Heck, if the Captain wanted crabs we didn't have to come all the way out here, we could have found him a girl in port
Alain will take 10 on the swim.
perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
*edit* Is that enough? Yep. He sees 4 crabs and takes 10 on the swim to catch them.
Enya Cendrillion
Enya sighs. "Fun... Swiming in loads of water... My favorite..." When she sees Aldous, she laughs and has an idea. She swims with him, If he lets her and giggles mischeviously. She goes under, pretending that she was just swimming under the water, her body slightly glowing. She tries to get his attention by spitting water at the back of his head. When he turns around, she spits more water into his face, laughing hysterically, pretending, very poorly, that it wasnt her. "We're off the ship, might as well have fun while we can!!" She is obviously in a good mood since last night.
Taking 10 on swim, Takes about 18 rounds, with messing with Aldous, 13 rounds if he doesnt let me.
Enya sees crabs everywhere and begins to and fill her bucket.
I auto-succeed on perception and Im taking 10 on swim.

Go ahead and get familiar with THIS while you wait for River/Tao to post. No particular reason...
Tao Sheng
The next morning found Tao on the ground as he had fallen from the small hammock with a hard bang on his face. Groaning to his feet, he watched as River woke for her normal morning routine.
On deck, the new orders are given to the surprise of Tao, and the excitement of his large Half-Orc friend Cuddles. He stretches a bit, cracks his knuckles and neck, grins, then charges the edge of the boat on Cuddles' heels, snatching a crab trap as he went. With a relatively elagent dive, he begins to pump his arms swimming as fast as he can in an effort to give the big man some sort of challenge.

Well now, I Just saw your post for the swim rules. I guess it was a house rule that we could accelerated swim. Well, That was a whole lot of useless high rolls and wasted natural 20's. LOL!
Aldous Mathis
Totally read it as 400 feat. Hence my mouth being wrong. 15ft for 27 rounds (I also mistyped...it has been a long 6 days at work with less than 24 hours of sleep...yay). I'm really not this inept.
Looking over his shoulder as she says that and he looks then, to her. "Goddess help me." he whispers as he joins in the fun.
That said...yeah...fun fun
River Calah
In the morning I wake to find my hammock empty and I look around frantically, then see Tao on the floor, so I climb out and give him another kiss as he rises, "Morning and thank-you for last night, it was perfect." I walk with him to the deck after the routines have been completed and smile when I hear that we will be off ship. I grab a bucket and dive off of the side of the boat backwards, landing in the water with a small splash.
I begin to swim full speed to the reef, where I place the bucket and then dive down to find some bigger crabs on the surface of the sea floor.
I will double move to get to the reef, which will take me 4 rounds. I automatically pass the Perception checks (just) and swim checks, so it will take me 8 rounds to get to the reef and catch all of the crabs for me, in total. I will start to catch more crabs and place them on the reef beside my filled bucket and I will place them in Tao's bucket once he gets here. So Tao will have 4 given to him and 1 for Cuddles.
I seem happier than I did this morning, if that could be possible and it would seem that I can swim very well, who would have known? I can also hold my breath for a long time, staying under the water the entire time apart from bringing up the crabs. It could even be your eyes playing tricks with you, but you think I turned Blue briefly once I had landed in the water and began swimming off.
Once Tao has been given his crabs, I will start to swim around him (like a shark) and whenever he comes under the water, I will kiss him. I seem to be at home and at peace in the water.
River Calah
Edit : Just noticed you said that you would be timing us, so once I have filled my bucket I will rush back to the ship and pass the bucket up, then head back again and take the next filled bucket over and return it to the ship, etc. So in 12 turns I have left the ship, filled my bucket and given the bucket to the crew on the ship. Then another 4 to return to the party and collect a bucket, then another 4 to hand over another bucket. That is 20 rounds and 2 buckets have been delivered. That makes more sense ... unless they don't let me return for the bucket after I have delivered my own?

