Enya Cendrillion
She shakes her head. "No. I can only do a certain range. I could get it up over the ship and someone would need to pull it back down. Unless there is a spell that can pull objects magically." She thinks on it. "I just got the note spell, so Im not sure the extent of it."
She nods at the compromise, though not satisfied. "You know its not only I that crave the touch of the others skin, Aldous. I can see it in your eyes." She brings her hand up to stroke his face.
Aldous Mathis
"What if you created it up near the deck, we had Cuddles and Tao climb up with two of the ropes tied together, one end with them, one with us, then we could have one of the jump down with the rope over the note...making a pulley to lift one of us up each time. It wouldn't be the fastest for everyone, but we would make it.
Tao Sheng
ALDOUS! GET OUT OF MY BRAIN! lol. I had the same thought.
River Calah
I look to Aldous obviously impressed, "That's a very intellectual way of thinking. Maybe this means that we will be able to have some intellectual conversations from now on? I was hoping I would be able someone would be able to prove interesting ... I wonder, have you ever played the game Chess?" I sit and help tie knots in the rope at intervals.
I look up from my knotwork after a while, "As I previously mentioned, I curse those who deserve it, I figure that the crew deserves it now ... I think I have found a way to prolong the curses too, well Arirai came up with it actually."
Enya Cendrillion
Enya shook her head. "only if they climb up by grappling hook. The not can only hold 130ish pounds."
Enya Cendrillion
Enya nods. "That's what I said! Then when we get back on the boat we can stop them from throwing things at you."
Aldous Mathis
"I was also considering commanding any of them near the edge to 'help' and if Cuddles or Tao hands them the rope, they may jump down for us. Shouldn't take longer than the spell's moment to get back up there. Perhaps use that for the last one of us down there, then we cut the rope and we are down an enemy," he says with a grin.
Alain Shadestrom
Alain will look around guiltily to make sure we're unobserved, I can cast mage armor on everyone now, while we're away from the ship. It'll last a couple of hours.
Alain will cast mage armor on everyone who doesn't object. He can cast it 5 times so everyone gets it but him. He figures that he'll be last up the rope and wants people on deck to protect him :-)
River Calah
I look up at Alain, "Hopefully I won't be close enough to require its effects, but I suppose it can never hurt to be careful. I know the spell, but did not prepare it today."
Tao Sheng
Tao nods toward Alain with a thankful expression smiling with the knowledge that their plans seem to be coming together.
Anyone else have any otha thoughts? Maybe a second plan in case this one goes wrong? Unless you all awe confident we can do dis without a backup.
Tao Sheng
Tao will wait for everyone to weigh in. I will try to post tomorrow morning to give everyone time add any last minute ideas or plans.
Your Benevolent Dictator
So, the current plan is for Alain to mage armor five people. Enya creates a solid note for Cuddles/Tao to attach the rope. Everyone gets hauled up individually, and the last person climbs up themself. River/Enya/Aldous will debuff/distract/command the ship throwers. Anything else, or is everyone good to go?
The crew is waiting for you. There are six of them - all holding garbage, broken bottles, and other debris. The current's caused the jollyboat to drift slightly closer to the Wormwood, so you're approximately 30ft away.
Enya Cendrillion
Enya begins to sing.
bardic performance:Fascinate DC 15 will
"If you've heard it before, Ill sing it again
About a group who wouldn't give in.
Some were strong, tough, and brawny
Other wits and spells galore
but as you can see honey....
I'm so much more!!!!
Look at my bosom as I climb up these ropes
Look at hy hair as it flies through the wind
Watch my body move as youve never seen before
Climbing to you, I can't wait for the end.
You seem so macho
you seem devine
I bet in the bedroom
youre completely sublime.
So watch now, my honey,
as I climb just for you
to get so much closer
So we can do what we'll do"
If they make their save, Ill use hypnotic ability: Once per day, when a creature rolls a saving throw against such an effect from the ifrit, the ifrit can spend an immediate action to force that creature to reroll the saving throw and use the second result, even if it is worse.

