Sorry, guys, I did say immediate reactions only. That basically meant everybody gets to react, and then things happen. Eben drew his rod. Nobody else got any buffs or the like off (since they only decided to do those after bantering about adult entertainment and mooning a scrying sensor).
Just as Rodrigo is finishing pulling his pants up and Carina is reaching for an extract, the sensor winks out. An electric hum fills the air.
Two figures pop into existence. From the tips of their lashing tails to the serrated features of its fang-filled visage, the foul, fiery-eyed fiends bristle with sharp barbs. They hiss at the party, shouting in a harsh, frightening tongue Carina recognizes instantly. "Jetzt!"
Infernal: "Now!"
The party as one senses that these are not the only new arrivals to the scene. There is a rustling in the branches of the tree north of Rodrigo, a stirring in the grass around the two devilish forms, and Eben personally can feel warm breath on his shoulder coming directly south of him.

Round 1: Clunk

Round 1: Invisibles
Five hideous creatures pop into existence. Merging the most horrifying features of carrion-fed insect and withered cadaver, these bony monsters move in unsettling lurches. One of them is lurking up in the tree, its tail wrapped around the trunk for support. The rest are flying roughly ten feet off the ground, hovering more by magical aid than the whirring of their insectile wings.
They raise their long skeleton claws and point—one at Rodrigo, one at Tanith, one at Carina, one at Astraden, and one at Eben. Farrukh is momentarily ignored.
At that precise moment, Clunk reappears, sending spectral chains flying towards the devil next to Eben. Clunk's target freezes up and starts to drift in the air, slowly sinking back down to the ground. It is totally paralyzed. Clunk gives an amalgamation of a grin, averaged out between the six partymembers—a bit of Tanith's signature smirk, a bit of Astraden's ghoulish grin, and a lot of Uncanny Valley.
The other four, however, all loose green bolts of energy at their targets. And they hit! Eben, Carina, Rodrigo, and Tanith are all immersed in green glows for a moment. It seems to have no obvious effect, but they feel oddly heavier than they did a moment ago, like someone who's eaten a bit too much too fast. Spellcraft or Knowledge (arcana) applies.

"Hey, thanks Clunk!"
Dungeon Kobold |
These are barbed devils—proper name "hamatula". They are very hard to injure without good weapons, and can be tremendously deadly when grappling foes due to their sharp prickles. They are immune to fire.
Also, the spell-like ability they used on everyone but Farrukh and Eben was dimensional anchor.
Round 1: Porcudevils
Both the devils activate magical effects, and the group feels twin energies of pure law and pure evil settle upon them at once.
Everyone who isn't lawful, make two Will saves. Everyone who is lawful, make one. Pretty sure nobody here is evil, so I won't ask about that.
If you rolled less than 18 on the second save and are chaotic, you take 5d8 ⇒ (5, 2, 2, 8, 6) = 23 damage and are Dazed for 1 round. If you rolled above, you halve that damage and are not Dazed. If you are ethically neutral, you take half the damage (so, 4) and cannot be dazed. Carina calculates her damage halving in this order: 23/2=11 (ethically neutral), 11/2=5 (made her save), Tanith then takes either 3 or 2 damage.
Lawful characters are unaffected by the latter effect and did not need to roll.
"Attention, mortals!" barks one of the bristly baatezu. "This is an organized raid by order of Archgovernor Visciannix! Relinquish stolen properties, i.e. the fragment of well-known artifact Rod of Law, or be prepared to face lethal prosecution!"
"We have a warrant for its immediate securement," adds the other prickly planejumper. "You are violating the rights of a law-abiding citizen of Hell, and, by extension, from Hell itself, and, by extension, all of creation itself. The penalties are, as you can imagine, severe."

Eben MacTeague |
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Rodrigo Dantares |

Will Save 2 (Shield Other): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 = 21
Carina, however, weathers both assaults with Tanith's spell helping her. Part of her resistance may have stemmed from being in a bad mood already.
Round 1: Actions
Full-Round Action: Throw Force Bombs at devil in the tree!
The undine just rolls her eyes. "Oh, lovely. Now we know who to send your heads back to."
She yanks several bombs from her belt and starts throwing them at the devil in the tree above her.
Ranged Touch Attack (PBS, Precise): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

Damage? (PBS): 5d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 4, 1) + 3 + 1 = 17
If any bombs hit, the devil must make a DC 17 Reflex Save or get knocked prone.

