oh, the creeping doom doesn't have to stay all together. They are 4 separate swarms (If I read it right?) they just have to appear next to each other. :) Lets have one continue to harass mii, one head up towards m4 (if he's still kicking) and the others enter the darkness. (Creeping vs Creepy!) :)
Right on. They move at 20, so they make it to the edge of the darkness.
Satari-san
Satari flies up just as Elgin's wall closes beneath his feet. He is tempted to plunge straight into the ominous cloud of darkness, seeking the malice at its centre.
"Does anyone know what that shadow is?"
Instead, the monk charges in a long spiral at the mothman menacing Pip and Altai.
Charge m4. Attack: 1d20 + 21 + 3 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 21 + 3 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 39; damage 4d8 + 9 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (7, 2, 3, 6) + 9 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 4 = 42.
Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe
Pip keeps up the barrage, picking his targets where he can. The pulse of sun hits him
ref: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
He manages to shield himself from the magical flash and pepper the foe with holy arrows
Attack 1 (manyshot also)1d20 + 21 ⇒ (14) + 21 = 351d8 + 4d6 + 19 ⇒ (3) + (3, 5, 4, 1) + 19 = 35
Attack 21d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 361d8 + 4d6 + 19 ⇒ (8) + (2, 3, 5, 4) + 19 = 41
Attack 3 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 251d8 + 4d6 + 19 ⇒ (8) + (5, 1, 3, 2) + 19 = 38
Attack 4 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 351d8 + 4d6 + 19 ⇒ (8) + (5, 2, 6, 1) + 19 = 41
Many shot damage: 1d8 + 19 + 4d6 ⇒ (1) + 19 + (6, 3, 3, 2) = 34
dungeonmaster heathy
Pip steps back and feathers m4, dropping him.
Then he attacks the darkness, sending 4 arrows through its unknown anatomy.
their turn.....
the darkness attacks Elgan, with its 15 foot reach.
4d8 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 7) + 6 = 24 hp in damage to Elgan, and make a dc 18 fort save, or drained of 3 levels.
m ii doesn't do anything; the centipedes are blowing his mind.
drew a questionmark on the robed dude; you guys can't see him due to the wall of stone.
Group's attack!!!
Elgan Dreadwood
Yikes Ok, Fort save vs 'Darkness Attack'.
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23 Whew! No neg lvls! HP down to 116
OK. So attacking the Darkness DOES work?!? Who knew?
Ref save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 Nuts. Full dmg. Now HP:88
The bits of shadow-stuff strike the elemental druid full force, seeming to cling to him before he can shake them off. He trembles in the air a bit before steadying himself.
"Iz,... Dat,... All,... Yew got?"
Altai Iscarni
Gjetost destroys the darkness.
It explodes, and does 8d8 reflex dc 22 for half, to Elgan, Gjetost, Satari, Pip, Emrael and Altai.
Altai and Gjetost both blew their saves. Altai's starting to look a little ragged. Good thing I have that shield guardian!
Also, M4 got deaded by Pip, right? It's still on the map.
Elgan Dreadwood
Elgan casually directs his remaining swarm(s), and another lightning bolt from his personal thundercloud, to harass the remaining visible mothman.
Continued Swarm action on mii, the second swarm can replace the first if the lightning bolt kills it :)
Big lightning strike on mii. 5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 2, 4) = 15
SR roll; 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17 <Grunt> ;P
Emrael Bladewalker
Emrael was hit by the explosion even at the top of the dome? Just asking, hopeful voice and puppy dog eyes can be assumed.
Is there another save against ongoing effects like sunburst? She's still blind.
Emrael Bladewalker
Reflex DC 22: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
She doesn't hit her saves often. Ever. 28 points of damage takes her to 9 hp
Correction on her action last round, she draws the wand of Cure Critical Wounds. This round, she uses UMD to activate it on herself.
UMD DC 20: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27
CCW: 4d8 + 7 ⇒ (5, 1, 1, 7) + 7 = 21
Satari-san
Ref save DC 22: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36
Satari shrugs off the clinging darkness, remaining stoic in the face of its vile shadow. He looks down into the depths of the tower, seeking further threats to face or innocents to rescue.
Perception 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (19) + 24 = 43
"Have we rescued everyone we can? Did we find Beldan? I don't like the thought of that gate behind Elgan's stone wall, or what might emerge from it."
Elgan Dreadwood
"I don't like the thought of that gate behind Elgan's stone wall, or what might emerge from it."
"Dat makes tew uv us. Dats why I PUT it dere!" Elganelemental replies.
Let me go through my (remaining) spells. I think we're gonna need a quick turn of Cures and heals pretty soon! :)
Satari-san
"Altai, everything seems calm. Much like the centre of a hurricane I suspect. No sign of Beldan yet, but there may be more coccoons below Elgan's wall. Or perhaps ... through the gate."
You can hear the distaste in Satari's voice at the thought of entering that vile yellow cloud.
"What can we do about our blinded companions? And our wounds?"
Altai Iscarni
"The gate has probably reopened by now, and I won't be able to suppress it again. Unfortunately, I haven't prepared any of the wall-type spells either."
"We've come much too far to stop. We need to find the last enemy, blast his essence into oblivion and then rescue Beldan."
