Speaking of excuses, I'm attending a wedding on Saturday, out of state, but even if I don't get home till Sunday, I'll have a post Saturday morning.

Probably not going to get any in at the reception though, between drinking and dancing.

Have fun at the wedding! Thanks for letting us know.

Sorry, Core and APG only.

I know that Ultimate Equipment (and the other Ultimate books) have brought a ton of useful feats, spells, items and magic items to the game. I don't even remember what it was like playing without them anymore. However, I really want to try to keep this game more along the lines of traditional D&D in terms of simplicity - APG and GM chase mechanics aside.* ;-)

You may find non APG / Core items in hordes, but these will mostly be chosen to match the theme of the written adventure. Think of them as old school custom items when/if they come up.

* I see that more like using the bestiary. Contraband for players, fair game for the GM.

As for my "Chelish" gaff... nicely done, sir. Nicely done.

I will say, though, that my first ever Pathfinder GM kept calling the Chelaxians "Chelish" because it stuck in his craw to say it the proper way. Sounded too much like "Chillax"-ians. It's bound to rub off, right?

That's funny because I wasn't considering it a gaff. I just assume bars/taverns are loud places and one is apt to mishear things. I almost use Chelish and Chelaxian interchangeably.

Anyhoot, my true sadness was being unable to find a good pun for a jealous wine. I thought it might be green (envy of course), but there is a better pun out there that I haven't gotten to yet. Maybe one of you yahoos can think of it?

Well, I wouldn't bother with the haversack for Ciaran. His carrying capacity should be plenty, and you are already encumbered with the armor,

However, there are still things you could get... Such as a MW Silver Warhammer (if you have to ask why...), and perhaps a MW cold iron Heavy pick. For one, you are thin on weapons, what happens if you are disarmed or sundered? Two, you lack damage types and metal types.

Then , some more stuff.... Potions of enlarge person are always good. Oils of magic weapon and bless weapon. Getting a pearl of power so the caster can recast something to buff you and/or the party (shield of faith, bless) .

Other potions or scrolls for versatility, such as spider climb, dark vision, oils of daylight. Make sure you at least have a potion of CSW as an emergency save you ass!

And where is your dagger? Light source? ROpe, grappling hook, mess kit?

While I was busy earlier in the week, I've been slow playing Baz to match the pace of the group rather than overpost and not give others a chance to post.

As for the current point, I left some hooks in Baz' last post that maybe someone will pick up on or argue against or whatever.

I'm happy to go faster, but not against the current pace.

Gado, with his odd mix of fascination and adrenaline, pushes his innate fear to the back of his mind, moving forward with the charge of his summoned creatures. He reaches for his second pearl of power in his pocket and wills the words of the magic missile spell back to his mind as he moves.

Wow. 4 actions in a round? What is the term for this? Is it a 'Gado'?!

Double move is two.
Pulling out a non-weapon, that's another.
And then activating a magic item is another.

1, 2, 3,...4!! 4 actions!! hahahaha!

(GM Damo) | Main Map | Big Map | Tactical | The Audacious | Loot

Missed that. Bazsil is quite right. Move to retrieve, standard to perform the "command" required to recall the spell.

There's no real time limit on the pearl though, so you can do it when we're out of combat (or next round) if you like.

... so, how was everyone's weekend? My in-laws were in Houston (and still are) so it was a bit hit and miss for me. Also, the Texans stank up the field on Sunday. With Carolina double-teaming JJ to keep him out of the action, it became pretty obvious that the Texans are a one-trick-pony kind of team.

Mwuahahahah I am the master of time!

Actually the Double move, couldn't quite get into range was referencing the earth elementals, both of whom had to double move to get closer. They get their own actions independant of Gado.

Gado knew it would take a standard action to activate his pearl of power, and also knows he is out of spells, so recalling his magic missile is the only thing left he has to offer, other than perhaps a summon monster I spell. So Gado single moved, then used his standard action to recall his spell.

Technically I took 3 full actions, because I have 3 things to control...

Sorry if that wasn't clear enough on the gameplay thread!!!

(GM Damo) | Main Map | Big Map | Tactical | The Audacious | Loot

All good. Maybe that's why it didn't ring off any alarm bells when I read it on gameplay, only when Bazsil wrote it in. I think someone's competing with Jack for most levels in their "rules lawyer" class. ;-)

We all met at my sister's in Toledo.

Michigan State jumped to #2 in the AP poll and escaped relatively unscathed from the cut-block attack of Air Force

The Lions sucked it up, so I refer back to my Joy of Michigan State jumping to #2 in the polls.

Oh, and my Alma Mater, Western Michigan absolutely crushed Murray State.

Speaking of why Gado is out of spells, he cast Mage Armor on Bazsil before he went down the hole. Bazsil made a deal about asking for it from Gado without asking for it from Gado. So that's why AC is 20.

And as far as the rules lawyering goes, that wasn't rules lawyering...that was teasing. Completely different. I reserve the right to tease and trashtalk and part of that is the occasional rules-tease.

My weekend: lots of football watching, writing, and exercise. First, the Cal Bears had an epic game at Texas on Saturday. They crashed, rose again, were leading by 14, crashed again, then only won when the kicker missed the last second PAT to tie. They won 45-44.

Then I watched (and enjoyed) the 9ers get stomped, then enjoyed the Raiders actually play football for the first time in a long time in Oakland. They won...and they showed promise for the future.

