Altai Iscarni
"Good afternoon! Please don't startle the golem, or he might drop you." Altai nods meaningfully towards the boiling glop in the bottom of the chamber. "We'll put you on the roof; we'll help you get down once we're done with the other bubbles."
"Oh, could you tell us a bit about how you got here? Who put you in the bubble, and how?"
Emrael Bladewalker
She smiles. "We are but strangers in a strange land. You will likely see others in forms new to you before you see your home again." If we have any chance of finding his home again. Mecca? Medina? Khwarazm? Otrar?
Altai Iscarni
Altai exchanges a puzzled gaze with Emrael. Never heard of them either. "OK. The golem will fly you down into the courtyard. Once there, go help yourself to some clothing and maybe a sword from the dead tcho-tchos by the wagons. Once we've freed everyone, we'll help you all get out of here."
Mass fly lasts for 10 minutes per level - meaning we have about two hours left on my first casting. So we'll take it slow - cut one guy out, talk a little to him and then ferry him down to the ground; then repeat.
Elgan Dreadwood
Seeing that the area is getting crowded with all of them and Altai's summoned friends, Elgan holds off calling for help himself. Although he does keep a couple of old friends in mind in case they are needed,...
He assists with the next blister by shifting to the form of a dire cat (a strange cross between a lion and a tiger perhaps?) and shredding the cocoon with his claws.
Att/dmg (being careful not to go TOO deep, or use his amulet elemental dmg) 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (16) + 25 = 411d8 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22

It casts.
12d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 1, 5, 2, 4, 2, 5, 5, 5, 2) = 46 dc 26 fortitude save for half; all three elementals and Elgan are affected.
They feel their integument cracking and being leached of moisture....
Two more extrude from the igloo. These....mothmen....seem more evil than the usual ones.
Group's attack!!!
Emrael Bladewalker
Emrael casts a spell, ending with her sword pressed forward from her, hilt in one hand, flat of the blade against the other. As she pushes the sword away from her, it flares with flame and a 'worm' of flame fully four-and-a-half feet in diameter extends away and toward the mothmen.
Fire snake: It starts adjacent to me and moves up to my level in 5' squares. I count 15 squares necessary to reach all three mothmen from her current position, so she doesn't move. Reflex DC 22 for half damage, Spell Resistance yes
Fire Damage: 15d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 5, 6, 4, 2, 1, 2, 4, 4, 3, 5, 6, 1) = 56
As the fiery worm moves toward the creatures, she invests some power into the sword itself. Arcane point for +5 Keen Shocking Burst katana; I'm assuming enough time has passed that the previous point has faded
Elgan Dreadwood
Elgan grimaces, as much at the twisted warping of natures power against him as for the pain the spell is causing.
Before the wave of magic is even fully finished, Elgan instinctively shifts into a towering fire elemental, fully intent on venting a little of NATURAL Nature's wrath upon these Dark Mothmen.
Fort:(including all bonuses) 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 26
Stats currently; AC:45, Touch:22, Flat:41, HP:170
"Y'all Don' mess wit' Natuh. Cuz she's a MUDDER!" Elgan calls out.
And then he calls a sweeping storm of Ice and hail down on top of the three Dark Mothmen.
Ice storm. Save throw- None. Spell Res, yes, (Unfortunately) :P
Bludgeon damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) = 11
Cold Dmg: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
Total= 16 dmg
Caster Lvl checks: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 231d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 351d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18

One air elemental unleashes the awesome power of wind on the emerging mothmen.
EL1 transforms itself into a whirlwind in the F 21 to E-F 14 area. M1 and M3 is caught in it, and must make a Reflex 20 save or get trapped in the whirlwind. They also take 1d8+6=13 points of damage each.
The other elementals home in on the last mothman.
EL2 moves to I-J 13-14 before attacking M2. Attack roll 11+16=AC 27, damage 1d8+6=12.
EL3 moves to K-L 11-12 before attacking M2. Attack roll 10+16=AC 26, damage 1d8+6=11.
dungeonmaster heathy
Altai points his staff at the mothmen, and the air around them explodes into flame.
Yeah, it's a Fireball centered on E11. Damage 10d6=39 fire, Reflex 23 for half damage. SR checks 12+16+1(Spell Penetration)=29, 11+16+1=28, 12+16+1=29.
They all take a little damage; fire doesn't seem to affect these things as much as it should.

They're not "trapped" by the whirlwind, and the other two miss the last mothman.

Underwhelming. It seems like I need bigger, badder elementals.
Or less overwhelming opponents. Seems like these guys are not the usual pushovers our murderhoboes have become accustomed to dealing with. Our first reality check in a few levels. :) Time to get clever and think low-level. Use what we got. They actually have wings right? Does anyone besides Elgan still have Entangle bags? Web spells? :)

Mothman 2 attacks Gjetost, and hits once for a grand total of 10 hp damage.
Mothman 1 hits air elemental 2 3 times for a total of 12 hp damage.
Mothman 3 casts.......
12d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 2, 1, 6, 1, 3, 4, 6, 3, 1, 5) = 44 damage to elemental 3, Gjetost, Elgan, Emrael, Satari, Pip, and Altai.
DC 26 fort save gives half damage.....you feel like you're being dehydrated and mummified.
Mothman 4 appears on the scene as well.
Group's attack!!!!

"Now Yew CUT DAT OUT! Elgan-elemental bellows in a combination of pain and fury.
I have an idea. I want to summon a Creeping Doom spell (4 powerful swarms) but they list it as enhanced Centipede swarms. Can I summon a flying version of this? if not I need a new plan. :/