Alain: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Aldous: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Cuddles: 1d20 ⇒ 10
River: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Tao: 1d20 ⇒ 7
1d6 ⇒ 2
Since Enya initiated hostilities, I'm going to put you guys in rounds now. Alain, you've mage armored everyone except yourself. Go at it! :-)
The pirates jeer as Enya begins her song and begin to throw dirty nasty stuff at all of you - except for one pirate who stares blankly at Enya with glazed-over eyes. Fortunately, with the exception of Alain (who gets smacked in the face with a bucket for 2pts nonlethal damage), they all miss.
River Calah
I climb out of the boat once Alain has cast his spell on me and swim underneath the boat as it is moving towards the ship. Once it stops I will resurface and hold onto the rope that is offered.
The boat should grant me total cover / concealment. Same as Alain, purely for role-play purposes although it is have a way of avoiding the flying rubbish.
Tao Sheng
Tao grabs the other ore and keeps in rhythm with Cuddles' calls pumping hard to spur the little boat onward. Once within 15', Tao shoves the ore next to him and takes up one of the hooked lines preparing for the word for the plan to spring into action.
Tao Sheng
When the moment comes, Tao lets out a primal roar as he lets the hook fly toward the ship fueled by his determined anger to overcome this obstacle.
Tao will use controlled rage for 1 round to boost his Dex by 4. This will give him a +5 ranged to hit. Since I do not know the current modifiers for our range and such, please adjust the result accordingly.
Grappling Hook: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Your Benevolent Dictator
Going to bot Aldous to keep things moving. New round starts now.
Aldous: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Cuddles: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Tao: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Cuddles/Tao: 1d100 ⇒ 33
Cuddles: 1d20 ⇒ 18
1d6 ⇒ 2
Cuddles and Tao strain at the oars and manage to pull the boat to within 10ft of the Wormwood. Missiles rain down on you, but most miss. One nasty clump of garbage looks like it's going to hit Cuddles but instead bounces off an invisible force field just in front of him. (tell Alain ,"thank you") However, one block of wood manages to penetrate his defenses and bashes Cuddles' arm (for 2pts nonlethal). River and Enya are ignored (due to hiding underwater and fascinatingly beautiful singing respectively).
Your turns. You're within grappling hook range, but I'll wait to use those rolls until I see whether or not Enya's going to do something with solid note as previously suggested. The baddies are within close range for the purposes of any spells or whatnot. Have fun storming the castle! ... I mean ship.
Aldous Mathis
He waits for Enya, Cuddles, and Tao to go into action, but in the meantime, he touches Tao to give him a bit of guidance. [ooc] +1 to your next d20 roll [/occ]
River Calah
I surface and shout up at the closest crew member on the wormwood, "You dare to throw things at Tao, everyone and myself?! You weak and pathetic human, know your place!" I then let out a rather scary laugh.
Will Save (DC 15) : Misfortune
Tao Sheng
Tao does not wait for the solid note to be cast thinking he can throw the line over the note after he makes it on ship when he gets up. Tao does not want to waste any time to give the attackers more time to hit them with rubbish. Jus tell me if you want me to re-roll my throw or use the roll from about +1.
Enya Cendrillion
Enya casts solid note.
Your Benevolent Dictator
Alain: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Aldous: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Cuddles: 1d20 ⇒ 17
River: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Tao: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Tao2: 1d20 ⇒ 11
1d6 ⇒ 1
Enya's solid note materializes above the deck of the Wormwood, and Cuddles quickly tosses a rope over it. At the same time, Tao grapples the Wormwood's railing. The pirates continue to throw stuff, and one strikes Cuddles again (for 1pt nonlethal damage). The pirate focusing on Tao looks intimidated by River's creepy laughter and misses his target. Another pirate continues to stare blankly at Enya in fascination.
