye |

Wow Aleria just going all in on Ra'hl. Do I have to get Cuddles to squeeze you both?

Anton Marakov |

Cuddles always amuses me. Always. GM, I've finally gotten around to updating and expanding Anton's backstory. I like to think I've put some good hooks in there, and fleshed him out a bit more. And I swear I wrote this before Angel decided on a summons-focused character! :P
Also, bloody hell, you guys. No way I can jump into the thick of all that. :P

I know right? Quite enthusiastic.
I will look over Anton's stuff and see how else I can torment you. I also just remembered, to remind you, Cuddles and Aleria to make sure that you are geared at WBL. We had discussed scroll making and I want to make sure you aren't shorted in what you should be carrying around.

Anton Marakov |

D'oh! Yes, I need to do that >.> I'm getting ready for work now, but hopefully tonight I can get that done. You decided there was no chance of scribing from scrolls or spellbooks, right? Leaving me with just my spells learned from progression?
