I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Beldan's able to make it up there okay. It's black as night, except for an arched mote of light at the foot of the door.
Bird dander still floats around in the lit portion of the room.
I gotta bail; I'll see you guys tomorrow prolly as this will be a long mission I'm on.
Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)
Cool, safe short journeys! See you tomorrow!
Elgan flies up and watches the entrance to the tree as the others climb up Beldan's rope.
His mini-thunderhead still rumbles ominously, and the druid-hawk urges the others to make what haste they can while he still has his spell running.,...
Bard 8/ Troubadour of Stars 9 Epic Shredder
Climb: 1d20+3=11
Pip scurries up the rope

Godspeed brother!
<Stig looks at the rope. Then he looks at Altai.>
"Well?"
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Meh...everybody's able to make it up, or we could be here for a fortnight doing climb rolls...
Same room as before; it's dark. You don't see anything...
There's a door at the south end of the room. Closed.
Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9
"Der door could have a trap? Can people check? Or do we just go boom?"
Oso waits at minimum safe distance (near the exit).
Male Human Rogue 14
“I’ll check it out … someone cover me.” Beldan cautiously approaches the door, begins searching the area immediately before it, then the door itself, for traps. Search: 13+11 = 24
Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)
"Looks like they cleaned out the corpses. Be prepared for more zombies once we go down into the tree."
Male Human Rogue 14
I was thinking that when we cleared out last time actually – we left them lots of zombie fodder…
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Beldan can find no traps on the door.
Male Human Rogue 14
He’ll listen at it Listen:14+1 = 15, test to see if it’s unlocked, pick the lock if necessary Open Lock: 15+18 = 33, then stand back and gesture for one of the warrior types to do the honours on opening it.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
It sounds like it's raining in there.
Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)
"Huh?" Altai sneaks up to the door. "I guess it makes some sense; we are in the middle of a sawmp, after all."
Listen 14+3=16.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)
Altai looks back at the rest of the party. "Everybody ready?" Stepping to one side, he pushes the door open with his staff.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
The door creaks audibly. It is indeed pouring rain in this room, the room where the mob of lizardmen were stationed.
The room is also filled with pea soup (no pun intended) fog; you can't see more than five feet into there...
Dimensions are as follows from prior memory:
a-L top, 1-13 side...
c1-h1 are usable,
b2-k2 are usable,
a3-a9 through L3-L9 usable,
b10-b11 through L10-L11 usable, and c12-c13 through k12-k13 usable.
The door in is on the north wall L3;
The door out was at the south wall c13.
You remember a firepit at f-g 7-8....
Again, visibility is hampered by fog, and there is a loud steady downpour.
Your move...
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
oh, and sorry about the recent seeming lull; busy as hell, was out in Texas hell weather last night to pick up my mom from the airport; got to sleep at 1 a.m. I'm beat assed tired.
Male Human Wizard 17 (Conjuration specialist)
"Hey Riese, drop a few fiery blasts in there. They'll burn off the fog."
Bard 8/ Troubadour of Stars 9 Epic Shredder
Pip will set up the standard Inspire Courage song {5 rds +1 ATK/+1DAM to all}
"Though we walk in the lair of evil,
I shall not despair or fall.
For Riese's Regulators walk beside me,
Noble champions one and all."
Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9
It is raining water, isn't it?
"Bad feeling dis fog an' rain, keep singing ma main man. someone jus walked over ma grave."
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Looks like water.
no, Riese; it's not Raining Men...;)
ROFL
<Stig sdjusts his harness.>

