Fail 4:
Guard Perception:: 1d20 ⇒ 15
"What the bloody hell is going on in there? I swear there was something more than just voices Allan. I'm going to go check it out. You stay here."
You hear the door starting to become unbarred...
Oh no, that happened on the first roll. What would you want to do. Since the door's opening? Kharn and Vlad are still locked at this point.
Argan Midnight
Best thing now is to keep doing it and release the others. Could be too late before I get there to be of any use. I'll trust Eryan and Zephys take care of them, somehow.
But leave the ogre door for later.
Eryan Duskwalker
Eryan will wait till the guards enter and move past him. Once they are inside and notice the prisoners he will close the door behind them and prepare to disarm anyone trying to blow a signal horn.
Kharn The Binder
Kharn quickly thinks of something to say to keep the guard from coming in.
"Quick guardsman come in here. I think I may have just $h*t myself, and I need you to clean it up. Oh gods it's everywhere, and the smell! That could kill an elephant! Somebody come over here, and clean up this god awful mess!"
Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
Worth a try ;)
Argan Midnight
Yes, Kharn, who had a dagger. LOL fear us!
DM Yodler
Guard Sense Motive:: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Bluff failed
"Mitra's Name! Allan I'm not going to clean that up. You g$# d#!ned a%$@#*%*! You know we are going to leave you in there in your own shyte. It better not smell when I get in there. Or someones going to get a rap on the feet wit me club."
Kharn The Binder
Will Kharn be able to take any actions after being freed, but before the guard comes through?
DM Yodler
@Zephys: will give you two actions in the suprise round to account for any thing that occurred while Argan was unlocking Kharn.
Initiative:
Argan: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Eryan: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Kharn: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Vladamir: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Zephys: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Guards: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Combat Order: Vladamir > Guards > Eryan > Argan > Kharn > Zephys
Combat Begins - Suprise Round
The Guard opens the door and let's out a short gasp, all he is able to see is Kharn rubbing his wrists and ankles. Only one word escapes his lips at this time, "Eh?!..."
Vladamir Orlovsky
1st Str Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Surprise Round Str Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Vlad tries to break his bonds as Argan fails to pick them but is unable to do so.. He watches on as the guards enter the room..
In the shuffle if any get close enough to grapple he will.. Provoking if after his turn on the 1st round after surpirse round..Grapple: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
If no guards get close enough for him to grab than he'll try to break chains on the 1st round and consecutive rounds..
Str Check 1st: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Str Check 2nd: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
So if no guard gets close and comabt isnt over by the 2nd round than he finally manages the str to burst the manacles..
Argan Midnight
Even with the guard coming in, Argan keep working on Vladamir's manacles, trying to draw the attention of the guards to their cell. (surprise round)
Zephys
Holy crap. Guess I shouldn't have slept last night.
Surprise round:
Zephys whirls as the door cracks open. He raises an arm and hisses a strange phrase. A ball of dark red energy flies across the cell striking the surprised guardsman in the face.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Vladamir Orlovsky
I will act before the guard on round 1 so he still should be flatfooted towards me, which means no aoo.. My grapple check was 22 vs his FF CMD..
Argan Midnight
I've never seen a "similar lock" modifier rule, but it does make sense. I was only using 7 plus 2 from the tools.
Vladamir Orlovsky
Yea he posted it earlier.. I think it was one of those house rules that just makes sense :)
On a seperate matter.. Your about to see some throat rips!
DM Yodler
thought i had mentioned it. Sorry if I hadn't
Well the locks are all similar so after picking one you will get an additional +2 to the roll and yes the DC is a 20. I will count the check for picking both the hand clasps and the foot clasps
was near when you made the first attempts. Been crazy with the posts, so no big ;)
Kharn The Binder
Surprise Round action
Kharn quickly runs towards the guard with the dagger ready.
40 ft. closer to the guard
Vladamir Orlovsky
Ah i see the guard saw us and was retreating.. I thought we were getting our suprise round with him at the door..
DM Yodler
Combat - Round 1
Guard Stats:
AC17 T11 FF16 CMD15
Guard 1: 5 damage
Guard 2: 4 damage
Initiative Order:
Vladamir > Eryan > Guards > Argan > Kharn > Zephys
Vladamir tried again to break free of his bonds, some blood starts to trickle down his wrists from the effort. At the time all he can do is watch the events unfolding in front of him.
The guardsman coming into the cell block immediately realizes what exactly is going on..a jailbreak. He quickly yelps at his fellow guard, "Oh by Mitra's blessing! Allan get the horn! They are free!" After yelling that out several flashes caress his face and singe some hairs. The guard sees the wild man of hair and primal vigor come tearing towards him when his eyes come back to focus after the barrage of magic. He cannot let this beast of a man get free or it would be his head on the block next. He took a small step back to put himself between the door and the rushing fiend and drew is sword.