Your turns. Just Climb checks remaining. 30ft, so 2-4 checks. Knotted rope means DC 5, but no Taking 10. One final note: the pirate that's hit Cuddles twice is within 10ft of two other pirate throwers.
Cuddles
climb, accelerated: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
climb, accelerated: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 = no progress
climb, accelerated: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 = no progress
climb, accelerated: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Cuddles bounds up the rope.
Those rolls sucked. If I fail at an accelerated, does that make it a pass as normal speed? If so, then I'm up in 3 rounds. If no then I'm up in 4. 4 rounds... really dice? really?
Tao Sheng
Climb(Accelerated): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Climb(Accelerated): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
After 2 rounds, Tao is no longer fatigued and has climbed 30'. Round 3, Tao will grab the grappling hook as a move action and loop the length of rope over the solid note as a standard. Could I also get a house ruling on using the grappling hook on one of the enemy pirates and throwing em overboard so I don't have to climb back up for rounds 4-6. >:D
River Calah
Still laughing I stare at the man who threw things at Cuddles.
Misfortune (DC 15)
Cackle still going so both him and the first one keep there bad luck until I stop laughing.
I was under the impression that the non-climbers wouldn't climb, that we would hold onto the rope and would get pulled up in a few rounds?
Cuddles
Cuddles forgot the plan. That should have been enough to go up and over the note.
Cuddles hands the hook to the first two people to go up and starts to haul them skyward. His huge arms take in great, long chunks of rope at a time.
str check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Tao Sheng
I thought the plan was to have me and cuddles climb up, then two of the others would hold onto the other end, and we would jump down so the two below would get shot up onto the deck. Then we would climb back up and do it again.
Aldous Mathis
It is/was OR to have one of 'enemies' commanded to jump off with the rope so that it vaults us up there
River Calah
That is what I meant, but had a case of writers block and couldn't figure how to word it."
I keep laughing, but as soon as the rope is handed to me I accept it and hold on tightly, still laughing. It is clear I feel useless here, so laughing manically may unnerve them and give us a slight advantage. (Also the fact it is cackle works well too.)
Enya Cendrillion
Enya never stops singing as she waits for her turn up the rope. Im sorry Ive been so slow guys. Im sick and I have to take the damned GRE in 4 days...
Your Benevolent Dictator
Aldous: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
River/Enya: 1d100 ⇒ 23
The pirate throwing stuff at Cuddles is made of pretty hardy stock, and he's able to shake off River's intimidating laughter. Aldous' target, however, suddenly jumps overboard. Guess he fancied a swim. He gets tangled in a rope as he falls and catapaults River onto the Wormwood's deck (Acrobatics 15 to avoid landing prone). Cuddles/Tao make it on deck in 2 rounds (knotted ropes for the win! (Thanks, Alain). The remaining 3 pirates are distracted by the flying laughing crazy lady and don't throw anything this time. Instead, they reach for saps.
Current Status:
PCS: Cuddles/Tao/River are on deck. Alain/Aldous/Enya are in the jollyboat. Jumping back into the water requires an Acrobatics check DC 15 to avoid 1d3 nonlethal damage.
Pirates: One is taking a bath, one is fascinated, one is misfortuned. The other three are now holding melee weapons.
River Calah
Acrobatics : 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
As I fly through the air my laughing quietens a little, but upon landing on the deck on my hands and feet I look up and laugh loudly once again.
I will then stare at another new target, to make them feel insecure too.
Aldous Mathis
Grabbing the rope, he hands it over to Enya and then looks up above them, trying to find the right target. Then he pulls his whip free and defends himself as he watches the railings.
Tao Sheng
Would you allow me to make an improvised weapon attack with the hook? And if so, what would be required to have it latch onto them; get them to the edge; and shove them overboard? I was thinking, the hook would require an improvised attack. The pirate would have to make an opposed reflex or be entangled. Then a drag maneuver to bring him to the edge, and a bull rush to drop him over the side.
