The Gateway Grove, The Isle of Last Resort

Yes and yes.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Magic continues its normal duration when a caster dies in PF, unless it relied on Concentration or proximity to caster (since there is no longer any caster to be proximate to).

The Gateway Grove, The Isle of Last Resort

Well, see, that's where the "tying Astraden to Spiny's back" part comes into play...

I'm gonna stop being a dick now.

Yes, spells continue on after their caster's deaths unless they are duration concentration. Spiny could probably also carry Astraden without being encumbered, yes. Haversacks are definitely waterproof, because they are in another dimension. The cloth might get wet, but the contents won't.

Carina makes sure her pistol, bullets, and powder horn are stowed safely away in her handy haversack while she waits for Cuetzpalli to return with Spiny.

She also mixes up two extracts of see invisibility while she waits.

Cuetzpalli:
[ooc]You can either swim back up, or go down the passage. I forgot to mention this, but there's a blueish-greenish light coming from the latter.

Is Water Breathing still active? What happens to magic when the caster dies?

Water breathing still has ~150 rounds on Eben, Cuetzpalli, Spiny, and Farrukh.

"Don't get wet!" Gattel Watam shouts from his place on the floor.

After the dinosaur and Olman climb down, the hunched man gets out a book and begins reading.

It's too late. You've angered the gazebo...

Eben gazes down into the pool of water as Cuetzpalli and Spiny sink below, then sighs and begins rolling up the cuffs of his trousers. Which won't help at all when one is completely immersed, but, oh well. mHe looks down at the shortbow in his hand and sighs again before stowing it in his quiver. "Won't be much use if we have to go under..." he mumbles, taking his longsword out instead.

Oh, hey, and as far as extradimensional spaces go we've also got Eben's quiver. The javelin/staff compartment is totally free and the bow compartment only has the one in it... though is the reason we're taking inventory because we're trying to figure if Astraden will fit in a holding space? Because she wouldn't. Not intact, at least...

"Well, times a'wastin'" Farrukh says, and cannonballs into the water.

The Gateway Grove, The Isle of Last Resort

Some of the party have trouble swimming down in the salty water, but everyone ultimately manages it. They swim in pitch black, only the sounds of the other swimmers assuring them that they are not alone down here.

At the shaft's bottom, a blue light begins to become visible. As the group proceeds down a small underwater passageway, they see the light grow until they enter a large submerged chamber. Up above, several bright blue flames flicker blurrily through the murky depths.

Carina can instinctively tell that the group is roughly forty feet underwater. She also feels extremely good—the healthiest she's felt since...well, since dying.

There is a ten-foot wide pillar in the center of the room, with a metal ladder leading up—that much is visible even for those struggling to see anything in the gloom. South of it is a stone platform of equal height. They both reach above water level.

Carina, Farrukh and Eben:
There is something large moving in the water. Farrukh can make out writhing tentacles. It appears to be of some bizarre strain of enormous octopi. It is located in the northwest corner of the chamber, barely in your line of sight.

Before entering the water, Eben casts a spell.

Using an AP to cast cat's grace again.

Traveling underwater isn't difficult- in fact he seems to enjoy the novelty of breathing underwater- but he does look around as the group swim-walks across the bottom, especially at those like Tanith and the as-yet-nameless Godfather who lack aquatic adaptive spells.

Even from as far back in the wading order as he is, he grows alarmed at the sight ahead. He points off to the northwest corner of the room and shouts out loud glubbing sounds. Those who pay attention hear the word, "Tentacles!"

Hrm. Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained, I suppose.

Farrukh moves in on the octopus monster, utilizing his newfound ability to study people with almost no effort required, and readying himself to hit the octopus if he gets a chance.

Swift Favored Target, Move move, Standard Ready to attack if it ever enters my range (or I enter it), Fighting Defensively (AC would be 25, CMD would be 27).

Just to be clear: I'd be dealing Piercing damage with my Cestus for the attack.

Alright, a few updates:

Unless you have a Swim speed, walking on the bottom is considered difficult terrain.

Carina, the godfather and Gattel have been underwater 3 rounds. Tanith has been underwater 4 rounds. For holding their breaths, they're at:

Tanith is at 9/32.
Carina is 8/20 (not counting this round's actions).
Gattel is at 7/24.
The godfather is at 7/20 (not counting this round's actions).
Everyone else has Water Breathing.

Eben and Carina are up.

Full-Round Action: Double Move: Swim to the ladder!

With her crossbow in hand, Carina swims with ease through the salty water. Admittedly, it feels incredibly pleasant, for reasons she has yet to grasp.

You know, if I could breathe underwater, I'd be enjoying myself a lot more.

She goes for the ladder and gets ready to climb it, not entirely convinced she'll be of any help in this fight.

The octopus's suckers latch painfully onto their victims' flesh.

Farrukh and Spiny are grappled (it will have to release one of them by next round, though). Constriction damage is already included in the damage rolls.

Gattel:
This is a spell you haven't seen in a long, long time, but your days in law enforcement (albeit in the petty realm of tax fraud) have introduced you to a beneficial spell called "Encourage". You've never heard of a cleric casting it—it's generally cast by a breed of illusionist called the "charlatan"—but you haven't had many dealings with Olidammarans, so you don't know what spells they might get.
As for the creature, it looks like some sort of modified giant octopus. The eye might have some sort of special significance, but you haven't seen enough to tell. It's almost definitely not one of a species. More like an experiment.

Farrukh, it's a Knowledge (nature) or (dungeoneering) check. Dungeoneering will be more informative.

Tanith and Carina, as stated, you are forty feet below the surface. Everyone is currently at the bottom, including the octopus.

Yeah I was mostly asking about our relative height to the octobeasty.

Tanith gurgles in pain when Carina's bitten and then again when he's jabbed in the shoulder by the party's token lunatic. The big Kordite scowls at the madman until he feels his already massive brawny form begin rapidly doubling in size. He paddles forward with a few powerful strokes and grabs for the dagger (now nearly a full-sized sword) hanging from his hip.

I also saw a magic knife that was a dead ringer for TF2's Dead Ringer.

Oh, and I forgot to mention this, but Farrukh's attack did hit.

Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3

Why would someone make a Knife version of the Dead Ringer? Pocket Watches exist in PF, i'd think. Then you could spend the Knife slot on Your Eternal Reward, and make a magic Fez to go with it and you'd be in business.

More on a tangent, I could totally see a Conniver's Kunai working as a Pathfinder item. Gives you an HP penalty equal to half your total, but if you ever kill somebody with a Sneak Attack or Assassinate ability you get it back and then some in Temp HP. I'd use it.

Spiny is about your height, so that'd be an extra forty or so feet's worth of movement (since it's swimming and therefore slower than mere difficult terrain). It'd also require a Swim check, though that's less of an issue thanks to your bonus.