Force bombs are the alchemist's Knowledge check. "What is it? Screw it, this'll work."
*Googles: "pfsrd monsters immune to force"*

The devil dances with the grace of the southern owlgazelle, easily maintaining its foothold. The bombs themselves, however, do take their toll. It grimaces.
Astraden and Tanith are up! My, that went fast.
Farrukh Al-Khatel |
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Farrukh feels a slight tingle in his extremities.

Will: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Action Point: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5
Tanith temporarily goes cross eyed as the fiend's awful magic works to turn his mighty muscular form into something less swole and more... orderly.
4 + 2 + 9 + 11 = 26
Coming back to the his senses, the big man chants a quick prayer turning his skin to iron and a second longer prayer calling on the Brawler's might to bolster himself and his friends.
Fervored Iron Skin and Channel: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6) = 14
I don't feel like spending an AP to get selective channel so I'll have to undo some of Carina's work. =(
"You don't honestly think any of that makes any sense?" he demands from his accusers. "We're violating the rights of all of reality?"
Dungeon Kobold |
"It doesn't have to make sense," one of the barbed devils says crisply. "It's the law."

"It is not our responsibility to educate violent criminals."
Astraden is up.

[65/80]
KC, wasn't Eben affected by the anchor, while I wasn't? Or did you typo in the first combat post?
Did it seem like the devils were able to see past Rodrigo's invisibility? Guess it'd be a Knowledge (arcana) check to identify.
Astraden is slightly slowed by the devils' aura of rigor, but the damage is almost entirely healed by Tanith's blessing.
[79/80]
She points to the barbed devils. "Hamatula! Don't grapple them or use fire, and use good weapons! And don't teleport!"
She looks at Carina, gauging the alchemist's reserves of strength. "Sorry!" Astraden raises a fist and brings it down powerfully through the air, screaming gibberish. Sound and light explode into the air between the airborne bone devils, assaulting their very being with bits of song lyrics, hearty laughter, and a variegated violet color. Eben, Tanith, and Rodrigo are unharmed by the brief glimpse of chaos, but Carina finds the color garish and the sounds unpleasant.
CHAOS HAMMER: 10d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 1, 4, 6, 3, 6, 3, 1) = 38 DC 17 Will to halve or be slowed for 1d6 ⇒ 6 rounds. It's centered 10 feet off the ground but I think it catches both of the hamatula and the held bone devil.
Chaos hammer on Carina :(: 5d8 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 6, 5) = 19 Carina takes 9 damage or 4 on a successful save (before halving to Tanith).
SRs clockwise from top: 7d20 ⇒ (15, 18, 18, 4, 5, 19, 8) = 87 I've labeled the SR results on the map.
As the violet light fades, Astraden steps around Eben, strapping on her shield.
Round 1: Cast chaos hammer (standard action), five-foot step (no action), and equip shield (move action). Chaos hammer lasts 6 rounds.
Farrukh Al-Khatel |
"It is not our responsibility to educate violent criminals."
"Well here, let me come over and we can figure it out by trial and error."
Farrukh moves over to whichever one spoke.
It's unclear on the map, but I'm fast enough to make it to either of the non-bony ones.
"Is it written here?" he says, and swings his shield.
Bash: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33
Damage: 1d6 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Dungeon Kobold |
Yes, Astraden was unaffected. My mistake.
Astraden's powerful spell washes off of the paralyzed skeletal fiend and the southern barbed devil. The rest, on the other hand, are not so fortunate. All but one of the bone devils doubles over as the sound and light of pure chaos rip through their lawful beings. The barbed devil, too, seems badly affected. Nearby, Clunk reaches up and rubs its head, looking disconcerted.
Farrukh rushes under the bone devils to reach the injured hamatula, striking it in the belly. It winces, but he feels the barbs on its body puncturing through the steel of his klar shield in several places, cutting deep into his own flesh. And just as Astraden indicates, his attack is roughly halved in effectiveness against the devil.
Hit, but Farrukh takes 7 damage.
Barbs: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Round 2: Clunk
"I question your jurisdiction," the kolyarut says, advancing and gripping the paralyzed bone devil by the neck. It attempts to sever the creature's head.
Coup de Grace: 2d10 + 16 ⇒ (9, 9) + 16 = 34
Fort Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
The skull-like head falls to the ground. The rest of the body promptly follows suit. "We are quite far from what you call Baator," Clunk continues, sounding highly skeptical.
Round 2: Devils
"Actually, technically speaking..." one of the bone devils says in slow motion, clicking its fingers together. A thirty-foot long, ten-foot tall wall of solid ice pops into existence with a ping sound.
"...The entire Material Plane, by official legislation..." another devil goes on, also very slowly, and also clicking its fingers together. Another thirty-five-foot long, ten-foot tall wall of ice appears, this one directly between Rodrigo and the rest of the party. Rodrigo is quartered off.
"...is legally classified as a small peninsula off the coast of a small, pleasant island in the Second Layer," finishes the third, who was not slowed down at all. Its fingers click together. A third wall of ice, this one twenty-five feet long, pings into reality directly between Carina and Tanith.
The fourth taps its fingers. A final twenty-five foot long wall forms to separate Astraden, Carina and Clunk from the rest of the party. "Peculiar legislation, but what can you do?"
Meanwhile, the slowed barbed devil waves a hand in front of Farrukh's eyes. "Apologies," it says in a pleasant tone of voice. "Please hold."
Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Farrukh, make a Will save, DC 17, or be paralyzed for up to twelve rounds. If you fail, you may attempt a new save every round on your turn to end the effect. That would be a full-round action.
The un-slowed barbed devil, on the other hand, edges around the fight and lets loose another blast of lawful energy at Astraden and Eben.
Astraden and Eben, make Will saves, DC 18. If you fail, you take 5d8 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 1, 4) = 12 damage and are Dazed for one round. Wow, what a bad roll. If you save, you take half damage.
WALL INFO:
These walls are all exactly ten feet up and twelve inches thick. Each 10-foot square of wall has 36 HP. A section of wall whose hit points drop to 0 is breached. You can also try to bust through the wall with a single Strength check, though it will be quite difficult. Fire can potentially melt them as well. Tree squares do not obstruct movement.
Round 2: You are up!
Farrukh Al-Khatel |
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
"Nope, sorry. But clearly that wasn't it. How about here?"
He flashes his scimitar.
Slash: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24

