If folks have fun with the occasional blunder, I'm not going to advise against it unless we're already in dire peril - AP with lethal reputation or not. Some people have fun by building unstoppable combat machines and others have fun with silly theatrics and method acting. The fact that Age of Worms is harder than most shouldn't keep folks from playing the way they want to play.

Eh, fair enough. I just never like to see a character die, especially one I like and especially especially when it's preventable.
I'm not calling badwrongfun or saying everyone needs to "Build a combat machine or GTFO" but it'd make me pretty sad if Robin died (or Astraden died so closely on the heels of Erip) because of something so simple.

KC, was there any more info to be gleaned from the woman that showed up? You mentioned that Tanith knew her to have worked for Smenk. What was her name? Was she a former lover? Did he know anything about her situation?

Her name was Ainula Gavril. She's just someone Tanith has seen around town. The Ebon Triad isn't solely comprised of newcomers to Diamond Lake.

Actually, can the elevator be sent back up to the mine level from there? Or does it need to be brought up the old-fashioned way?

I was talking to KC about it and he said that we'd need people on the winch, yeah. It would have been nice if the process of cranking it down loaded a spring that would quickly re-reel the chain when released, but I guess Dourstone isn't a very good engineer?

With everyone dealing with cover, this is going to be a long fight. I don’t know if other stuff is going to happen in the meantime but we might want to do multiple rounds at a time.

Definitely. If you're going to crash for the night, rolling ten rounds worth of attacks wouldn't hurt. I suspect everyone is rolling for 20s.

Barring plot twists, I may end up NPCing some people anyways. It's a pretty simple matter of "attack against cover" or, for Cuetzpalli, "attack defensively".
I'll wait for everyone to post their current (Round Nine) actions before that sort of thing starts, though.

Sounds good.
Hopefully these sorts of fights are few and far between. ‘Tactically sound’ shouldn’t always involve a ten-round slog where everyone is rolling for 20s. If that’s the case, I’d rather go back to risking TPKs =P.

Just noticed Cuetzpalli also has three ranks in Acrobatics. It doesn't matter here, with the boar needing a 20 to hit anyways, but he would have a 25 fighting defensively with his shield, a 27 fighting defensively with shield, and a 30 using total defense with shield.

I think bombs would be very useful here. Even with shield of faith its touch AC is gonna be p shitty.
(I think you can, by the splash weapon rules - just target its westernmost square? Well, unless you miss.)

I'm tempted to impose an additional -2 penalty, since it seems like a harder shot than just aiming past someone. But I'm not sure that's how the rules should work—thoughts?
EDIT: Yeah, on further thought, I can't think of any reason or rule to impose further penalties. Cover is cover, regardless of its quantity.

I’d suggest Carina hold on to her remaining bombs. The boar needs 20s to hit Cuetzpalli. It’s just a matter of time before we whittle it down. Those bombs might be needed later.
