Vandomir Jarvis |

Vandomir commences to launch arrows at the succubus...

Abbo Lyrio |

Could I try the escape artist as a standard, then (if free) move out more than 5 feet?
Escape Artist: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 = 13 Prayer
This check likely fails, but it's worth asking anyway :) Assuming the DC is the same for Escape Artist or STR check (my STR is +5, that's why I rolled the Escape Artist one; if the STR check would be easier, then that's what I'd pick)

Aster Cobblestone |

Aster casts another quick liberating command on Abbo.
I'll look at the rest of her turn after dinner

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

Bazzle tosses a dagger through the vines, but given that he's yet to even see the succubus, he really has no idea what he's aiming at. His best guess is to throw just ahead of where Abbo is fighting. He lets the dagger fly, and surprisingly, he hears a yell of pain! And it isn't Abbo! But it also is a man's yell, so it wasn't the succubus.
I must be missing something I thought Xyl showed up on the scene and did an evil villain speech. She then pulled a whip out and things went to crap. I know there are illusions in play but I thought she had revealed herself. I would have gone for another target if I couldn't see her. I hope the person I hit was an enemy.

Aster Cobblestone |

[ooc]might be the vines? The blurb on the place says they offer total concealment from anyone greater than 15 feet away.[/b]"
Aster starts casting a summoning spell.

DM Hell's Fox |

The vines. Total concealment means you can't see them. Aster and Vandomir have a smaller penalty since they beat the illusion, and Abbo is right in the enemy's grill. You two are the only ones who haven't actually seen her yet. If you want to attack her, you're going to have to get within 15ft of her, or make attacks blindly in her general vicinity. Since we established that looking at the succubus makes her harder to hit, I thought you might be going for this tactic.
The person you hit was an enemy. It was the enchanted man. Apart from the Ostovites, he's the only enemy (and the only male enemy) other than the succubus herself.

DM Hell's Fox |

@Abbo, escape artist is a full-round action, so no you wouldn't be able to. I'm inclined to say a Str check to burst out would also fall under a full-round action.
@Rexandi, since you don't have line of sight to the succubus, you won't be able to cast Web Bolt at her.
Abbo steps forwards, getting to the end of his so-called leash. He tries to struggle free, but the vines have him wrapped up firmly. Aster quickly frees Abbo with another casting of one of Milani's preferred spells. Vandomir looses two arrows, with the first being a clear miss. The second hits its mark, but Vandomir notices that it barely scratches the demon.
Xyl the succubus says something in a foreign language.
"Ostovites, go get your chariots and join this fight for real."
Rexandi, Aster, and Bazzle's turn
Miss 20: 1d100 ⇒ 84

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

Bazzle crouches along the south wall and moves in the direction that Abbo went.
Stealth: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35
There is a barrier of some kind between Bazzle and Abbo. Is that an illusion.

DM Hell's Fox |

Yes, you'd think of it as a tangle of vines, but it's actually an open gate. You can walk through it

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

Hiding and moving forward I imagine is my full round correct? Sorry most of my gaming these days is 5e so screw up action economy. Hiding I assume is an attack action vs. a move action.

DM Hell's Fox |

I understand the struggle. I screw up spells all the time in 5e. Hiding in itself is not an action, though it's usually part of a move action. Moving while in stealth requires you to move at half your speed. I assume you're on your phone, but you can always check d20PFSRD if you're unsure.

Aster Cobblestone |

Does the demon have her back to a wall, or just the end of the map. Wanted to drop a giant spider to flank for Abbo, so I need to know.
A celestial spider the size of a man appears next to the succulen--horrible demon witch and takes a snap at her with its jaws. Poorly but it is just a spider after all, but a spider does not find the thing attractive, no not one bit.
picked a creature immune to mental effects, but with a plus +2+3 to hit this is unlikely to help much

DM Hell's Fox |

Can I get a name for the celestial spider?

Aster Cobblestone |

A quick look up of spider names gives us, Anansi

Aster Cobblestone |

I can't believe charlotte didn't come to my mind :)

DM Hell's Fox |

Though Bazzle is quite sneaky, the succubus is very hard to fool. "I can see your aura Baby. Don't worry, I like short men too."
Aster summons Anansi, the Celestial Spider into combat. Anansi immediately smites the succubus and tries to bite her. Xyl quickly dodges out of the way. Aster tries to pilfer the whip out of Xyl's grasp, but Xyl grasps the hilt firmly.
Rexandi moves closer, but the vines continue to obscure her vision. In an effort to get vision of the succubus, she double moves.
During her dance, the succubus strikes a pose, and a blast of fire shoots out in every direction. Anansi is reduced to ash and dust, while Abbo and Rexandi get a pretty bad burn.
Abbo takes 25 fire damage, and Rexandi takes 20 (due to her tiefling resistance)
Xyl says "Are you sure you can handle this?" Before walking further into the lair, her hands held to the back of her head as she struts away.
The ostovites swim deeper into the lair, abandoning the fight. The vines try to wrap around Aster and Vandomir, but both of them simply ignore the attack.
I'll have another map up and ready in a moment. It's everyone's turn.