"Or here?"
Bash: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20

Astraden focuses on the nearest hamatula, making a sign of warding with her free hand. "Tsurikkumen tsu heym," she intones.

Or if the spell is a success, she moves up to the end of the wall.
Round 2: Cast dismissal (standard action), movement (move action), and draw weapon as part of movement (free action). Chaos hammer lasts 5 rounds.
Dungeon Kobold |
Astraden's spell fizzles as it comes into contact with the devil's form. It crosses its arms, unimpressed.
You were again unable to beat the creature's SR.
Oh, also, Farrukh took 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 damage when he hit the barbed devil.[dice]
Astraden Limhaare |
"Also, Carina - think they've got magic for seeing through illusions?"
Wondering if Carina can Knowledge (arcana) to see if the devils have true seeing or if they see invisibility some other way. Would be good to know if Eben and I should bother with mirroring ourselves.
Eben MacTeague |
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Oh, for Pete's sake. I'm the one that could tell something bad was coming! I reacted! I had a plan and everything!
Eben continues reeling back and forth under the infernal assault of the hamatulas, his metamagic rod clutched uselessly in one hand.
Dungeon Kobold |

You did! And perhaps you can imagine that they saw this and, reasoning you were the greatest threat, now endeavor to eliminate you from the fight early!
Or you're just rolling crap. Either way.
Tanith and Carina are up.
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |
Finding himself out of reach, Tanith readies his poleaxe. He calls on Kord's might to bless the weapon and levels it at the nearest airborne devil.
Draw weapon. Fervored divine favor. Blessing to buff weapon.
Carina Viera |
"Sorry!"
"Wait, wha--?"
And then Astraden's spell hits her.
Will Save (Shield Other): 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 = 23
"OW!" Carina is almost caught unaware by Astraden's chaos-born spell, and then a series of ice walls spring up on either side of her.
Round 2: Actions
Full-Round Action: Attempt to dispel the ice walls on either side of me with Dispelling Bombs!
A glowering Carina groans in exasperation as she plucks a pair of anti-magic bombs from her belt and throws them at the walls on either side of her.