Did you know that 9ers have some jackhole Aussie rugger on the team? Apparently, he's a thing.

Also, GM Euan is starting up another AP. If you recall, he's one of the very few GMs to finish a complete AP run on these boards. There is an open recruit thread now...GM Euan's 2nd Darkness or something. I scratched up my new yahoo for that: Jallena (draft).

Anyhoot, life is good.

Also, I ended up with a copy of the Shackled City. Just trying to figure out where on Golarion it would best exist. Apparently, people have many opinions on that topic.

Holy sh*t, September 23rd? Same as my youngest daughter! She'll be 3, so probably the years are different, but that's still cool.

As for mage armor, Bazsil, I remember that now! When you get a chance, please add it to the 'active conditions' on your profile. No trouble at all if you wait until you're home to do it from a computer.

Got some mates who were almost literally spewing about that Texas game. It made for a profitable poker night. I love playing against non-violent drunks.

Did not know about that jackhole Aussie for the 9ers. Cool. We Australians know how to kick. Well, not me... but "us".

The most important part of football this weekend was that my fantasy team remains undefeated, thanks entirely to the Cardinals defense. None of the actual football teams I like (Seahawks, Saints, anyone playing the Patriots) has been doing anything so far this year.

Although speaking of the Cardinal, it's always nice to see my alma mater defeat the University of Spoiled Children. It doesn't happen very often, so I always make sure to enjoy it.

After 2.5 years, my home Pathfinder group failed utterly at Jade Regent, so we just started up a Star Wars game on Sunday as a change of pace. We're the kind of Rebel Spec Ops group that rescues prisoners by impersonating a rock band and staging an impromptu flash mob concert on the Spaceport landing pad, so that we can free the prisoners in the confusion, then steal the Imperial Commanders shuttle with a couple of dozen groupies on board.

Heads up that I'll be at GrandCon this Friday thru Sunday and so likely won't be online at all.

Hey, how did you know? It was a cattle farm in rural East Texas and now it's all planted in pine trees. Sure made going to school in Palo Alto a bit of a culture shock, let me tell you. :)

Actually that just gave me an idea for a bit of Gado's personality... Since his wisdom score is so low, he is obviously gullible, and perhaps a bit blind to sarcasm... Now to find the right opportunity to take a sarcastic comment seriously in gameplay... hehehehe

I wasn't for a very long time, until this summer actually. I work in Battle Creek and live just west of there. This part of the state is pretty awesome...

This made me laugh... Still can't believe they pulled that one out...

So I own 1 NFL jersey. Zack Follet, Detroit Lions Jersey. I loved watching him play... Sucks about his neck. Some day I am going to go to California just to go to his coffee shop.

Spent most of the weekend hanging out with family. Went to an apple orchard to pick fresh apples and raspberries. Very bountiful this year compared to last.

Also, I don't watch football, but a new indie film was put out on YouTube! Kung Fury! It's hilarious.

Played in my D&D 5e campaign last night. Killed an adult white dragon pretty easily, but my group balked at killing the cloud giant who betrayed us despite having two evil characters, a rapidly falling paladin and a dwarf fighter who has gone from LG to N over three levels.

If you care why:
Went to Hell to save a member of our party who was transported there by the Deck of Many Things. Found a bunch of loot and provided a way for another player to add in an evil tiefling character. Paladin decides to attune to a sword with a hilt showing evil outsiders and makes a pact with an archdevil to escape Hell. Archdevil replaces his eye with one of his own. Needless to say, his god isn't a fan.

Dwarf Fighter went into a town of lizardfolk and killed everything. I mean, everything. Murderhobo'd it up. This was before he willingly decided to attune to an artifact, sentient evil greatsword due to its powerful necrotic damage and anti-healing effect. Now, the sword won't let him use anything else but him when they fight.

Oddly, evil tiefling isn't that evil. Never seen him do anything evil.

Cleric of Bahamut (race unknown [maybe gnome now?] as we've had to reincarnate him four times now) is quickly losing favor as well as we have a spear of Tiamat, the Black Dragon Mask and a few other Tiamat relics. Cleric won't let us use them, but also doesn't take any steps to turn these over to his temple to destroy them or at least keep them under lock and key.

My character is a Harper (spy organization who works towards Neutrality between Good and Evil and Law and Chaos). He has convinced everyone to give him the loot and items due to having the Leomund's Secret Chest spell, so most of the magic items (aside from combat gear), loot and trade goods are kept by him. Not sure if the GM is going to give me orders to siphon off some of the more powerful relics of evil we have from Hell and the Tiamat cult back to the faction in Waterdeep.

Did you know that 9ers have some jackhole Aussie rugger on the team? Apparently, he's a thing.

I should point out that he's/was a league player, not a rugger. I'm not sure what a jackhole is, but I suspect it describes Jarryd Hayne exactly.

While we're talking about team sport ball...

The Rugby World Cup started this weekend, so that's what I've been doing. Japan has won something like 2 games in 26 years, and came down to 3 points behind South Africa (who are very good, for those who care but don't know) and got a penalty kick on the siren. Rather than taking the kick and possibly levelling the score, they went "F*@~ it, we'll go for a try instead" and got it, in one of the greatest upsets in rugby history. There were people crying in the stands. It was just beautiful.

I now return you to your regular conversation.
