@GM: This isn't the weirdest team dynamic I've seen. I just joined a Skull & Shackles campaign. One person's playing a Ranger (favored enemy: aquatic humanoids). I'm an Undine. ;-)
On a different note, if Ulrik/Vironus want to read my latest spoilered comment, it's fine. It gives a good picture of Rogar's thoughts on their characters. Could be helpful in figuring out (ooc) how to continue molding and shaping our fledgling team of adventurers. :-)

I have had a few campaigns with the same sort of thing Rogar, highly amusing as I usually try to keep my special heritages a secret so nobody knows. When they eventually find out they get a little angry but can understand (usually) why I kept it a secret.
I am guessing that Vironus and Ulrik will have an encounter, where as Rogar, Marcus and I will just have nothing.

Yeah, my S&S character has amnesia and didn't know he was an Undine - until the party got attacked by Reefclaws. That's when the swim speed/water breathing/shapechanging kicked in. The Undine-hating Ranger flipped out and tried to murder me. We're currently doing the Dread Pirate Roberts/Wesley thing: "Good night. Sweet dreams. I'll probably kill you in the morning."
We'll see what happens encounter-wise. I wouldn't be surprised if Ulrik/Vi set off something. Of course, on the last foray into town, you and Marcus didn't get an interesting encounter (at least not that I'm aware of), so it is your turn....

Ah that's brilliant. I hope that your characters survives and is able to turn the Ranger to your side.
Well we are exploring places that have already been explored so unless Cindi was expecting company I doubt we will get into much trouble. But Vironus and Ulrik will probably start something, just to have a fight :P

IejirIsk, just waiting on you now. The group I am in needs the results of our search.
Vironus Antilles |
I'm just waiting to see if we can get into any of the buildings around here, to dig for a little more information.
Vironus Antilles |
Guessing so. :p
I run a Rise of the Runelord's game and just bought the anniversary edition for £28, along with the crit and fumble card packs for £7 each, having borrowed the Hardcover of the Anniversary edition from River and finding it a lot easier to follow in comparison to the PDF of the original telling.

I agree, IejirIsk. I love f2f, but I'm much better at role-playing over a PbP. Something about the written word makes it easier to get in the characters' heads. I guess it's the gift/curse of the Introvert. Or maybe it's that I (like many gamers) have a negative CHA mod. :-)

Maybe that's why I'm the opposite then. I'm pretty outgoing, fairly charismatic according to others and generally like being social, so I much prefer the pace and interaction of a real life game, as opposed to a text based one.
River Calah |
I have played Face to Face games and I like the pace of them as well as the company, however Play by Posts are better for actual roleplaying, even if the games do take a lot longer to do.
Vironus Antilles |
Lol, well it's unoccupied, and although it may endanger us, we'll have a better idea of what's going on.
Rogar the Beardless |
Hey, sorry I haven't been posting for a while. I'm still on, but the current game status + crazy awesome real life stuff means not a lot of time for PbP right now. I'm not dropping out by any means, just wanted to reassure everyone that I'm still here.

I'm kinda in the same boat :)

Having a few internet difficulties and it should be repaired soon, I will come on as often as possible though. Just thought I should let you know, I haven't left the campaign, just difficult to get on.
River Calah |
I hope not, I just don't know what else to say or do. I am still holding my spell just in case he reappears and trying not to say too much to ruin my concentration on the spell.
Vironus Antilles |
Yea, there's nothing we can do unless this guy really has left.
I guess he'd have attacked us by now if he was still here.
Rogar the Beardless |
Sorry about the silence, guys. I've been GMing two conventions and ended up making myself extremely sick. I'll try to get caught up tomorrow.
Oh, and I don't think I'd had a high enough perception check to notice any secret doors, but I can always try again. Just let me know.
River Calah |
However taking 20 requires an hour and also can't be done if you are threatened or distracted.
Rogar the Beardless |
At 2min per 5ft square, taking 20 won't be an option until we know if the guy's still here or not. :-(
