I have a few questions jam involving sunder As you may have figured by my admatine hammer I'm gonna build my guy to sunder only problem is smashing up really good equipment, from what I can gather from reading the sunder ability is you have the choice not to destroy something so if you do over the damage required to destroy it you can leave it with 1 hp instead is this correct? Also is with armour and weapon because I'm officent with all except exotic ones already would it be meta gaming for me to know what the basic version would do E.G an earthbreaker does 2d6 while dagger does 1d4 and that full plate give you +9 ac while chain shirr is +4 or would some kind of check be required? Basically so I can pick out the stuff that would be beneficial to destroy and damage allowing others to hit and not be hit by something so hard. Also I would like to know can you sunder after a charge? I would also like to know that about vital strike. Can you vital strike on a sunder too e.g could I vital strike a wall or door? Even if I had to make a knowledge engineering check to identify the weak point. The same with weapons and armour but with a craft arms and armour check or something? Also can you vital strike or sunder on a cleave? Alot of questions for a monday morning jam sorry

1 - if you reduce an items hp to below 0 you can choose to destroy it or leave it on 1 hp with the broken condition.

2 - it seems logical that anyone would presume a greatsword is more dangerous than a dagger and a suit of full plate would be more protective than a hide shirt. So yes, you would armour and weapon stats.

3 - you cannot vital strike after a charge because vital strike a standard action and charging is full round (that allows an attack at the end. It's quite specific in its wording.) Sunder is an attack action and not a standard so yes you can charge and sunder.

4 - yes you can vital strike and sunder (but not on a charge)

Would trade all the above for just the +1 bow and a belt of constitution, but I am about 500 gold short for that :/

Kinda hesitated in upgrading the bow, and focusing on health but... I have the feeling that we soon may start coming against opponents with more DR, and I will need a way to surpass that. Of course cold iron, silve, and the blanches will assist in surpassing that but, If I can't damage them, then the archery goes to the hole ;)