Abbo Lyrio |

You said you'll put another map up - so I take that I can't 5-foot-step and full attack her? Because she isn't exactly "there" where I'm seeing now? :)

DM Hell's Fox |

Abbo, Rexandi, and Bazzle look down the flight of mossy stairs to see the succubus walking towards an open set of double doors. Inside stands a Tiefling, covered from head to hoof in ornate plate armour. A magical shield floats around him.
No you wouldn't be able to 5ft step to full attack. She moved away.

Vandomir Jarvis |

Vandomir continues his assault on the succubus...

DM Hell's Fox |

They were originally, but the succubus said something in Abyssal and they started swimming in this direction

Aster Cobblestone |

cure serious wounds: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3, 7) + 6 = 22
Aster moves forward and touches Abbo "She is rather irritating isn't she?" a whispered prayer later a lot of his burns dissappear.

DM Hell's Fox |

Vandomir's second shot arcs down the stairs to hit Xyl mid-torso. The shot seems to have only a minor effect, but Xyl gasps dramatically. Immediately she says "Baru! Are you gonna let them do this to me?"
"No, my Love!" The heavily armoured man shouts, and his eyes start to glow red behind his helmet.
Aster casts a healing spell over Abbo, taking care of the majority of his wounds.
Abbo, Rexandi, and Bazzle's turn.

Bazzle pulls out the Crack of Lightning and takes a shot at the new armored guy.

DM Hell's Fox |

He's unconscious. You hit him with your thrown dagger, and Abbo quickly bashed him into the dream world. Am I being too vague?

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

No. I was trying to make sense of the narrative and the map together. Its more that we are at various states of unaware in character. With all the illusions and possibilities for disquise I wanted to confirm things. Its also been a couple days since that happened. I am also asking questions because I feel Bazzle is unequipped for this fight. Bombs aren't going to do much against Tieflings and Demons so I was just doing a role call of threats. With the missing mini I forgot the Milani Priest was down. PBP is every going to be days of typing to resolve questions that would take seconds to clear up in person.

DM Hell's Fox |

I'm not sure if I can solve those problems. I potentially could write a recap of all the rounds, or make separate spoilers for those who believe in illusions and those who don't.

Bazzle Blast-hazard |

I'm not sure if I can solve those problems. I potentially could write a recap of all the rounds, or make separate spoilers for those who believe in illusions and those who don't.
nah. I was just asking questions reaching for a foe that I though was a good target.

Abbo Lyrio |

Abbo charges the succubus, not knowing any better... Still in his Shikigami Style.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 18 + 2 + 1 = 41 Prayer; his light shovel counts as a +2 weapon
Damage: 4d6 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 3) + 9 + 1 = 20
Confirm?: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 18 + 2 + 1 = 38 Prayer
Extra: 4d6 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 5) + 9 + 1 = 24
If he hits, we will try to disarm her.
Disarm: 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 15 + 2 + 1 = 21 Prayer; improved disarm
The snake feint ability lets me bluff as a move, or combine it with my movement if I have improved feint, which is the case. I don't know if it applies when charging, but if it's the case...
Bluff: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Sneak: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 If the feint works, his attacks will deal sneak damage
Extra: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7 EDIT: ... In which case, if the crit confirm, I believe I add extra from it as well.

DM Hell's Fox |

Though Bazzle's attack does nothing against the new guy, Bazzle does realize that the man's armour is an illusion. He's wearing chainmail, not full-plate. Rexandi heals her wounds, while Abbo charges in.
I didn't find much, but it looks like the answer is no because a charge is not a move action. Apparently that includes "as part of a move". I think it's a reasonable trade off. Do you know what would be insane? Combining snake feint with a 5ft step.
Abbo charges forwards, but suddenly, the heavily armoured man rushes in to intercept the charge. He yells "I'll protect her with my life!" And he does so, because Abbo's shovel brains him over the head so hard that blood shoots out from the wound, as well as a fragment of skull (which is done through his helmet, so obviously it's an illusion). The man collapses on the ground, bleeding out terribly.
If you're wondering how he did this, because it is rare, he's using the intercept charge teamwork feat.
The succubus doesn't even flinch, but rather smiles. She moves back a bit and tries to trip Abbo with her whip. Abbo hops over like a jumprope, but then she manages to strike him once to inflict a minor wound. Abbo takes 13 damage
The Ostovites continue to swim away. Meanwhile, the vines continue their attack. Rexandi gets entangled in the vines, but Aster disbelieves it. In truth, Aster can see that Rexandi is actually caught on one of the hooks dangling from the ceiling. The more Rexandi struggles, the more likely she'll be caught on more hooks.
Everyone's turn.
Bazzle Will: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 1 + 2 = 18
Trip: 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 11 + 2 + 2 = 24
Whip: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20
Dmg: 1d4 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + (2, 6) = 13

