"Adieu, adieu. We'll meet in the end.
Unless,.....I know an orchestra that would love to have you;...."
Pip shrugs regretfully
"Alas, I have a few more worlds to visit and a deal more murderhoboitry to accomplish before I join the string section of an orchestra"

"Les' dew dis t'ing." Elgan responds to Altai.
"An' naice tew meet yew too Mr Satuhday suh. Sorree we caint stay an' chat. Seems awful rude ah knows. Buut dis iz kinda empurtent. An' we'ze bin chasin' er fren fur a while nows. If'n we meets agin, ah promeisis tew welcum yeh raight. Wit' a big pot uv gumbo an' sum burled crawfish."
The wild elf bows towards Mr Saturday, and then flies up with his companions to the tower roof.

Yeah. There's a pendentive-supported dome over the top but you can make out entries there too. It seems more like cave openings, between the columnar pendentives, than actually worked masonry.
Huzzzah!!!

"Quebec. Riiiiiiight." While he's too polite to roll his eyes, Altai nonetheless looks at her like she's a particularly slow college freshman.
"A seance, eh? And, the fat one - do you mean the furry demon?"
Huh. According to Derleth (who invented the damned things), it's tcho-tcho. So I guess 'll go with that spelling.

Elgan pats the girl comfortingly on the arm.
"Iz alriaght Chere'. Weze be raight back. An' am purty shueh dat yu'll be safer down heah dan' whar we'ze goin'." He says with a smile.
He rolls his neck to loosen it, revealing his pointed ears from underneath his dreadlocks, interlaces his fingers and flexes his arms, popping his knuckles.
"Iz likelee teh gets a bit, messee, befur we'ze dun." He adds with a wink.

D-W 2 and 3 are the top of the tower.
The tower from 4 to 44 is the tower's walls itsself. The map is a wraparound representation. if you move left to say D9, you are actually in W9 as well. If you move 5 more feet you are in U9.
The small squares are what appear to be cocoons; they hold....something about human sized; they are comprised of resinous substance and you cannot see through them.
The larger squares are bigger igloos of some sort, of the same resinous substance. They look more extruded than built.
At the bottom is what appears to be a thick bubbling orange melange; it's bubbling anyway. And popping. Like boiling oatmeal.
Place yourselves at the top, in D-@ 3. Tall people's squares will reach up into D-W 2 as warranted.
Again, any questions let me know.
C=90; 2piR=90, R=about 15 feet. So the "ceiling" which is essentially the other side of the shaft/wall, is about 30 feet away.

Oh I get it! Instead of a 'down the shaft/cutaway view' you gave us the entire thing all laid out flat. If we want the 3d view we could print it and roll it up into a tube. Very good, It's like you've done this before,... waitaminute. How many people have you killed with this adventure before?!? ;P
Elgan lightly lands on Claws shoulder, once again ready to spring any direction to assist where he is needed.
I figure Claw/Altai will be near the middle of the group, So I'm there too! :)

Nice - a Mercator-style projection. I get the layout. But can I ask for a small change in the colour scheme? I have a really hard time picking out contents in the tower, and my head hurts just looking at it.
Also - there's no ceiling as such, just the butressed roof?

The ceiling is a dome. Like over the Capital building or something.

"This is.... actually sorta cool." Altai, floating underneath the domed ceiling, pushes back his faceplate and runs his hands through his gore-matted hair. "No doors. No windows. No walkways or railings. And the devil's fondue bubbling below. This is the world's best prison."
"Of course, the tower also tells us something about the guards. They can either walk on the walls, or they can fly. They probably aren't too bothered by heat or acid. And they probably spin or snort out these resinous globs. Sounds like we're flying into some kind of spiderish horrorshow."
"So, do we hunt down and kill the guards first, or so we start by searching the prison-blobs?"

"Let's get some help..." Altai casts a spell, and the air in the tower seems to thicken a bit.
I'm converting Undeath to death into Summon monster VI, which I use to summon 1d3+1=3 Large air elementals. They'll help us ferry coccooned prisoners - and to deal with the guards. The elementals start off in the middle of the tower; Altai starts floating underneath the canopy in O1. Claw flies next to him in P-Q 2-3. Gjetost flies in R-S 2-3.
