"Ugh! Don't they know anything about entropy?"
Astraden releases a healing burst for Farrukh, summoning another duplicate as she steps back in rank with Tanith. I guess this means I can't get its head . . .

Round 2: Channel energy (standard action), five-foot step (no action), and cast copycat (move action). Magic circle against evil lasts 631 rounds, magic circle against law lasts 632 rounds, and copycat lasts 7 rounds.
Edit: I have been informed this is page 300. Happy 300???
Farrukh Al'Khatel
Noice. Also, I guess that means Coup de Grace doesn't count as a Death Effect (before KC think I'm accusing him again, I don't think it is either, but it's debated. =)).
"Balls. We spent that much effort dropping it and it just gets back up?"
"Well, first things first. I was going to disable the trap, but given how easy these things are dropping it seems like it'd take longer to do that than just break them. Keep a lookout for that Kolyarut."
Farrukh dashes off for the bow a bit further away, and give sit a whack.

How did the archons get all the way to the end of the hallway?
Rodrigo isn't going to do anything right now, once I get an answer to the above I'll act for the archons.
Dungeon Kobold
Not to give away valuable rules insight to a player, but I think constructs and inevitables have a thing about death effects. ;P
You sent them across the hall, Rodrigo, to spring any traps.
"That's pretty evil. I like it," Rodrigo replies. "Time to sacrifice yourselves for the cause of good, fellas. Fly down that hallway, touching everything as you go. When you get home, tell the next batch to get ready I'll be calling again soon."
If you meant for them to move back, they'd only get one light ray each.
Rodrigo Dantares
Oh...duh. It's just last round when I posted they were still at our end of the hall. Or I'm crazy...dunno which. Anyway, moving on...
"Bah, bloody useless...." Rodrigo mutters to himself. He casts his mind out to the planes once again and calls forth yet another squad of lantern archons, this time much closer to him.
Archons: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Half a dozen of the little light balls appear as their companions wink out. The newcomers fire a fusillade of light at the "spiritual" morningstar.

Farrukh, you can't reach the bow. It's way up in the air.
Post later in the day, unless Docs starts cooperating.
Dungeon Kobold
As stated earlier, the bows are up twenty feet. Everything else has entered melee.
Farrukh badly damages the flail, nearly breaking a link of the chain. The archons, meanwhile, struggle to land any blows in the chaotic melee between the morningstar and Tanith, but two bolts do strike home.
Round 2: Weapons
The battered morningstar advances and slashes at 1d2 ⇒ 1 Astraden. Meanwhile, the bow, flail, whip and scythe focus on Farrukh.
Bow @Farrukh: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 351d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 151d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Damage (on 35): 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Round 2: Tanith, Carina and Eben are up.
Eben MacTeague
"I got the bow for you, Farrukh!" Eben calls down the hall, sending another batch of arrows at the flying shortbow.
Once again including a cover penalty in case that applies. Using adamantine on the first two shots.

Carina searches in vain for the vanished inevitable while Tanith, not understanding weapon terminologies, attempts to explain to the bludgeoning/piercing instrument the superiority of his fists.
Although Tanith fails to get any point across, the device rapidly concedes the argument.
Round 3: Kolyarut

Round 3: Rodrigo, Farrukh and Astraden are up!

Astraden pulls out her rapier and stabs for the morningstar's ball, stepping forward.

Correcting, as discussed IRL:
Astraden rushes forward and thrusts at the flail, stabbing into the ice shaft.

I'm going to NPC Rodrigo and Farrukh in a few hours if they haven't posted by then.

Farrukh hacks apart the flail and scythe in a flurry of well-placed blows. Without missing a beat, he leaps forward and slashes into the whip, cutting off its base but not destroying it.
I'll give Rodrigo half an hour more.

The archons' rays blast the whip into water and ice shards.
Round 3: Weapons
No more!
Round 3: Carina, Tanith and Eben are up!
Eben MacTeague
Eben nocks a faintly glowing arrow to his bow and determinedly peers around the icy hallway, looking for any signs of an unseen metal man. "Come out, come out, wherever you are..." Meanwhile, he slips his wand out from his belt and taps it against his bow.

An invisible hand grasps the lever and pulls. The portcullis slides shut.

Touch Attack (FF): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21
A moment later, a glowing hand appears inches from Rodrigo. Rodrigo watches the hand brush over his head—evidently, the kolyarut expected him to be taller.
The kolyarut stands before the still-invisible summoner, eyes flickering with fierce flames. It's not talking anymore.

I'm sure I speak for everyone.
"Rodrigo! Open the portcullis, then move!"

Since I'm standing in the doorway, am I on the inevitable side of the portcullis or the party side? And, as a followup to that, can I fire through the portcullis without penalty?
Dungeon Kobold

You're on the party side of the hallway. The lame side of the hallway has Improved Cover against you.
Eben MacTeague
Bah. Well, in that case...
"Yeah, what Farrukh said, Rodrigo!"
Dungeon Kobold
Would you guys mind posting contingency actions for when Rodrigo is able to post?
Rodrigo Dantares
Sorry guys, quite possibly having my baby tonight or tomorrow. So...not really able to post properly. Please DMPC me for now. Opening the gate and moving as far from the Inevitable as possible is fine with me.

"This will not stand." A touch of anger at last flecks the kolyarut's perfect monotone as a single arrow pings off its breastplate. "The Vaati's legacy—"
Three more arrows pierce into its stomach. A whirring sound slowly builds and intensifies from the constructed outsider as it looks down at them.
The inevitable falls to the ground.

"Do you think the Duchess would let us toss him in her lava pool? That'd probably ruin his day."
Astraden Limhaare
"Probably. We could try just dumping it in the pit, too. I don't think kolyaruts can fly."
Farrukh Al'Khatel
"We didn't think it could heal, either, yet here we are. No kill like overkill, I say."
"Besides, he may not be able to fly, but he can probably climb."
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
"Couldn't we just tying him up or something? He's not that strong", Tanith suggests rather than joining in.
Farrukh Al'Khatel
"He seemed pretty strong when he was wailing on me earlier. He's hostile to our very presence here, and it's clear he'll take every opportunity he can to come after us since he could have just escaped earlier if he wanted. I don't feel like giving him a third chance, except next time he'll probably be back to full strength again."

Carina shoots twice. Both shots are ineffectual.
The almost ninja-like strikes of Farrukh, however, do help to keep the inevitable down.