Altai Iscarni wrote: "Hey Riese, drop a few fiery blasts in there. They'll burn off the fog." I find it highly improbable that a few quick blasts would serve to evaporate the fog to any large degree but I will certainly try....Riese will drop 5-6 bursts in the room in random spots.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
You get one of those a round? What damage does it do?
Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)
ELgan-hawk flaps overhead as the Wizard begins dropping his fiery bombs throughout the room. As teh final explosions settle, he directs his small thunderhead to drift into the room and waits to see what (if anything) is revealed.
I just re-read my Call Lightning again. In an area of a storm or similar bad weather (Including a Djinni's Whirlwind) it increases the damage dice!
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Well, Riese pops his first firebomb; you guys hear a screechy elderly woman's voice screech, "onwaaaaard!!!" And you hear something big, or I should say some THINGS big,....shambling towards you in the damn-unseeable fog.
What now?
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Oh, and with the coordinates above,....if you wanna call a square to hit, you might sink my battleship.
Male Human Paragon 3 /Evoker 6 (abjuration&enchantment barred) ---37,300XP
3d6 in a 5' radius, just pick a random spot, Riese isn't choosy and I haven't had time to construct a map.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
G5!!! fwoosh...
the fog's still there.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Riese did that; I guess everybody state an action, even if it is to do nothing, and state whether you're coming into the fog room or staying in the other room.
Elgan's cloud blends into the rain and fog.
Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9
Oso automatically begins casting, a halo of fog grows upon his head then dissipates to leave a crown of bones.
casts Crown of the Grave
"This help some with juju lizardman zombies."
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Right on; are you getting in the fog room or hanging back?
Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9
wait maybe move towards the front of the party keeping a meat shield or two between me and the shamblers.
Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)
With the rain, my Call Lightning cloud is now 3d10 dmg! So I wait until my keen eyes pick out the first shadows of movement near the door, and let'em have it!
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Right on,...I'm assuming you two are waiting in the harpy coop room then.
Bard 8/ Troubadour of Stars 9 Epic Shredder
Pip's a paper tiger. I'll hang back and see where I can do the most good. Inspire courage is in effect, so everyone remember those +1 to ATK&DAM

[metagame]He's draining your spells.[/metagame] It's a reserve feat! No wasted spells! ;P
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
You hear them lumbering forward, and like that they're on top of you Stiggy. (Stig's at L3) There is a giant skeleton at jk-2 and 3, and at kL 4 and 5; you can hear one more behind the one at JK 2-3...
They have warclubs, and no guile. You easily spot them and get first go...full attack for everybody (even Riese) and then it's initiative.
Bard 8/ Troubadour of Stars 9 Epic Shredder
Pip will whirl his sling and toss a magic rock at one of the skellis
I'm a bit spacially confused, so just have it aim for the closest one to my position
Sling: 1d20+13=19, 1d4+2=6
The whirling sling speeds a ball towards the lumbering giant skellis
Male Human Rogue 14
Beldan will hang back for now, until the doorway is cleared a bit.
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Pip's slingshot bounces off the skelly's draping hide armor.....
I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!
Stiggy, Gittik, Riese, Elgan, Oso and Altai left to attack. I'll wait until end go for Altai; if anyone has an idea of what he'd like Altai to do, he can shout it out to him.
Male Wild Elf Druid 16 (Shifter version, PHBII)
3d10+1=22
Elgan-hawk squawks at the appearance of the first blur to try appear in the fog and try to charge the door. In response a lightning bolt, much larger and louder than his usual, (perhaps it's echoing in the enclosed space?) crashes down onto it.
Barbarian (berserker) 3; Init +1; AC18; Hp 36/41; Saves Str +5, Con +7; Passive Perception 9
Oso points at the first skeleton to appear and using the innate power of his crown commands, "collapse."
Holy energy erupts from the priests head and hits the skull, pouring into his eye sockets.
Crown of the Grave, can use a one word command as per the spell, once per minute on one undead, it gets a Will Save DC20, due to burning a turn attempt this round.
Male Human Paragon 3 /Evoker 6 (abjuration&enchantment barred) ---37,300XP
Fiery Burst on the large skelly(KL-4/5)-3d6=17 fire. DC17 reflex for half.
