If it's a 12hr night, do the ppl on the first and last watch get a good night of sleep to recover HP's? That's usually how we do it for my tabletop game and we try to make sure the casters get a full night of rest so they can recover their spells too.

Time of Day: A divine spellcaster chooses and prepares spells ahead of time, but unlike a wizard, does not require a period of rest to prepare spells. Instead, the character chooses a particular time of day to pray and receive spells. The time is usually a ssociated with some daily event. If some event prevents a character from praying at the proper time, she must do so as soon as possible. If the character does not stop to pray for spells at the first opportunity, she must wait until the next day to prepare spells.
Clerics don't need rest to prepare in pathfinder. But we should do our best to accommodate Joseph and Silas.

I like simplicity when it comes to play by post - as long as you sleep at night in a reasonably safe environment (such as a camp with people taking watch), you can count your rest as uninterrupted even if you end up taking a middle watch. Of course, casters would probably still prefer last watch, because their spells wouldn't be refreshed until they've had a decent period of sleep, but the unfortunately-placed watch won't interfere with their ability to case the next day as long as they get back to sleep.
Effectively, I'm willing to be flexible for the sake of party harmonics. The uninterrupted rest thing is an area of the spell-regeneration thing that I never really liked that much, if I'm honest - I've never really enforced it unless characters were woken early in the night and not given the chance to sleep again.

Very nice! On both accounts, clerics not needing rest and your flexibility, Gatsby. Now that you mention it Harbek, I think I might have known that and forgotten it. Many years of 3.5 vs. about 7 months of PF so I often get mixed up or forget. Thanks for your guidance.

I've been playing pathfinder for at least a couple of years. I played 4th before that and 3.5 before fourth (and 3rd before 3.5) it's hard not to get mixed up! Happens to me all the time.

You estimate that the camp is covered by about half a foot of running water in places, although the surrounding forest looks less waterlogged.
Almost waist deep - this'll be quite dangerous.
Silas Bishop
Silas is going to need about an hour to study, then he'll do the autopsy. Not sure how long till that happens.
incidentally, will be the same loadout as previously, but this time also with mending, guidance and a second blank 1st level slot.

That's a great autopsy, GM Gatsby!
Now Silas is throwing around conjectures about who is infected and who is not, ramping up the paranoia... but it is just an opinion... based on evidence he can't tell any one because the autopsy doesn't support it!
Love it :)

You can easily drag the boat past the sawmill after loading it but before getting in and actually casting off, due to the river's swollen nature - and it's a bit more like a barge, quite wide but not too long, poled rather than rowed. About twenty five feet in length and fifteen wide. Normally used for carrying more delicate cuts of timber, so will easily take all of you. There were bigger and smaller boats there, but they were either too damaged or carried away in the overflow.
Don't forget the dog. ;)

Thanks for saying, Gatsby.
Silas, I have played many characters who would agree with you, it just happens this guy is not one of them, so it's nothing personal. Hope I didn't ruffle any feathers by what might seem like implying you are a murder hobo. I was being self deprecating rather than accusatory but humour can be difficult to communicate over the internet :)

Caveth - thanks for the clarification. Silas is a pretty cold fish and I'm happy someone called him on it.
GM Gatsby
Silas puts his final point of the scenario across well - to get any understanding of what is affecting these people you'll need tools, textbooks and potentially outside help - a safe-house outside of the city walls would be an ideal place to take care of your wounds, discover what you can and still be far enough away from Barrjka to prevent a potential outbreak starting with your captive.

Went to see the Doctor Who symphonic spectacular today. Lots of fun, I'll upload some pictures and link to them later :) I'm now waiting to board in the airport to fly back to Sydney.

No problem, Kip! Lets get this boat-show underway!
No, let's get the show-boat underway. You gotta love a musical on a cruise ship, right?! Oklahoma anyone?
GM Gatsby
A new GM? No, I love you all too much to hand you over.
Roland is our guest for the scenario, a wildcard NPC who has some direction from me as to his goal but can go about it any way he chooses to. I wanted to add a little element of random into your encounter at the gate, seeing as it's the last barrier between you and your own current destination, and Roland is both familiar enough with the world to act as a sort-of-NPC for the duration of the scenario and has an established reason to be around Barrjka and in cahoots with Hawcroft. He won't be leaving the gate with you, so make the most of him while he's around.
If you'd like to get a measure of him as a character or roleplayer, he's the deFacto party leader of the Phantom Limbs game Ikarida, the city of leaves, mostly by virtue of being not insane.

So what you're saying is... more insanity? I think I can find a reason for that.

Yeah, we are in for bit if a fight - hopefully just a verbal one...

I've placed myself on the map but I haven't posted because I thought I had my one thing to do before you move the bad guy next. I will gladly take another shot if that is on the table though!
