I am waiting for someone, or all of you, to tell me what you are going to do, or try to do.
When someone posts a message like this,
"We should open that door."
it doesn't seem to me that it is a statement to be treated the same as,
"I am going to try to open the door."
You interpreted that statement correctly - I was waiting for someone else to agree before backtracking. I just missed The Gretch's agreement post until you bumped this thread,

I apologize for the delay. The following message is going in all of my games. it is not meant to be directed at anyone in particular
First, thank each and every one of you for being patient with me
Second
This is a bit of a complaint and I want to be clear that it isn’t pointed at any of you in particular.
I hate perception checks, intuition checks and knowledge checks.
My experience with these games goes back a long time and I miss, more than anything, the interactions I once had with players. I miss the questions and the discussions that we had as players asked questions and I told them things that made them think of more questions and this was how the players learned about the world around them and this was what I enjoyed more than anything, the interaction.
But now that is gone. Players want to post a roll and be told everything they need to know. It seems that no one wants to try and think about what they could ask to get the information they need by dialoging with the DM, they just expect it to be told to them because they rolled well. I hate it.
But I understand why it has become part of the game. No one likes to feel as if they were beat up upon by an encounter because the DM played a trick on them and didn’t give them at least a few clues that might have helped, I get that. But I was never that kind of DM. If you ask enough questions, a s a player, I will tell you everything your character could possible know, and hopefully with that information you can figure out the way to success without feeling like you were blindsided.
I prefer questions like, “Do these plants look familiar to me?”
“Has anyone ever told me about this kind of building? Have I seen this kind of Door before? Are the hinges made of metal?”
If you ask a question like this, you are going to get an answer that I think you will think is fair.
I prefer direct stated actions such as, “I listen at the door,” or “I approach the wall carefully keeping an eye on the floor, but looking to the sides when I can.”
I realize this is a long grumpfest on my part, but I had to get it off my chest.

So, push on? Rest? I suggested going back under the portcullis to this room under the assumption it was defensible, but since it's no more so than the hallway we were in, and we don't know where any actual rooms are, any direction is as good as any other for continuing on. The metal door would be the most secure behind us if it leads to a room...

What is beyond that door?
Space beyond door is?: 1d20 ⇒ 15
it is a Room!.
How big is it, and does it have any exits?
Size of Room or Chamber: 1d20 ⇒ 4
it is a 10' x 10' room (which carries a -5 modifier on the number of exits roll)
Number of Exits?: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (4) - 5 = -1
There are no visible exits, but could there be secret doors?
South Wall: 1d20 ⇒ 14
East Wall: 1d20 ⇒ 11
West Wall: 1d20 ⇒ 18
hmmmmm,
And what is the room contents?
Contents?: 1d20 ⇒ 2
the room appears to be empty

just got an Email from the plant manager, it reads, no kidding, "the Furlogh has been Furloughed, please report to work Monday." The stress has just about wore me down to nothing this week, and I'm supposed to go on another trip out of town this weekend, sheesh.
Haha
SO!
To recap: You have rested eight hours. You are in a room with only one entrance/exit and you spiked it shut for safety.
There is a passageway outside this room that eventually leads to a flight of stairs going up to Level 1.
There is is a Portcullis in the Passageway, and on the other side of this Portcullis is another Passageway, fifteen feet wide that goes east and west. You have not explored either direction.
There is a Metal Door in the west wall of the Passageway outside of the room. You are pretty sure it is not trapped, nor does it appear to be locked, but it is stuck, and it will take some work to open it.
If Harrienys does not check in today, I will assume he is fed up with me and my slow posting rate, and I will attempt to recruit a new rogue for your group.

Recruiting replacement character now!
Also, as soon as your group decides on a course of action, we can get moving again. If making decisions about where to go and what to do does not interest you, perhaps you should consider if playing in this game is right for you after all. I'd love to have you all stay and play, but it seems like you do not want to be decisive. You can always elect a "Party Leader" if you want to and defer to that character’s decisions from this point on.

Izabeck - I got to tell you that your concern baffles me. There is a post right above this one, just two posts up, that describes the area you are in right now, and the map that is posted in the link at the top of the page (although it does not show the players in their current locations) matches that posts description. It details all the options available to you. A more detailed map would only show you where you've already been, not where you haven't been, and that is all you really need to do. Choose to explore a place you haven't already been, right?
so, to re recap
you do not know what is beyond the metal door in the west wall of the passageway.
there is a second passageway that goes east and west, into unexplored territory.

4 = continue 60 feet straight ahead
8 = continue 60 feet straight ahead
11 = A Door!
Let me determine how many doors and where they are
How Many Doors?: 1d20 ⇒ 17
There are two doors one on the left and one on the right
I'll check to see if either door is a non-standard sized door
Door 1, left side: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Door 2, right side: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Door 2, on the right side (west side) is a non-standard sized door, lets find out what size it is
Door Size: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Wow! it is A Large sized Double Door, each of the two doors in this double door is 8 feet high and 5 feet wide
now calling them Door 1, and Door 2 (the double door), let's have a player roll 3 d20 for each door to determine what kind of door each is and if they are locked or trapped.

Another Periodic Check
1d20 ⇒ 17
Ah a chamber is indicated
How Many Chambers?: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Egads there are three chambers, one on the left, one on the right and one straght ahead.
Chamber #1 (on the right)
Chamber Size #1: 1d20 ⇒ 10 is 40' x 60' in size
Chamber #2 on the left
Chamber Size #2: 1d20 ⇒ 10is also 40' x 60' in size
Chamber #3
Chamber Size #3: 1d20 ⇒ 6but this chamber is smaller only 30' x 40' in size