Dungeon Kobold |
Carina's bomb deletes the wall between herself and Tanith, but the wall blocking off Astraden and Eben remains resolutely in place.
Round 3: Clunk
Clunk turns to the nearby barbed devil. "You should teleport away," it says, "before you are destroyed."
Clunk then turns invisible again.
Vs. SR: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
Will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Round 3: Devils
The hamatula rolls its eyes. "Inevitables."
The bone devils begin to blink out of sight, turning invisible again. The party feels and hears great forms swooping down nearby. Rodrigo feels powerful wingbeats quite nearby him, and Astraden and Eben both sense the presence of a massive body behind them.
Dread begins to fill those nearby the demons. It festers and boils until it threatens to transform into all-out terror.
Farrukh and Carina both get substantially more evident proof as the devils reappear and attack. Farrukh is raked and bitten, and both he and Carina are stung in the back by the monsters' scorpion-like tails.
Carina takes 13 damage (not counting shield other). Farrukh takes 31 damage, or 25 if his current AC is higher than 30.
Both Carina and Farrukh, make Fortitude saves vs. poison.
Everybody, make a Will save vs. the fear aura. Rodrigo must make two.
The barbed devils both grimace. "Relinquish the item," repeats the one fighting Farrukh. "Or just hold still."
Make another Will save, Farrukh, DC 17, or be paralyzed, as before.
The non-slowed barbed devil grimaces. It raises its hand and fires off two rays of fire at Astraden. The second bolt catches her right upside the head, searing into her neck. The smell of burning half-orc flesh fills the air.
Astraden takes 48 fire damage.
Sting @ Carina (FF): 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 14 + 2 + 1 = 31

Oh Dear: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25 Crit Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 6) = 10
All visible devils are 5' off the ground. Astraden and Eben actively believe themselves to be threatened from their western sides (on the ground), though they can't see anything there.
Round 3: You are up!
Rodrigo Dantares |
Will saves: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 231d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Rodrigo goes to cast a spell, and suddenly is completely overcome with terror. He flies straight up as fast as he can.
Dungeon Kobold |
I'm starting to feel really bad about making Rodrigo make saves against things. He just seems to defy the laws of probability.
Eben MacTeague |
Finally, Eben snaps out of the insensible state the hamatulas magic had placed him in, only to feel the swell of terror surrounding him on both sides as well.
Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
FINALLY.
He manages to shrug off the worst of it. "Y-you call that fear? Let m-me show you fear..." And he gleefully begins to describe from experience the many, many ways one can break the law and get away with it.
Dirge of Doom.
Meanwhile, he cautiously casts a spell, trying to avoid the invisible beings he can sense nearby.
Casting mirror image on the defensive.
Casting Defensively, DC 19: 1d20 + 15 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 15 - 2 = 14
Unfortunately, his caution (and trembling fear) causes him to gesture incorrectly and the entire illusion comes grinding to a halt before he can get it up and running. There's a split second where he looks like he might have a couple of noses, but that's it. He throws some creative cursing into his litany of chaos without breaking the flow of words. Still, with a snap of his wrist and the faint sound of humming glass, he tries for another spell.
Casting quickened haste on the defensive. Line of effect issues means it only gets me, Astraden, Rodrigo & Clunk.
Casting Defensively, DC 21: 1d20 + 15 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 15 - 2 = 21
This one he gets off with relative ease. He gives a little dance in celebration. A dance with a certain number of steps to it.
Beginning Dirge of Doom as a move action, casting (and failing) mirror image as a standard action, casting haste as a swift action, activating Dance of 23 Steps as a free action.
Haste lasts 9 rounds.
AC is 25/18/18 with haste & dance of 23 steps active.
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |
Will: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
I don't suppose Tanith acts before Rodrigo? I'd like to be able to hit him with a remove fear and save his actions for this turn.
Dungeon Kobold |
Technically speaking, he beat you in Initiative. You can spend an Action Point to respond quickly enough—it'll be his actions for the next five turns, bear in mind, not just this one (he'll be well out of reach of your spell next round).
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |
Alrighty. AP spent.
Seeing the near-panic in Rodrigo's eyes, Tanith mutters another prayer. "Take heart! Hell's s*~!-rakers are ugly but they can't stop us!"
Targeting Rodrigo and anyone else in range that might fail (up to three targets). Also, keep in mind some might be in range for Astraden's shield.
Cast Remove Fear. Start combat stance.
Rodrigo Dantares |
Can't get the map to load right now, so here's my best attempt.
Rodrigo thanks the gods silently for Tanith's spell, and casts his own. He is careful to do it such as a way as to not expose himself to harm.
Fly check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Cast defensively: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Hasting everyone.
Eben MacTeague |
Rodrigo's haste spell hits Eben just as he's casting haste of his own. Fortunately the haste effect actually sharpens his reflexes enough so that he just manages to move his tongue fast enough to change spells on the fly.
"Because we are in dire need...er... I believe in all of us!"
'All of us', in this case, sadly only referring to those on this side of the wall of ice.
Retconning in good hope instead of haste. Lasts 80 rounds. Blocked line of effect from Tanith, Farrukh, & Carina means that they aren't affected, sadly.
Carina Viera |
Fortitude Save vs. Poison! *Alchemist Resistance, Shield Other*: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 14 + 1 = 24
Will Save vs. Fear *Shield Other*: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 1 = 21
Carina stumbles forward from the force of the stinger in her back. Even with the fear aura throwing her off, she turns and gives the devil an incredulous look. "I'm sorry, did you just try to poison me? I'm an ALCHEMIST. I put worse s@+& into my body every morning!"
Round 3: Actions
Standard Action: Drink Displacement extract
The alchemist opts to focus on drinking down an extract--this one tailor-made to help her avoid getting hit.