The other guard did not take the words spoken lightly. He scrambled to his feet and stumbled to the table across the room, where the signal horn laid. As soon as he laid his hands on the horn to notify the rest of the prison guard of the situation at hand. At that moment Eryan slid past the threshold of the door with his fingers glowing. The horn itself starts to glow with the fires of a forge.
Reflex DC 15: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"Yeargha!!!" The guard screams in anguish as the horn turns red hot within his grasp. He threw the horn to the ground, with the feint smell of burnt flash hanging in the air.
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Horn Landing: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Kharn The Binder
Actions for round 1
Kharn runs silently after the man who is trying to get back to Allan, and tries to stab him in the back.
Attack w/Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Not raging yet
Kharn missed with the dagger probably due to being slightly embarrassed about the lie he had just told.
Argan Midnight
"Stop moving!"
Argan tries to release Vladamir's shackles as soon as he can and handles him the dagger. Want me to roll again?
Although focused on the task at hand, he calls out to the Ogre:
"Grumblejack! When I release you, will you be my friend?"
Vladamir Orlovsky
Ok so im out the surprise round or round 1?
If on the surprise round
As Argan finally manages to open his bindings he stands up showing fangs.. Move action to stand
If on the 1st round
Vlad stands bearing his fangs and move 30' out into the hall(18).. Move action to stand, standard action to move 30'
Still cant move my token, but its prob my work comp.. Its old and doesnt have the latest software etc.. Can someone move me when needed please.. At least till i get home lol
Vladamir Orlovsky
Ok so round 1 would have put me 30' into the hall
Vlad will double move and be alonside Kharn, ready to grab the man we he tries to run..
Vladamir Orlovsky
Correct me if im wrong here.. Round 1 im released and get my full actions.. Stand(move) and then move 30' into the hall(standard).. Round 2 double move 60' and be right next to Kharn and the guard he's fighting.. If thats right can you move my token pretty please..
Eryan Duskwalker
Glad that the guard had been forced to drop the horn Eryan focuses on keeping it from his grasp. He lifts it into the air with a hand gesture till it is against the ceiling.
levitate horn.
DM Yodler
The guard outside the door facing Kharn holds his ground, scoffing Kharn for the weapon that he was using. "Oi, I think I may just have to chop your hand off to make you drop that now. Wouldn't I." He wields his sword and strikes back at the barbarian with a true purpose...To stop them. He also advances ever so slightly towards the door on his back side.
Guard #1 attacks and makes a 5 Foot step back:
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Hit Kharn for 2 Damage.
The hit barely connects and leaves a notch upon Kharn's forearm. He curses under his breath. I should have sharpened this thing this morning.
The other unfortunate guard was the victim of the tricks of Eryan. Holding his hands wincing from the severe burns that he had acquired. Regardless he only saw one person near him, and in conclusion he probably thought to get rid of the source of the trickery. "Brath, the bastard has gone and made the horn float! I can't reach it! Plus there is one at the door!" Following his panicked statement he moves toward Eryan and draws his sword to attack.
Guard #2 moves to Eryan and attacks him:
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Misses Eryan.
Kharn The Binder
Kharn looks down at the blood welling up from the cut.
"You're going to regret guard."
Rage free action. HP is now 17/19, AC is 11, F +9, W +3 CMB +7, CMD 20.
Kharn quickly runs past the man trying to cover Eryan's back.
Moving around guard using Acrobatics to try, and not provoke an AoO.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 DC 15
Failure, so I provoke 2 AoO from guard if he has combat reflexes. 1 if he doesn't have combat reflexes.
Attack versus guard w/power attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage: 1d4 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Crit?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Crit damage: 1d4 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Kharn smiles as slices into the guard with his dagger.
"Who's cutting off what now?"
EDIT: After round 2 Kharn will have 7/8 rounds of rage left
Argan Midnight
Argan sees Vladamir rushes after the guards and follows as fast as he can. Double move 12 squares.
If the upper guard is still alive please leave the flanking spot to me.
DM Yodler
Attack of Opportunity vs Kharn:
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Guard Misses his Attack of Opportunity.
Kharn's Dagger comes down swiftly, puncturing the mans throat. He falls to the ground gasping for air, dropping his sword and holding onto Kharn's tattered clothing with his outstretched hand. "Gharpbbsf...".
Guard #1 in unconscious (will mark with an "x" on map)
Vladamir Orlovsky
Vladamir moves and picks up the fallen guards sword.. Then looks at the guard menacingly.. "Drop your weapon and you'll die quickly.. If you dont ill bleed you slowly.."
Vladamir Orlovsky
I used 2 move actions to get there and pick the sword up, so im outa move this round.. Ill wait on the shield..
