Selling them is going to be difficult. Shopkeepers are going to know what they are, I suspect, and they'll want to know how we got them.
This is a most interesting conundrum...

Celia Victocora |

No reason we can't get disguised up and tell them exactly why we have them and the reason we are selling them, especially if we can find someone that is supportive of the ravens that could possibly sell them overseas :)

Gregor Ward |

I think, that if they are notable enough, they could be using them to scry with/on already, yes? Our best bet may be to hide them somewhere we never return until all is over. *Shrug*

Evander Forrell |

If they are, I would hope that the GM would give us a Perception check to notice the scrying sensor - the Conspirator Investigator archetype gives bonuses against both scrying and noticing scrying sensors, so I'd like to use those.

GM Zek |

Hey everyone! Hope y'all had some good holidays.
I'll give y'all some time to discuss your plans, here or in the gameplay thread.
You can roll to see if there's a sensor, Evander. However, you already know at this point that the items are unique enough to be scryable even if there isn't a specific tracker on them already.
You will need to decide what to do with them, and I assume you'll want to do that before returning to the Wasp's Nest or beneath the Lucky Bones.
If there's anything else you want to do before returning to one or both of those places, let me know.

Gilda Grabapple |

The way I read the description, they are unique enough that a simple Locate Object can bring whoever wants to find out where we lair right to said lair.
Presumably we'd want to drop them somewhere we don't lair and see who comes to that place over time. Like find a suitable place we could've had a base but didn't. Then if the guards come in to round us up, we can spot that was the plan all along and print our newsletter saying we caught Barz red-handed in trying to stop our continued good works.
Of course, remember Gilda has the Paranoid trait so she'll grab the items and dimension door away and toss them into the ocean before letting them get into the Nest or Bones.

Gregor Ward |

Once again, Gregor is in begrudging agreement with Gilda. Keep them somewhere that we could set a counter ambush, but never let them anywhere near our current bases. Maybe even find a location to use on the opposite side of the river.

Celia Victocora |

I'm fine with the others suggestion of putting them somewhere, maybe just leave them in this safe house, and then get some of our people to watch it and see if Thrune ends up sending anyone after them at some point.
I still think if we can find someone to sell them to, that will maybe transport them around a bit, that would be helpful, but has its own host of issues.

Gilda Grabapple |

Perhaps we can immediately hit the streets and find a person that would purchase them and take them promptly out of the city to foreign markets?
We don't even need to sell them directly for gold at the first step, we could even swap them for textiles or livestock, and then do a follow-up transaction to sell those untrackable goods.
Gather Info to find a Varisian trader headed for Absalom?

Evander Forrell |

Sorry, I'm a bit muddled at the moment. Our options with the belts are the Sharptooth fellow, Captain Sargaeta, or sticking them somewhere and seeing if anyone tries to find them, right?
Is there anything else we have pending to do?

Matiscio Tartaluna |

Sorry, I'm here now. I rolled into a long and busy weekend right after New Years and then got headbutted by something flu'ish. I sound somewhat like Batman right now IRL, hrm -_-
We could always go for the middle road approach with the items and have Gilda dump them into the water ... but in a waterproof bag/container, so we can retrieve them if we so desire? That should buy us enough time to find a buyer. Also, while Matiscio wouldn't know anything about this, I imagine that if you stick them into a bag of holding you won't be able to find them with Locate Object? But that might be too (meta) gamey.

GM Zek |

Pretty sure that's your only outstanding thing at the moment, Evander.
Good to hear from you, Matiscio. Sorry things have been rough. It seems the flu is particularly nasty this year.
-----
On another note, you all can go ahead and level up to 7! New spells and such will be available after you rest.

GM Zek |

Hey guys, just a quick note. Celia brought up the possibility of taking the leadership feat. I know I originally banned it back in my first recruitment post. However, if you want to get a cohort for non-combat purposes only, I'm open to that option. I would ask that you run any ideas you might have by me before you settle on something. Thanks!

Matiscio Tartaluna |

I'm not planning on taking the Leadership feat, but the campaign seems to lend itself really well to a cohorts that don't tag along for the adventuring parts of the campaign :)

Evander Forrell |

How far are we from one of the safe houses we had the Fushi Sisters set up?

Celia Victocora |

Since Celia didn't have to use the hold person she can convert back to a invisibility sphere for the group to get back safely as long as the walk doesn't take more than 7 minutes.

