Mostly so I dont flood the recruit thread, and for the randomness that goes through my head XD
and what you mean start so suddenly, thought it a different way to introduce the chars to each other, and get more of a feel for them, and your styles.
and I admit Lou, that is almost cruel XD trying to decide how i wanna handle that XD
Marcus also has me a little curious with what he's planning XD
again ,thanks for joining, and for giving I a chance.
Sorry, I somehow read your post in recruitment as "afk for this weekend", otherwise I would have told you that I myself wasn't near any computer for the last 3 days (hiking trip).
I won't be posting my story up in this or the recruitment thread. Instead, as the story progresses, you'll get to know my character more and then if he likes you, he'll go more into his background.
It keeps things realistic, interesting and meta free. ;)
I'm also not optimising or planning my characters build in advance. He's level 1 and he's as good as I want him to be at this level. :)
I hope this goes on for a good while and we all have a good time!

heh. the weekend is my most active time since that's when I work.
@vironus: I would like to see more of the backstory, if you dont mind.
and I'll be honest, so far you guys haven't followed simple plan I had for intros XD... and I don't mind. am trying to decide how I want to proceed, tbh XD.
I dunno, I think we've all socialised with at least someone. You don't just get on with people in real life. You get to know each other before deciding on who you do or don't like. ;)
We're in Sandpoint. I'm currently running a Rise of the Runelord campaign for friends (when we can all make it), I know the town fairly well and so I think it's fairly fun to do your own thing between quests etc.
bah, back when i was dm'ing Living greyhawk, i was doing it online, and alot more finicky than I can be on here with player knowledge being seperate, and seperate from table knowledge :P keeping track of one, is no issue Edit: Especially for short periods of time :D
as to outpacing, waiting on people to respond to whatever that was you guys were seeing to make it a little easier on me XD so i dont have to spend an hour or two typing multiple spoilers XD
HP: 20/20; AC : 13, Touch : 13, Flat-Footed : 10, Init : 3; Fort : 1, Ref : 4, Will : 5; CMB : 0; CMD : 13, Speed (Base and Swim) : 30ft,
Wow ... I get in from work and POW! Lots of posts to read, I didn't even notice that the discussion thread was up and it didn't say anything about new posts here. It didn't in the gameplay either.
I am enjoying this thus far and I look forward to see how it unfurls. As for the map, I like it. It is easy to read and very simple.
I will gladly admit, I was surprised that it got off. XD After I get done with the adventure(?) maybe thats the right word, if you all want to continue on, I am willing to.
I am certainly glad you are enjoying it, was my other major worry XD. running 2 new things (PbP and custom campaign) has made for an interesting experience if nothing else.
HP: 20/20; AC : 13, Touch : 13, Flat-Footed : 10, Init : 3; Fort : 1, Ref : 4, Will : 5; CMB : 0; CMD : 13, Speed (Base and Swim) : 30ft,
The best thing with a custom campaign ... is that if the players do something completely different or storyline destroying, you can alter the campaign around it. In the Paizo Adventure Paths, you can't.
Yea, I still like your Game of Thrones one, Sam. That was pretty cool, as was the one where John and Dyl decided to fight myself and Jethro....lol. That ended fast though.
I'm enjoying this strangely, seeing as I only really like roleplaying in person as you can act and react accordingly to everything. Typing isn't as fun, but so far I'm liking the story. :D
HP: 20/20; AC : 13, Touch : 13, Flat-Footed : 10, Init : 3; Fort : 1, Ref : 4, Will : 5; CMB : 0; CMD : 13, Speed (Base and Swim) : 30ft,
That only usually happens when it comes to combat. During the roleplay side there is usually a lot of action, but as soon as combat hits it goes dead.
Will combat be :
* Posted in initiative order (slows it down, but makes it easier as no-one will attack the same foe if it is already dead)
* Posted whenever we can (nice and quick, doesn't slow combat down ... but people can attack a foe that has just been defeated.)
i will probably do a YGIG setup... (probably not good to look at it that way, but...) and if a target dies between steps, either give a secondary option, or I will choose a similiar one based on what you chose I think. If you haven't redacted by the time the npc's move.
For the moment, I may just use that paint program. the comp I have at work is sliggish at best, and laggy with maptools. and is kinda a pain to xfer file back and forth. wont look as pretty, but i can probably do that until i find a better option I think.
dont really wanna do a cinematic style of combat, it doesn't really appeal to me that much.
Well, if we hit I think we can all explain what happens to add the cinematics and atmosphere, if you're happy with that? Obviously our descriptions of devastation should match the damage done, but it saves you from making things feel cinematic if you're against that.
I love combat, but can just as easily imagine what happens in my head. :)
Since I'm not a veteran of PbP (honestly, this is my first PbP game), I can't suggest more efficient ways to handle combat scenes. I think we could be testing one way or another (prior group agreement) and see which method suit us better...
no, I dont mean cinematic as in explaining alot of the hits, I mean as in no 'tabletop' for it.
as far as showing combat, is what has been making me think about campaign wise for about 2 weeks.
have a projected path, have a secondary ideas in me head. one advantage of PbP is I have time to come up with stuffs if you make that right in Albuquerque.