Will Fear: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Just a note, Carina—doing that will provoke an AoO. Are you sure you want to go through with it?
Carina Viera |
Considering where I am on the map, I think just about anything I do will provoke an AoO.
Unless I'm allowed to do something like Cast Defensively, which, being an alchemist, I'm not sure I'm able to do.
Dungeon Kobold |
On the plus side, there's no way to lose the extract (aside from dying).
The tail lunges out as Carina drinks her extract, stabbing for her leg.
AoO: 1d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 17 New installment, new actual use for Dirge of Doom.
Carina manages to dodge as her form dilates and shifts position.
Farrukh slashes brutally into the bone devil, cutting deep into the base of its tail. The devil howls in pain.
"Astraden," Clunk calls from the southwest, "are you able to use that loathsome blast again?"
Astraden is up.
Astraden Limhaare |
IIRC everyone except Rodrigo would have been in range of the shield. It does not appear to require line of effect.
Will (rallying): 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 4 = 16
Booo.
Action point: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 [9/10]
2 + 10 + 4 + 3 = 19 Better.
Astraden shivers as the invisible devil closes. For a split second, the looming menace is overwhelming, but she tells herself that it's a f!##ing skeleton, and is she really going to start being afraid of those?
[31/80]
She's congratulating herself on her perseverance when a bolt of fire sears through her hair, exposing the white of skull in the split second before blood begins to weep from the wound. She screams, "NO!" in response to Clunk.
Cast defensively: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
Drawing an eight-pointed star in the air, Astraden carefully speaks a divinely reinforced command. "Vrati se na avionot na apsolutno pravo." Spreading from her hand, a flame of yellow and violet crawls over her skin and envelops her form. She turns and feels for the devil in front of her, but Eben can still sense the oppressive danger.
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 8
Biting back the pain, the priestess sidesteps, conjuring a double. She's still not sure it'll do any good.
Cast defensively: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27 [5/6]
Round 3: Cast dispel law (standard action), five-foot step south (free action), and cast copycat (move action). Chaos hammer lasts 4 rounds, dispel law lasts 10 rounds, and copycat lasts 8 rounds.