GM Zek |

Hey folks, some of you may have already noticed this, but I wanted to make sure y’all knew that I’ve started doing my standard game updates a bit earlier than before. I normally start around midnight (eastern U.S.) or so now, as opposed to 2 or 3. If you normally post around then, you might consider posting a bit earlier or perhaps being one of the first to post instead for the next round of posts. Thanks!
Also, remember that you’re level 7 now. You may not have access to spells and extracts till the next day, but skill increases and any other abilities you acquire would be useable immediately. Could be useful. :)

Gregor Ward |

Oh, poop, I had forgotten about leveling up.
Don't know that it will help that 3 sense motive much though, lol

Gilda Grabapple |

Level 7
Shaman to Level 7
+8 HP (5 base, 1 favored, 2 Con)
+5 skills (+1 Bluff, +1 Heal, +1 Perception, +2 Sense Motive)
+2 background skills (+1 Sleight, +1 Handle Animal)
More Spells (next rest TBD): +1 1st, +2 4th
A lot of good things come online at 4th for Gilda which will be fun for this AP:
Detect Scrying - up 24 hrs and lets us know
Familiar Melding - Gilda can control Sprinkles and do recon
Divination - Should we ask a question about Barz?
Scrying - When we need it
Sending - Might be good to have on hand to communicate with Laria, our crews, each other
Feat: Thinking... my note here is to remind myself that 7th level opens up a faerie dragon familiar if the AP is built for Ven to be "acquirable". GM Zek? Better left as NPC or familiar?

GM Zek |

I would have thought just the word “leveling” would have been enough, but I guess leveling up ain’t what it used to be.
As for Vendalfek, I seem to recall Evander also being interested in him, so y’all might want to discuss that. Either way, I’m fine with him potentially becoming a familiar, but I would want you to RP with him beforehand and see if it would be a good fit. If it did work out, I would reserve the right to RP him out of combat, but he would be fully yours to command otherwise.

Celia Victocora |

Level 7:
+1 Reservoir Points
+6 HP (4 Lvl + 2 Con)
4th Level Spells: Emergency Force Sphere, Invisibility, Greater
Feat: Leadership
Skills: 8 + 2 Background
Fly +4
Know. Arcana +2
Perception +1
Spellcraft +1
Appraise +1
Linguistics +1
Language: Aboleth
For Leadership I just want to make sure I get my Leadership score correct. At a minimum I should be at an 8 Leadserhip score I believe: 7 (Level) - 1 (CHR Modifier) + 2 (Base of operations). Which would give me a 5th level cohort, this also meets to requirement of a cohort being at least 2 levels lower than the character. If that is all correct let me know how you would like me to build the cohort. Figured it would be one of her students or colleagues at the college. As discussed going to mainly use them for crafting.

Evander Forrell |

Sorry, my mother-in-law couldn't make it in Friday due to bad weather to watch the baby, so I took the day off work to do so. I haven't had a chance to level yet, but I'll take care of that.
As for Vendalfek, Evander has no interest in having a Familiar. I don't recall what my interest was in Vendalfek beyond having an allied faerie dragon spy for the rebellion, either, so he's all Gilda's for Improved Familiar.

GM Zek |

No rush, Evander, just get to it when you can, though the sooner you do so, the sooner you can benefit from it. :)
Don’t forget to make sure your character class/archetypes are spelled correctly and level is displayed correctly (I personally appreciate this!).
Celia, yes, 8 looks like your correct current score. Your cohort could be a colleague or a student, whichever you prefer (or something else). Professor Alexandrius could be an option, if you were interested in making him your cohort.

I also just realized I'd been calculating both my Disguise modifier and Bluff when I'm acting innocent wrong, so I need to tweak that.
EDIT: Feat! Right, I get a feat at this level. Um...Let's go with...Fiend Sight (low-light vision, darkvision to 120 ft).

Matiscio Tartaluna |

I doubt I will have time to level up Matiscio tomorrow, but I should be able to do so this Thursday. My apologies. This week has been awful so far.

Gilda Grabapple |

Any group insight/requests into Gilda's usual daily spell prep?
Should we clip some of Tayacet's hair and scry on her? :)
I almost feel like we should have a stash of everyone's nail clippings or hair so we can scry on anyone who may get captured!

Gregor Ward |

Gilda Grabapple |

@GM Zek: What do you think? Is it something you'd want to add to the already large burden of running the AP?
I'm content either way. Gilda would still want to keep Sprinkles Too around, presumably with the feat it (he/she?) would be relegated to just a mundane rat. I'd just hate to miss out on a lot of written adventure, "If Vendalek is here, he recognizes XYZ" type moments.

GM Zek |

I wouldn't consider it much of a burden, to be honest, Gilda. The AP actually specifically mentions that Vendalfek could become a familiar if an appropriately aligned character is available. I also personally quite enjoy roleplaying as him.
I just double-checked and the AP doesn't have anything else planned for Vendalfek, other than being an ally of the Ravens, so you don't have to worry about missing out on story moments. You might even get some extra ones this way. :) But ultimately, it's up to you.

Gilda Grabapple |

I'm having a hard time picking another feat besides the more mundane Spell Focus or Extra Hex options so this feels a little more interesting.
Gilda will go for it assuming she can still keep Sprinkles Too as a mundane rodent on her person?

GM Zek |

Yes, you can keep him on your person as essentially a pet, but he won't be able to aid with anything in or out of combat. You can still use him for roleplaying, but he'll otherwise just be a mundane rat.
Once you get back to the Wasp's Nest we can roleplay your discussion with Vendalfek.

Gregor Ward |

Will not likely be able to post this weekend. Going to my first gaming CON, a small local one.