The swim race is on! River takes off like a bullet and rapidly disappears into the depths - coming back shortly with a full bucket of crabs before grabbing another bucket and jetting away. Enya and Aldous are having a cutesy water fight and quickly fall behind the other swimmers. Alain, Cuddles, and Tao are neck-and-neck when Tao suddenly surges ahead as they near the (imaginary) finish line. Gotta impress your girl ;-) Suddenly, all of you hear ominous MUSIC begin to play as two creatures swim out of the reef and approach River menacingly. River, your second bucket is halfway full.
Baddie: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Alain: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Aldous: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Cuddles: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Enya: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
River: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Tao: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Enemy Average Initiative: 13
PC Average Initiative: 11
The creatures spent their turn moving to River, so everyone can go now. Don't forget the Swim rules from my previous post! Good luck, you'll need it....
River Calah
My head is just above the water when I shout, "TAO, EVERYONE, HELP!" I swim back 5 feet and begin to cast a spell, reciting an incantation and my hands circling around themselves until a cloud of steam gushes forth from my hands engulfing the creatures.
5 foot back.
Burning Hands (DC 15 for half) : 1d4 ⇒ 4
Requires a Spellcraft to identify the spell, but how come it is steam instead of fire? :P It still does Fire damage though.
I am SOOO glad I changed my spells today! I figured that I wouldn't be able to use the others much, so changed ... SOOO lucky!
Your Benevolent Dictator
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
River's boiling of the water (Enya would be proud) catches the creatures completely off guard, and they get scalded. Still up, though.
@Alain: if you're underwater, I'll need a DC 16 concentration check on that sleep spell. Don't forget, it's a 1 round casting time, so it'll go off in 6sec. :-)
Don't forget to move yourselves around on the battlemap and keep me updated on your depths. If you're underwater, you'll need to hold your breath.
Aldous Mathis
Aldous swims forwards as far as he can go. He had gotten so used to being on the ship, he had stopped praying for effective spells. He would have to change that tomorrow, but this time, he would need to get closer in order to attack the critters.
Aldous Mathis
Knowing he is in a hurry and swimming, he gives Calistria a quick prayer for luck.
swim: 1d20 ⇒ 5
luck?: 1d20 ⇒ 14
I was afraid of that ;)
River Calah
Why the 2 Swim checks? Not including the Luck roll. Does that mean you have to take the highest between the 1 and the 5?
Aldous Mathis
Because my internet is faster than my mouse, apparently. I clicked stop to add the luck option and it apparently had posted, go figure. I'll take whatever the GM says (I deleted the extra post, which was a 1, so the first roll was a 1 and the second was a 5)
Enya Cendrillion
Enya watches as the reef claws go for River. "Oh s!!%. What the hell?"
k.Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
"They're Reefclaws! We have to get to River! They're claws are poisonous! And they don't die without a fight! Careful everyone! Resistant to cold! And for some reason understand common." She looks at Aldous, splashing around in the water. "Fun times over... Be careful..."
Swim: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
She begins to swim towards River, trying to get there before she is grabbed to help her. Mica swimming behind her.
Your Benevolent Dictator
F#&~ing bards! *growls angrily* Now I have to make an additional Knowledge spoiler....
Cuddles
Double move up to just behind river.
swim1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
swim2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
When Cuddles hears the cry for help and sees a great gout of steam he pounds through the water, swimming as fast as he can toward the trouble.
Edit: Then again, maybe not
Tao Sheng
Swim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Swim to me!
Tao hearing River's cry for help makes his way to her as fast as possible. As he reaches close to his destination, he hooks a finger along the cross-piece of his weapon and throws his arm hard letting the blade fly out of its holster. With his other hand he grabs the moving blade by the middle of the blade, it's razors edge drawing blood from his bare palm and fingers. His grip hard on the balancing point of the blade, he takes his the original hand and grips the cross-piece the way one would grip a pistol hilt, ready to "jack hammer" the blade into the creatures chasing River.
Tao double moves up to 15' (half speed) as a full round action and draws his weapon and takes a -4 to use it as an improvised piercing weapon.
Your Benevolent Dictator
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Grab: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Red: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Red Reefclaw moves up and grabs ahold of River. Take 2pts damage, and give me a Fort Save DC 13. Failure means you lose: 1d2 ⇒ 1 STR. A moment later, Alain's spell goes off, and it relaxes its grip and falls asleep.
Blue Reefclaw moves to a flanking position and snaps its claws menacingly.
Your turns... One note: please make sure to indicate your depth on the relevant comment. You should be able to edit it. If not, just add a new comment, and I'll do it for you.
River Calah
Fortitude : 1d20 ⇒ 5
I swim away from the threatening area as fast as I can and swim towards Tao.
Withdraw (I can do so in a way to provoke no attacks).
30 feet down.
Cuddles
As cuddles swam up to that area last round and I couln't edit it myself (stupid space phone), I will assume I'm within 15 ft.
swim!!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Cuddles spots the large crab and disappears under water. He latches onto the crab's claws at the base, hoping to avoid them altogether.
Crabby Huggles!: 1d20 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 9 - 2 = 15
Enya Cendrillion
swimmy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Enya continues to swim towards River, making it, just barely. Double Move
Tao Sheng
Tao moves in on Cuddles' position, diving down below the surface and moving beside him to get a clear strike on the creature.
Swim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Tao will double move 10' forward and 5' down next to Cuddles as a full round action.
Edit: Or not. Failed swim check.
Aldous Mathis
Aldous tries to swim towards the combat, praying for luck.
Goddess, please, I cannot exact my revenge if I die at the bottom of the sea.
swim: 1d20 ⇒ 5
lucky: 1d20 ⇒ 17
With that, hopefully he can surface and double move.
Your Benevolent Dictator
Blue Reefclaw thrashes about but is unable to get loose. Strangely, it appeared to be attempting a countergrapple instead of breaking free....
Red Reefclaw continues to dream happy dreams of helpless landlubbers being torn to shreds by its powerful claws.
Your turn. River, I need a Fort Save DC 13 to avoid losing : 1d2 ⇒ 1pts of STR.
Enya Cendrillion
Enya consentrates deeply, looking hard at the reeflcaw grappled by cuddles. "Amok..amok..Amok.. Amok..AMOK..AMOK..AMOK!!!" Hideous Laughter (DC 14)
Alain Shadestrom
He was going to cast sleep on blue but it would be a bit redundant as Cuddles is trying to pull it's face off right now so he'll stop.
"Hey Tao, do you think you could coup de grace the sleeping lobster?"
swim: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 move 15' towards Cuddles.
Tao Sheng
Swim: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Tao sputtered last round having started to sink, but regains himself and hears Alain's suggestion. With a nod as his head bobs above the water, he makes a break for the giant sleeping lobster. (Yay for no knowledge nature!)
Tao will a 15' move directly at the Red reef claw.
Aldous Mathis
Once more, Aldous simply swims towards the combat, very upset with himself for not having anything he is capable of helping with at this range.
1d20 ⇒ 20
Lucky: 1d20 ⇒ 5
River Calah
Fortitude Save : 1d20 ⇒ 19 HOORAY!