Round 4: Clunk
"Good."
Clunk reappears next to the hamatula, slashing brutally at its side.
Damage: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 171d10 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 151d10 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 131d10 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Spines: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 121d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 71d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 81d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
One of the spines stabs through Clunk's human-looking hand. Clunk grimaces. But the inevitable's sword does inflict some damage.
Round 4: Devils
The last two bone devils reappear again. One is in the air right next to Rodrigo, stabbing brutally at the unusually exposed summoner. The other is next to Astraden and Eben.
Astraden's armor manages to absorb the blow (and Eben's dirge combined with her ward protect her copycat), but Rodrigo does take a painful rake along the side.
Rodrigo takes 14 damage and must make a Fortitude save, DC 20, to avoid being poisoned and taking 1d3 ⇒ 2 Strength damage.
Meanwhile, the non-slowed bone devils strike at Carina and Farrukh. Eben's frustrating remarks render their attacks confused and clumsy. Except for one, as the devil's teeth sink into Carina's shoulder for a moment before she can shake it off.
Carina takes 13 damage (not counting shield other).
The barbed devil facing Farrukh seems to consider trying to cast hold person on him again, then scowls, shakes its head, and lunges to go for a different kind of hold. Farrukh knocks it away before it can grab on, but as its claw rakes into his flesh, he feels a peculiar fear taking hold.
"Give me. The. Rod."
Farrukh: Looks like a 29 narrowly misses your CMD, but take 15 damage and make a Will save vs. fear (+4 from Astraden's shield).
The other barbed devil attempts to cast the same ray spell again, aiming again for Astraden, but Clunk's presence forces it to cast more cautiously and it loses control of the magic. The spell fizzles.
"Inquisitor!" the devil barks at the nearer bony baatezu. "Give that bard something to really complain about!"
Sting at Astraden (FF): 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 18
Claw/Claw/Bite/Sting @ Farrukh: 1d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 151d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 161d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 181d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 14
Claw/Claw/Bite/Sting @ Carina: 1d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 141d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 141d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 301d20 + 14 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 14 + 1 - 2 = 16 Three 1's in a row?! Whose side do you think you're on, RNG?
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Claw @ Farrukh: 1d20 + 18 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 18 - 1 - 2 = 32 Damage: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (8, 1) + 6 = 15
Grab!: 1d20 + 22 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 22 - 1 - 2 = 29
Combat Casting (DC 19): 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 16 - 2 = 16
Round 4: You are up!
By the way, Farrukh, where are you keeping your rod fragment?
Rodrigo Dantares |
Fort Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Rodrigo grunts as the devil stabs him with its tail. Gotta get out of here or I'm dead, he thinks. He carefully casts a spell and flaps through the portal that opens next to him. He reappears quite some distance away.
Casting dimension door defensively.
Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27
Moving as shown on map.
Eben MacTeague |
"Carina, I've got something up my sleeve if you can get this wall down!" Eben calls over to the other side of the ice plane.
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |
Carina's pain gets Tanith's blood boiling but it's Farrukh's situation that gets his attention. Worried the slayer might be overwhelmed, Tanith turns his blessed poleaxe on the devil coming around to flank him.
Fervored divine favor.
Primary (haste, favor): 1d20 + 16 - 3 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 16 - 3 + 1 + 3 = 28
Damage (good aligned): 1d10 + 10 + 9 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 9 + 3 + (3) = 30
Iterative: 1d20 + 11 - 3 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 3 + 1 + 3 = 28
Damage (good aligned): 1d10 + 10 + 9 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 9 + 3 + (3) = 28
Haste: 1d20 + 16 - 3 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 16 - 3 + 1 + 3 = 32
Damage (good aligned): 1d10 + 10 + 9 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 9 + 3 + (4) = 30
If the first two attacks drop the one on Farrukh the haste attack will go on the one attacking Carina.
Farrukh Al-Khatel |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Posts didn't show up. Good thing I checked. Rod fragment is strapped to my belt, so I can easily retrieve it if necessary for healing.
Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Probably for the best, really.
"Nope! You can't have it!" Farrukh says and runs off.
Edit: My bad, 210 feet, since I haven't used my Quick Runner's Shirt today yet.