Cmb: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Cmb: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Cmb: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Note to future self, Xyl does not get her strut bonus this round.

Abbo Lyrio |

It makes sense! I was thinking on combining it with the Scout rogue ability to make an opponent flat-footed on a charge. Maybe for the future, but I like the full brawler route too
Abbo holds a bit before moving - particularly, since he's hurt, he waits for his companions to see if any new healing is coming.
Once his companions acted, then, the hurt brawler moves ahead. As moves, he dances, trying to feint against the enemy.
Bluff: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 Feint
He wants to pass directly by her, and position himself after the demon. He will tumble as he doesn't know if he feinting worked.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Tumble
Finally, as he stops, he will try to attack her with his shovel.
Attack: 1d20 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 18 + 1 = 21 Prayer; his light shovel counts as a +2 weapon
Damage: 4d6 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 1) + 9 + 1 = 18
Late but not least, in the unlikelihood that he actually succeeds to hit her despite his weak swing, he will try to disarm her.
Disarm: 1d20 + 15 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 15 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 21 Prayer; improved disarm
Eeew for all my rolls. I don't think I succeeded in anything I tried at all :) Lol

Vandomir Jarvis |

.Vandomir keeps firing arrows at Xyl...

Aster Cobblestone |

Abbo, Aster healed you last turn for 22.
"I really don't want to get close to... IT... but..." the oracle gestures to Rexi to help her get unhooked. cast liberating command then she rushes forward to help flank with Abbo.
double move

DM Hell's Fox |

Xyl isn't fooled by Abbo's zigzagging. She strikes back with a lash of her tail, which although does very little to hurt Abbo, gives him an odd sense. He kind of enjoyed the snap of the tail lash, and he'd kind of like to feel that again.
Abbo is treated as flat footed against Xyl's tail attacks until one connects. This does not apply against her other attacks.
Turning around, Abbo strikes hard against Xyl with the end of his shovel. It's a strong hit, but as Vandomir has been learning, the damage is minimal. The attempt to disarm her is thwarted, however.
Though Xyl's dancing has been slower and less difficult to hit, Vandomir still has to contend with the vines (ropes). His arrows get through the tangles, skipping just over the top of the stairway to hit Xyl down below. Both shots meet their mark, each dealing middling damage. Aster hobbles down the stairs as best she can, in an attempt to help Abbo flank. Her spell to free Rexandi succeeds.
Rexandi and Bazzle's turn.

Vandomir miss20: 1d100 ⇒ 21
Rexandi Escape: 1d20 + 12 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 12 + 3 = 27

Rexandi Vatia |

Rexandi struggles with the vines, thinking that they must be writhing about to grab her, which is why she can't get away, when the liberating command spell once again pops her free. She does her best to keep making her way down with the team to support Abbo and the other against the succubus, though she knows she has little to add.
Assuming she can see Xyl, she tries to throw a misfortune hex on the demon.
DC 17 Will save to resist. I believe that SR applies, if she has any.

DM Hell's Fox |

Yeah we can have a banister. The map in this portion feels a little empty.
From what I understand, spell resistance has no effect on hexes, so you're good to go.
Bazzle slides down the banister for some extra speed, before moving right into melee. Rexandi targets Xyl with a hex, but Xyl seems unaffected.
The succubus giggles and says "You smart little mortals. You're trying to flank me." She slaps Abbo with her tail, which hurts so bad it stings. "But not this time. I'll play with you more in a bit."
Suddenly, there's a burst of flame, and where Xyl once stood is nothing but a scorch mark.
Abbo takes 16 damage
No more enemies, but I'm still somewhat counting rounds. There's a guy at your feet (the one with the illusion armour) who's unconscious. There's also that first enchanted man who's unconscious up the stairs. What would you like to do?

The Dottari is in the room that was before the tunnel, have you decided to head down that way?

Vandomir Jarvis |

With no obvious targets to shoot, Vandomir surveys their status...
I see Rex is injured, no one remains grappled, right? Anyone else injured? If it is only Rex, I'll move to her and heal her.
